do you know what head it is though? and its probably not flowing anything like a stock head, ported, polished, valve job, bigger valves, bigger cam. All of these are probably on the build list
ANYBODY can slap a turbo on their car and SAY it's fast, but for a person to want to actually SEE what these small motors can do all on their own without any power-adders, nitrous, etc, and make the big power that they do "206.50WHP" is EXTREMELY impressive, WAAAYYY more impressive than someone just slapping a Turbo on their car with NO Internal work that's been done like a hundred thousand times before...
Crazy! Building my A6 at the moment, hoping for 150+ all motor on a daily driver. People never believe me that the A6 can make stupid power with proper love...much better geometry in my opinion than the vtec engines
Not all D-series are equal. If we're talking about the D16Z6 or D16Y8, sure. But the D15B7 deserves some credit over all of them for making just a touch more than a Z6, even being down on displacement. But the L15A7 as far as performance goes outperforms the D-series by a long shot. People just always ignore any engine that never gets a high-performance option from the factory. Look at the numbers people turn on small block Windsor Fords now, when back in the day, nobody bothered with a Windsor V8 when they could have had a Cleveland, which WAS the factory hi-po engine.
To put it in perspective, there are guys doing nothing more than tuning ECU's for the L15A7 on stock hardware and already seeing double digit gains. ~20HP is what I've seen on forums. That puts the L15A7 at 150 over it's stock output of 130. In factory form.
@@isher9035 The d15b7 was the 1992-1995 civic base engine. Sohc, 16 valve, non-vtec, found in the dx models. It in fact did not produce more power than the d16z6.
I love seeing something that isn't the norm. good job on making good power guys. and big deal on making 200whp on bolt ons. your probably just like everyone else who has the same year si as you.
But that's YOUR opinion though. It's WAAAYYY more impressive to see these small powerless & torqueless motors, being built, and making BIG Power & TQ like the Motor in this vid. It's just a more impressive feat, and a better accomplishment IMO...
Wow if accurate I’m really impressed must have some very impressive head work and really be turning some rpms to get those numbers out of a D series N/A
@Julian62788 Is the busa setup decent for these engines? The Hayabusa engine is 1300cc's designed to run over 11,000rpm so I imagine the throttle bodies are pretty large diameter to support those high RPM's. Also, what fuel management is free?
More towards the front or back it don't matter they are Still in the center of the Head. The ONLY Honda 4 Cylinder engines with the Plugs on the Front of the head are the A series in the 1-2nd Gen Preludes and the EW1-4 In the 1st Gen Crx to the civics in the 80's The EW and A series engines stopped production in 1987 with the introduction of the D, B, F, H series engines.
well here in usa what i allwasy see is if the plugs are closer to the firewall its a 1.5 of the plugs are closer to the radiator its a 1.6 non vtec or vtec
Jesse Jacob the d16y8 and d16y8 are the best d series heads , the reason why the a6 is good is because of its higher compression pistons especially when swapped in the 1.6 block
@Julian62788 Well...I mean an ITB setup is going to require (in most cases) a new fuel management system. So look at $700 for quality ITBs, another $1000 for fuel management, and then probably new injectors to support the air. In the end...just go b16a if you really want to stay with a 1.6. Or just sell the Honda and get a rotary :)
those v8 guys may be talking shit that it only has a 206whp but little do they understand that 200whp on an NA is alot of power especially on a SOHC. I bet this thing will give them V8 a run for their money =D
@Julian62788 140whp with ITB's and all the associated cost? A beetle engine with that much money in it would probably do 200whp...and that was an engine designed in the 1930s...
how the fuck you have a 1.6 when that head is 1.5..... or did ya change the block to 1.6 or stroke and bore it to 1.6? bcuz i know thats a 1.5 head.....please explain......
I like how this was done 10 years ago with literally test bench confirmed the WORST flowing sohc head.
do you know what head it is though? and its probably not flowing anything like a stock head, ported, polished, valve job, bigger valves, bigger cam. All of these are probably on the build list
My d16 has a turbo and doesnt make that power. Hats off
ANYBODY can slap a turbo on their car and SAY it's fast, but for a person to want to actually SEE what these small motors can do all on their own without any power-adders, nitrous, etc, and make the big power that they do "206.50WHP" is EXTREMELY impressive, WAAAYYY more impressive than someone just slapping a Turbo on their car with NO Internal work that's been done like a hundred thousand times before...
Yes I agree
Crazy! Building my A6 at the moment, hoping for 150+ all motor on a daily driver.
People never believe me that the A6 can make stupid power with proper love...much better geometry in my opinion than the vtec engines
SOHC FTW d series was far more superior then the 1.6 liters in its day
Nah the mazda 1.6 made more power and was dohc

@matthias gialanze yes but it was not available in the US
Very impressive especially for non VTec head.. Much respect man on that build

SOHC motor that loves having the power of a DOHC motor
Wow if accurate I’m really impressed must have some very impressive head work and really be turning some rpms to get those numbers out of a D series N/A
Congats mga tol! Make Philippines proud! Co All motor d16z6 driver in chicago
Nice Anton your vids have come along way since your d15 build...lol. Keep up the good work sir!!!
3rd gear pull ?
D15b7 and D16a6 heads are pretty much the same castings. Also the valve covers look the same as well.
What the heck!!:) thats insane! 200whp on a D? Bro... whats the motor set up? 😮
D15b7 and D16a6 (88-91 Crx si/CivicEx) spark plugs are at back. Youre talking about the d16y7 non vtec with the plugs up front.
Things I would've liked from this car ;1.complete engine and 2.the wheels 3.ecu.
That is the most powerful motor d series motor of all time right there no one has been able to match that crazy I would love to know what's in it
nicely done, great numbers with your setup, and LAWL @ your valve cover nice touch lol
duration of this camshaft? sounds so smooth..not too rough
@Julian62788 Is the busa setup decent for these engines? The Hayabusa engine is 1300cc's designed to run over 11,000rpm so I imagine the throttle bodies are pretty large diameter to support those high RPM's. Also, what fuel management is free?
@2sohc Your always welcome bro!! Ill see you guys again later this year! :)
I want to top this. it's so hard to find info on how to do it though
@killinIntegra Power to weight ratio? What year is your SI?
Awesome video Anton!
2:58 That smile of win! :D
D16 na 200whp
Loth of moneys
that a bad ass set up bro love the pink anyway where did u get the crank pully from i wont one for my all motor set up

o.0 everything is great in this video even the camera !!
@JamesD
It's a 2007 four door its about 2900 pounds
this is the fastest D16a non vtec all-motor in the world?
Wats the setup PLEASE share i kno for a facts its high comp pistons huge cameshaft ported head
@stage2nos its a custom made header
How did u hook up the vtec switch
and what kinda header is that sound good
Very impressive
Stock stroke and 77mm bore if I remember correctly.
@MrKoolaidman909 I dont see any smoke. and why would a racing clutch smoke while riding it?
ok then what is the best recipe for a D series to have 200 hp all engine?
Money
@MrKoolaidman909 u dont know how long he was standing on the the dyno bfo benching it....?
you meant to say dohc power?
well here in usa what i allwasy see is if the plugs are closer to the firewall its a 1.5 of the plugs are closer to the radiator its a 1.6 non vtec or vtec
Pink2? Very original.
Why does it say dohc if its single?
@JamesD Thanks James!!
@importornothing This is a race car; the valve cover is the last thing they will worry about . Anyways, the bling header and itb's make up for it.
im trying to get 200 whp in a 93 civic dx. na d16a6 im pretty sure i will. whats your set up if ya don't mind.
What part of the PI is this? Shop location?
sohc motor that loves dohc?
what head would you rather for a d16a6 block?? thanks
Guillermo Dos Santos I have always been under the impression that the z6 was one of the best d series heads
Jesse Jacob the d16y8 and d16y8 are the best d series heads , the reason why the a6 is good is because of its higher compression pistons especially when swapped in the 1.6 block
Lucky Rooster correct. The y8 has swirl ports making more torque z6 is straight thru design making more hp
majorkin19 a6 is a 1.6l block
Zac Nichols z6 block with y8 or d15b head best d series setup to star off with
is the D16A6 still runing std bore and stroke?
I love Dohc power, but is Sohc...
Because its dohc power in a sohc
i simply means that: Single cam outputting "DOHC POWER" get it?
Hi , what cam use ?
Those numbers aren't accurate in 3rd. That's not even near the 1:1 gear ratio for the 5 speed
Good point.
Anong mods mo????
@killinIntegra That CRX is most likely 1700-1900 lb
"I love DOHC" on a SOCH :P
Thsts awesome!!! But just take a stock d16z6 with a cheap 500 doller turbo from ebay and you could easily have 250whp lol
@nitrousboy0311 its not all-motor anymore if you add turbo in it.. lol
@killinIntegra k20?
wow very nice
@airball24 Las Pinas, Philippines. Part of Metro Manila
k20 killer?
@Julian62788 By the way, no D series will ever make enough power n/a to necessitate ITB's. A quick google search will tell you this.
That things nitrous thirsty
Is that Brain crower cam?
Lucky Rooster that's cheap for a cam
dyno sheet clrearly proves it only makes power intill 7500 rpm why do you rev more for?
+Miguel retrospec because if they shit at 7500, the power loss is more than reving over the power band to maximing the area under the curve.
those v8 guys may be talking shit that it only has a 206whp but little do they understand that 200whp on an NA is alot of power especially on a SOHC. I bet this thing will give them V8 a run for their money =D
He buddy trying to build my motor can yuh please help me wit ur spects 200 is my goal na i would love ur help
good stuff man. i made the exact HP on my civic si. and i just have bolt ons. if you want check out my stuff man
78mm bore 13.5:1pistons Q16 fuel
is the best way
i actually have a zc sohc, anyone know which kind of side draft carbs i can use?
geez, naw im good stock haha
dam you made 200hp on a shoc singlecam ..........that fuckin cool what mod did you do to it.
@shreCk2k7 ya maybe if you drive it like a grandma
and i can only imagine the octane used for the dyno not 91 i would hope!
@Julian62788 140whp with ITB's and all the associated cost? A beetle engine with that much money in it would probably do 200whp...and that was an engine designed in the 1930s...
^_^ ima dsm guy and even know the 2g crx and ef model civic had a nonvtec d16a6 with the spark plugs in the back damn google it before commenting
at what rpm?
Cam*
this is a k20 killer/
Anton nice editing. message me sometime
Honda engine....
"I love DOHC power"??? Why does it say that on the vc? It's a single...
it's called sarcasm
I wanna met the girl
damn
coulda painted ur vc lol
how the fuck you have a 1.6 when that head is 1.5..... or did ya change the block to 1.6 or stroke and bore it to 1.6? bcuz i know thats a 1.5 head.....please explain......
D16a6 or sohc zc is non vtec.
D15 head d16 block
Y7 is garbage compared to an A6.
150+ wasting your money.
ugly color Pink
