There were originally two rows of windows at the sub's nose, but when they added the "flying sub" they reduced it to a single row - EXCEPT they kept intercutting older footage of the sub like we weren't supposed to notice the difference?! But what really disappointed me was when they stopped using rear projection footage of waves splashing against those windows--which was so goddamn cool!
I saw this movie in the theater the first day it was released. I have seen the movie over 100 times in my lifetime. It never gets old. The Van Allen radiation belt was set on fire by a high altitude nuclear test,,and another nuclear missile was needed to extinguish the belt, but the Seaview is hunted by friendly forces to stop it from launching the missile. Great movie, and Great Story well ahead if its time.
It is great work. I just noticed an error in the model design. The hatch on the control deck by the windows does not line up with the hatch in the docking bay. In the docking bay the hatch is a little aft of the underside lights. In the disassembled view of the control deck the hatch is clearly forward of those lights. I would never notice that in the TV show, just having the exploded view right there you see it.
Are either of the 4 or 8 window kits still available ,? if so by who/ company/etc,etc Thanks as a modeler myself I always wanted the sub in Admiral Nelsons office AND the Jupiter 2 model that was shown on an episode of LIS
Yes --- Moebius makde the 4 and 8 window version of the Seaview. I dont know if theyre both still in production but you can usualy find them on Ebay. Moebius also makes an 18" version of the Jupiter 2. I have several Jupiter 2 videos posted here.

Brings me good memories from the 1960's. One of my favorite TV series'of that era.
I love the late 50's , early 60's styling on the submarine .

Normally I would agree , but the figures that come with the kit are so bad with their big "balloon heads" that it looked better without them. .

Ive also built the Moebius 8 window Seaview but haven't had time to make a video yet. I'll get to it when I have a little extra time.
