The BD is a real “live” 909 indeed and I think the clap was, too, and crash cymbal, but the snare is a 909 snare from JV-2080 because it just sounded better 🤷🏻‍♂️ Hats are real, too. The rimshot indeed is an 808 one, but can’t remember if that was from the same sample CD or from the JV, but we didn’t have an 808. Shaker is from the JV, too.

The beat for Vogue was created by Shep Pettibone. Reportedly Madonna came to the session to write and sing the lyrics, and she worked very fast (as usual). The track was originally requested by the record company as a B-side for the release of Keep It Together as a single. The results are not bad for a quick extra B-side, I would say. The track got a massively influential video release and was tacked onto the Dick Tracy soundtrack album. Madonna went on to make her following studio album, Erotica, with Pettibone.

Whenever I can’t decide what drum sample from the numerous house packs I’ve downloaded to use, I default to the 909. Works in the song every time.

The NAVA Extra9 expands the sounds of the 909 to another level!
Please STEDA, you should create a clone of 909 with extra parameters 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
By the way, your video is formidable and 100% ultra-professional
    Five stars for you ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
