Say what you want about Disco, but these are elements you just don't hear in modern music anymore, and if so, RARELY. Big time string addict here - thank you!
Idk there’s definitely been a large resurgence in disco popularity in recent years. It’s not in every mainstream song (though there are a few big ones) but disco/funk is huge.
@@ryanbailey1794SG Lewis occasionally, Bruno Mars and Anderson Paak, Calvin Harris has two big albums in that vein, Jafunk, definitely a good amount of artists i’m not naming edit: now that i’m relistening to the Calvin Harris albums not that many disco strings on there lol
Most of the time, sponsored videos feel like ads. Watching your stuff is so much different, its a lot of fun watching you recreating these great tunes out of the blue in such a fast pace. Great video as always
I like the emulation between you 2. You express something in less than one word and it is done. That’s a great combination for a good and quick creativity...with the right computer support. Disco will never die...please more disco fun, Mister Doctor ;)
A tip. Usually key switches are placed on the highest or lowest keys, however you don't have to. You can place your key switch on a "unused" key a semitone away from where you need to make the switch (make it silent) and play the switch key as a ghost note. This way the timing is easier and it frees up your other hand.
I realize its all a joke to you but I love this stuff. You recreated the disco vibe that we had back in the 70's and early 80's except you are using modern tech and sampling files. But that riddle made me travel back in time to my youth. Funky! Thank you.
I always have loved Disco Funk. The very best! In 1991 and 1992, when everybody was throwing them away, I bought a shitload of Disco vinyls at the flea markets, sometimes as cheap as 10 DM (5 Euro) for 20 discs haha
Finally the VERY best genre: DISCO!!!! Check Cerrone...Bionic Boogie...Alec Costandinos....Musique....Barry White....Silver Convention.....Voyage for the best strings ...but for REAL!
As always, well done mixage', of advertising using the product, with a great vibe and uber high production values. "No one does it better...", Sir Claudio and Team (Hey, Luis!)! ❤
When in high school joy of been on a piano first time you played something I never forgot I thought I would never hear someone else play so short as I did and still do you just did it wow blew me in it quick yes yes yes yes yes heyyyyyy my favorite too.dun... dun.. dun ...(dun )dunt....
We need more disco like this! You said 1977? My year when getting sounds directly to my ears, although I probably felt some 1976 bass through my mum's belly. Anyway this means I need the soundpaint Disco Strings 🎉🕺🏻🧔🏻♀️🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎹👟👟✴️🪩✨🍸 Knights in white satin:🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻🕺🏻✨
So great how you know how to play these string arrangements by heart! You can hear them in your mind, I think? Only thing I would add is a little bit of octaver to make the strings sound a little bit bigger.
Fools overture..... that would work wicked awesome ❤ I bit of syncopation of the bass, would push that groove into outer space 😊love the way you play Rhodes ❤❤❤
Another great video doc, those strings sure are sounding fine 👌👍 Oddly i was thinking of doing a rework of Electric Light Orchestra's last train to London before this video dropped. This has just fuelled some serious inspiration!
The best bass lines I learned as a kid were from Disco songs. Listen to the Original theme from the TV show Chips... fantastic example of Disco in its hayday and a great bass line. 👍🏻
One of the great masters of strings is Jeff Lynne (ELO/Traveling Wilburys), who successfully managed to fuse classical, rock, pop and disco in a tight cohesive package, and in doing so, pretty much set the gold standard.
- Cool. Seems to have all the strings you could ever need, and then some more. - I heard Pachelbel's Canon in D in there. Remember the epic "Canon Rock" version that JerryC did on his guitar when UA-cam was still young?

Question for the community, assuming many of you have been on this Earth longer than I have, and may be super savvy about music arrangement: If disco was invented in the US, what's the reason behind strings having been featured in disco songs? I've thought that was more of a European thing since I was a young kid. Just curious, especially when I began listening to music when more synth sounds predominated the scene as a 1983-born should. Thanks!!
This library came out 35 years too late. I used to produce with the Proteus/2 with the marcato strings preset, then, Peter Sieszladjeck Violins, then LASS, but ended up learning to play strings myself out of deep frustration. And now the library comes out😒.

Dua lipa’s production are very much into the disco strings vibe. Not sure who else though

When I need a little pick-me-up, I watch a Doctor Mix video. 😁
Always.
Strings are cool but bass is awesome. Love disco from '70 played by musicians.
A live drummer and bass player makes everything better, as today's pop producers have started to rediscover.

Sounds very realistic, good for disco bangers.

I miss disco.
Best way to learn. Having fun!
You're insane...... insanely good !!! we're back in 1977.................. Disco heaven ! ................. Hooooo Yeaaaah baby.............
All these tools are incredible, but require high musical skills to fully explore their potential. Claudio is such a damn good player, man!

Yeah the early and mid 90s were great to buy mint vinyls on flea markets for ridiculous low prices. 3 DM /1,50 € for Kraftwerk‘s Computerwelt. 🤣
Finally the VERY best genre: DISCO!!!! Check Cerrone...Bionic Boogie...Alec Costandinos....Musique....Barry White....Silver Convention.....Voyage for the best strings ...but for REAL!

Tbh, the first music you played in the video doesn’t sound like real strings but the one tou played at the end of the video does sound legit.

Welcome back Doc. Any crafings for Chocomel?
We just need some light effects and we can have a retro party! ❤
Dr Mix a VST salesman now!!
I don’t mind. I found it interesting, even though I won’t be buying the software.

Is that the Rocky end credits theme?? Yo Adrian!! We did it!!
Next time try Eurythmics "Here comes the rain again"
I'm more of an 80's and 90's type, but the 70's was cool as well :)
70s made groove music

Hi Claudio,
the trills remind me so much of the Mission Impossible strings - could you deconstruct that theme, please...?
