Long but please read People who think it is not much, just remember that a powerful person has the power to build opinions about something and someone you don't know anything about.... I remember when the whole t-series vs pewdiepie thing came around, how it turned into india vs t-series thing and how the jokes suddenly turned racist.... H3H3 straight up went attacking Indian looks, movies, dance(didn't even sound funny). That Israel dance thing.... Ooffff... Such a headache Idols know what they are doing.... Many idols are called out multiple times and enough backlash is faced that they get the message, regardless they still get involved.... I understand in MVs and movies/shows they are not in control, but variety show appreances?? Just to get some laughs and screen time they'll do anything? People like Henry really disappoint me cause he has done this multiple times and I guess he is Canadian (like there is such a big diaspora of Indians, come on sir) A one time mistake can be acceptable, doing same things again and again isn't. They are not some old bunch of people who don't know anything outside of their little place, they have an international presence. What are they showing their fans? What are they teaching to their SK fans? Regarding clothing and jewelry I would say that that is usually handed to them by their stylists and that is more of a boycott brands that rip off traditional designs and market them as their own original work. Local artists should be appreciated not these thieves. As someone who was trained in bharatnatyam and kathak, I feel sad seeing them do this thing. There is a story expressed in each dance mostly pertaining to our gods. It wouldn't hurt if they stop doing it. Like come on Indian dance on middle Eastern beats, Aladdin is not based on Indian culture, stop with the magic lamp 🙏. SK netizens got so heated up over the rising sun controversy, coz it was something very personal to their history and identity that they felt offended over the tattoo. They attacked the Philippines without researching the multiple meanings of the symbol... It hurts right? When your identity/your culture is attacked? So what is so difficult to understand?

They will even go to such lengths as to laugh at kpop idols racial jokes or cultural appropriation about themselves(Indians). Such pathetic people will never learn and be able to appreciate the richness of Indian culture and traditional heritage. if they do it once or twice.. it's ok and can be overlooked.. and even laugh about it for once. but when they do it again and again and even make a Racist song talking about indian food culture which is about curry? so indians are still supposed to laugh along with them and not get offended by it? not talk about it even? please somebody start a go fund me page and lets send off these korean fanatics to korea.

That stupid Curry song should be banned from the world, seriously, I do think it is important for fans to point out this issues and call out idols and companies on this, the thing is people have to also take into account that those actions doesn't automatically makes them racist as a person, what they did was racist and disrespectful, but you never know what they were thinking, they come from a context where mocking cultures, skin tones, etc. is seen like it is just for the laughs, which is totally wrong, and with this i'm not excusing them, I'm saying that that's the problem, I know Korea is not an undeveloped country and all this people have access to education, but this is sadly normalized a lot and not only in their country, i've seen it happen in mine as well, and also, these companies are attention seekers and money hungry, without a doubt i think they don't let many idols apologize if they do something like this just because it gives them attention, so it leads to more problems since they never get educated on it, and even if they want to apologize (which you never know, they probably don't even think about that situation later), they just keep doing the same mistakes. It is very important to point all this problems out so it stops being common in the industry and kpop stops disrespecting fans and non-fans from the cultures affected, but don't label idols or groups as "racist" when we don't really know if they thought that those actions could offend anyone, they could be seeing those racist stereotypes as a way to "reference" a culture, they can know about that culture, but they probably don't know what can be disrespectful towards that culture. EDIT: thank you for this video, it really shows the problem in a respectful way, this really needs to be stopped

When I was in my middle school, I used to learn 'Bharatanatyam'. This dance is something which is older than all the current living people in this World! This dance has been handed and taken over with precious meaning and respect!! I can assure how difficult it was!! You need to learn the dance for many months, with neck movements to hand gestures, to sitting postures and leg postures!! Moreover my dance Teacher was 75 years, who was active like youngsters and kinda strict with her lessons but she's very famous among dancers and till now she's one of the person who respect the dance like a god!! There are about 52 mudras approximately, out of which about 28 were like hand gestures we learn 1st and take the exam, and then the remaining 24 are double hand gestures for later followed by leg postures. Out of these, K-pop idol's are mostly doing 'kartari mugam' (scissors) 'mayuram' (peacock), 'aarala' (harsh storm) with the neck movement. I want to convey something, you can do or learn these gestures anytime!! But you shouldn't be doing how these people represented!! I learned it while I sat somewhere as all these gesture have inner meanings within it, and we should pay respect! Even before you start a small step of the dance, you should pray first by touching the ground, blessing our eyes, getting up and bowing down with a 'namaste' posture for respect and after the dance also, you should do the same to end it respectfully!! If you guys can't do all these properly, NEVER EVER TRY TO DO A SINGLE STEP!! Even foreigners who came to India to study this dance find it difficult too, but they never mocked, they paid our culture the respect it needs and followed! Now looking at our idols, it's completely disturbing! Even though I left the dance classes as I shifted from there and started for Hip hop classes, I still pay respect to our dance! At many occasions I had to play, following these procedures! The neck movement alone is not a problem as it is used in hip-hop and break dances, but once you show the mudra gesture, it's over!! I hope these idol's and their Ent. someday reflect on their reactions and pay respect.

Honestly there is a never-ending racism towards indian in South Korea overall, and this racism is truly reflected in the entertainment industry as well. For example, many Indians in South Korea actually were simply getting admitted into bars, and they were not allowed in simply because 'no foreigners allowed.' Yet these bars allow all white people in, and all darker-skinned people are basically blocked by security. And another instance with henry, in an episode of Happy Together he once again imitated and mockeed the accent of indians in korea. The worst part is I saw a comment from an indian who said and I quote, it was a "super accurate accent, and also super hilarious." I don't get why many indian kpop fans are literally koreaboos but also defend their faves at the expense of their own culture. Your "oppas and unnies" don't care about you and probably think of you as trash, at least have some respect for your culture. However, I don't think fighting racism with racism, misogyny, etc. is good so I just hold my faves accountable for their actions while also still watching their content.

First of all, For haters, promoting negative issues as many as possible is their only purpose, not sharing truth at all. And for youtubers, they do everything what they can just for having more subscribers and viewers. This youtuber is also one of them. She claimed it last time that "The song makes fun about Indian food curry and how it smells supposedly bad" but In fact, the actual lyrics were "Curry is my soul food. I can't live without it. Yeah, call me a curry addict but I don't care how you think of me.". Making fun? Bad smell? Where are they? and of course I found more her misinformation in her video at the same time when I checked the lyrics. Everybody is interested in negative gossips, issues but the problem is UA-camrs and haters also love them so much…” Can we really say Indian culture is a foreign culture to Koreans? We always learn our history in school that starts with Babar and ends with Nehru becoming the first PM of India due to some political purpose only. But we should not forget many other important histories like the 2000 years old friendship with Korea like the beautiful love story as known as the great marriage of Indian princess Suriratna and Korean king Kim Suro in AD 48. Due to this couple, the most powerful clans in Korea are still the Kim clan and Heo clan now. Due to this couple, most of Koreans still have the Indian mitochondria genes. Due to this couple, Indian government and Korean government, Indian companies and Korean companies have been fighting together like one huge family in every global economic war. Many UA-camrs upload a bunch of videos with only exaggerated gossips for making more subscribers and views. They only show you few problematic idols that were rude to India but never show you the rest 99.99% of the idols who have never been rude to India, Indians, Indian culture because UA-camrs believe the rest idols cannot make Indians angry at all. We are one of the biggest countries in the world and Korea is one of the advanced countries in the world. When we work together and protect each other like as one huge family like we did 2000 year ago, we’re invincible in the any next global crisis and can have better future, the better next 2000 years together at least. Don’t be too harsh to your bothers and sisters with their tiny mistake. You don’t know how huge money and longtime Koreans have been spending for preserving so many ancient Indian heritages from India. King Suro and Queen Suriratna couple already showed us how the both counties could be strong and rich when we worked together as one family. We can do it too like they did it.

Hello I am Korean. I am currently learning about India and Hindi language. I seriously say sorry for this. I apologise on behalf of the idols. There are still many misconceptions about India in Korea. But slowly things are changing. Many Koreans take Hindi language these days in university. Also I want to clear one thing: Many idols move their head like that because in Korea, people think that this is "Bollywood dance". I also thought that this was Bollywood dance. But now I know that this is religious. I have told this to my friends also after seeing that this dance hurt Indians. I think that some of them make fun of the dance because some people find it funny. But for the others they just think that Indians are greeted this way. As for curry, it is just a famous dish in Korea. This is why we think about it when we hear India. Like Kimchi is from Korea. Once again I say sorry if this has hurt you. We hope that the country relations get better and we know better about each other. Namaste🙏
Just to correct, the dance is not "religious". It's a classical form which holds lot of respect. However that movement is used in bollywood dances but there they are not mocking a culture. To respect our country (India) and to spread its culture should be the first priority of ours as being an Indian.
Long but please read
People who think it is not much, just remember that a powerful person has the power to build opinions about something and someone you don't know anything about.... I remember when the whole t-series vs pewdiepie thing came around, how it turned into india vs t-series thing and how the jokes suddenly turned racist.... H3H3 straight up went attacking Indian looks, movies, dance(didn't even sound funny). That Israel dance thing.... Ooffff... Such a headache
Idols know what they are doing.... Many idols are called out multiple times and enough backlash is faced that they get the message, regardless they still get involved.... I understand in MVs and movies/shows they are not in control, but variety show appreances?? Just to get some laughs and screen time they'll do anything?
People like Henry really disappoint me cause he has done this multiple times and I guess he is Canadian (like there is such a big diaspora of Indians, come on sir)
A one time mistake can be acceptable, doing same things again and again isn't.
So what is so difficult to understand?
most kpop boy group delusional fan girls will still defend Koreans even if they are attacking their motherland.

Fun fact: the dance they were trying to mock is actually one of the most difficult dance to learn in the whole world (bharathanatiyam). I have seen many foreign dancers coming to learn (search kalakshetra) so that their dance will be easy to perform.
And after doing that step, they laugh as if it's funny 🙄🙄🙄ikr, it's the most difficult dance to learn. Just because it's an indian dance doesn't mean just join our hands while bopping our heads. I was really very disappointed after seeing blackpink mock our dance (I'm not a blink tho), some indian blinks say "blackpink don't know about the steps" like WTF. They should have searched about it before doing that shit. When they did that step, it was ok but when they laughed on it then I literally got triggered. Not only blackpink, but other gg too.

This!!!

It’s been 2021, and people still think that Aladdin belongs to Indian culture. He is Arabic!!
As an Indian, I really don't have a problem with people adapting to our culture. Wearing bindis, using our clothes/accessories or using an Indian culture for aesthetic would also look beautiful. The problem is when they look down upon it or make fun of it. Our culture isn't just a curry or namaste designed for their entertainment! I hope they stop this troll.
Actually they shouldn't even be using our clothes and jewelleries. If they were appreciating our culture then it would've been okay but they aren't. They wear our clothes and jewelleries just for asthetic. They are not learning anything about our culture either, for them to be wearing our clothes. You won't see people of diff. Races wearing Chinese, Japanese, Korean, African cultural clothes or jewelleries because if they do they are gonna get bashed. We on the other hand don't say anything. Why shouldn't we preserve our culture like people of diff. Cultures do?
@@kunikayadav4687 Well I've witnessed people using Japanese culture for aesthetic. If you watch Bollywood there are so many examples. The song Odani uses Chinese aesthetics. Many belly dance beats like Dil Cheez Tujhe Dedi, Dilbar, Mashallah etc are taken from arabic culture. Personally, that's the whole point of having colors and clothes in a culture. To represent. I have a problem with them using it to degrade/make fun of something. Otherwise its fine for me. To each their own I guess.

I love k pop , but some acts is like worst they could ever do.
The fact that they quickly notice cultural appropriation or racism when it’s directed at them just goes to show that they’re not uneducated... they know full well what they’re doing theyre just ignorant and dgaf, sos but this has put me off kpop sm
Please Please don't give views to "Koreans reaction to India" especially the younger ones we don't need anyone's approval 🙏

It's going to be a never-ending-saga.
YESS THANK YOU. Why are indians so desperate for foreigners approval?
New army here however Jin from BTS doing the head bobbing in visual interview with Jimmy Fallon during dance off struck me🙁. Country comes first. Sorry K-pop and BTS
I thought only I found it uncomfortable 😶😶
underrated comment.
You are absolutely right. I was an but now I know bts is racist. They mocked our culture and also they are anti black. They gave un speech and donation to black lives matter just to get sympathy.
The image of bts always portraied as nice, kind, humble and respectful towards everyone but that's not true. They gave speech at un and donate money to black lives matter just to get sympathy. All these are eyewash.
This litreally gives tears to my eyes 😭😭
I'm so sorry your culture is beautiful

(P.S - not showing hatred to kpop and Korea or Korean culture coz I also love Korea and K-pop but our country is our first priority) 🇮🇳❤️
i think CLC one just drew Bindi and its okay to wear accesories and even bow down and said Namaste Humbly
but others are horrible
*I'm living in S.Korea for 15 years now, believe me, even my neighbours here are racists towards me! They are extreme racists.*
Please share some incidents.
@Gayathri Sankar Why you are accusing him of lying?! He has lived in Korea not you!
Thanks for bringing these issues
Just a quote from someone’s comment though…
“…And also we should very be careful of using the term “cultural appropriation”. Everyone tends to think “That’s my culture!” just because both look similar or misinformation about the origin of the culture. Everybody is interested in negative gossips, issues but the problem is UA-camrs and haters also love them so much…”
Can we really say Indian culture is a foreign culture to Koreans?
Oh so the idols making stereotypical indian dance and laughing mockingly after they did that are not ridiculing us?
And where did Bindi originate?
Stop defending these people.
The ridiculous curry song is racist af
Imagine a famous indian artist making a song on korea but choses the lyrics “oh kimchi, i love it even if it smells bad”
Then appropriating korean culture and making fun of how they dress and stuff.
The entire curry song was an affront.
I'm just shocked by Henry
Some people say it's the company's fault, but it's the idols fault too he/she should know what they are wearing and if they are using them as props they should study about the thing they are using. This is not just for Indian culture but for all the cultures in this world.
if there is mocking in MV's it is company's fault but the idols themselves are mocking on stage , it is idol's fault!
First thought of me for superm mark, ten and taemin : I was quite upset about them doing that to a song not even related to India or Indian culture
Second rosé and jisoo doing the dance with the namaste gesture I have nothing to say about that not that I'm taking their side (I'm so sorry I'm an Indian my self but I don't take or know Indian dance so if I offended anyone please forgive me!)
Nct : again can't say anything about that
WayV : this is not Lucas's fault here its the stylist so to the stylist and sm for agreeing to the jacket SM WHAT THE HECK!?
CLC : hmmmm about that sometimes I also draw the bindi like that and her saying namaste with out anything inappropriate is kinda ok to me I think that the members were surprised by what sorn and yeeun did
(I'm an Indian myself and these are just my thoughts I don't want to offend anyone)
Imagine how they would feel if we mocked them.....but we won't.
Indians are racist too
Indians are racist for east asian looks
Indians are racist for their county too ... I mean for North east people.. They call us chinese .. Would spit on us🙂
Many a times bollywood had copied kpop songs
After puja lord's idol are misplaced.. Sometimes at garbage or bank of river without any respect...
Wearing our Indian jewelry and outfit amd doing some moves is okay... ...appreatiating it is okay ....but mocking it is not...if they laugh at it in a sweet and appreciative way it's okay...but plz dont laugh.
Honestly we kpop fans should not be blindly accepting the disrespectful things that our favs do, like literally when the blackpink ganesha scandal happened i was really hurt and offended and I tried to address my feelings by talking about the company , ik the girls don't have enough creative freedom and its the production team that does everything ,but I was attacked by their fans and what really hurt was that some desi blinks literally tried to justify my feelings by saying they were not offended and even I shouldn't be offended, its really silly how people put celebrities over their culture, religion and identity, also kpop really makes me frustrated they are so misinformed about south Asian countries ,and I hate that even the idols who lived in places with massive population of South asians are so ignorant sometimes its not just the company but even the idols themselves who are disrespectful, and if you educate them then some immature fans attack you or the idols themselves ignore it instead of apologizing and learning from their mistakes, our culture and the black culture are always appropriated and disrespected , now that kpop is in such a global level ,instead of just expanding their market, making english songs they should educate their artists and be careful, We feel so alienated because of all of this, I literally stopped stanning Blackpink and Gidle because of the ca they do in almost every comeback, I really appreciate bts, im not sure if they apologized but they are really careful and I don't think they have culturally appropriated nowadays
@@prismmioouu see you proved my point, stop justifying others feelings, if you are not offended that doesn't mean its ok, also im all in for cultural appreciation but in this case its was cultural appropriation, she wore maang thika, bindis without knowing the significance of any of these, it was used for aesthetic purposes, she didn't wear it because she loved indian culture or wanted to explore our culture, and also she did bharatnatyam mudras and made stereotypical movements and as someone who has been learning bharatnatyam since childhood I found it offensive, im not attacking or hating them but I feel disrespected and I chose to unstan them, also some of the people in the kpop industry don't realize that indian and Arabic cultures are not the same ,so in the hylt mv during Lisa's verse ,they wanted a "middle Eastern vibe" for her part which already is weird and upon that they kept an idol of Lord Ganesha on the ground while Lisa was sitting on a throne above the ground, first of all you are not even supposed to wear sandals near the statue let alone keeping it on the ground near your feet ,statutes of hindu gods are supposed to be kept in a certain way, above the ground ,not near dirt in a certain direction and they used a statue of our God disrespectfully for aesthetic purposes
@UCIaoGhpL5Z-vxw3Ndhak-3g i grew tired of them because its not always yg's fault ,the girls are ignorant as well, I was really disappointed in Rose and Jennie they lived in countries with population of Indians, ofc it was their stylists fault for the accessories and the production team's fault for the ganesha idol , but the girls willingly did stereotypical moves and mudras during radio shows and in behind the scenes vids, and its not just blackpink, there are many groups like gidle, nct, stray kids, weki meki, 2ne1, lee hyori etc., im not attacking them but I'm just disappointed
@@josephinethekummotil2774 ok, i was just trying to ask though. i like bp for other purposes, and i dont feel their too ignorant, except for the following above. and wearing stuff is okay for me i feel. whatever you feel. please stop arguing
@@prismmioouu im not arguing or attacking anybody, I just replied to your comment ,its your opinion but just don't use it to justify other's opinions
Thanks. That's exactly how i feel. I was a dead ass kpop fan back when i was like 14yo. Now, i find them cringy.
Your voice is so so good dude. U See, people are easily impressionable. They see something trendy and people following it, and they want to catch up to them. To the point that they are ok or ignorant to the rude behaviour that the kpop people show toward their culture. Me along with my friends have done a small assessment on how kpop affects society, their talents good or bad. And boy o boy what a harmful thing it is.
I HATE KPOP CZ THEY HAVE INSULTED MY CULTURE.
Wow...I would love to see your assignment. Good to know 👏👍
Hello I am Korean.
I am surprised to see them mocking and giggling on such things especially being a fellow Asian country. Or is it just to ape West??
I too hope the relations improve between two countries
@@aayushizain7271 oh okay. Thank for make me understand. And yes some are laughing. But all did not laugh. Companis should educate them on this. You right
@@poonamarora687 Thanks. Hope your interest in Hindi and Indian culture continues. 😀👍
Being Indian..... Even I didn't know that moving head like is offensive in our culture. I saw that in some some southern dance.. So I can totally understand that and about jewellery I don't think it's offensive. But curry Song is offensive
@@aayushizain7271 well it's actually religious ... I'm someone who learnt Bharatanatyam for years and its always a form of prayer but nowadays it's just considered as a classical dance
Reminder 📣📢:Half of u guys in the comment section still support this singers and will throw yourself to them if they ever come to India for a concert 💁😂
In lucas's case, who ever even decide to make that disgusting jacket, they should be stopped
Stereotyping culture is okay. They are doing what they think is RIGHT.
Whats with Aladin connection, do they think the whole India lives in Desert.
@Hilm4n jer India is not part of middle east. Aladin is a character from Arabian nights. We all know where the Arab world lies.
FYI middle East is a term given by USA which make no sense. From India perspective its West asia and North Africa
😑
Since when streotyping culture is okay lmao sis
@@Tyong.11 stereotype means having a general perception about things, or simply put first thing that comes to your mind .
Koreans generally share Americans world view, hence they reflect the same.i.e. they treat White Americans like gods.
Just tell me this how 'lean on' video is not offensive but a small Indian gesture by arrogant korean artist is.
Stereotyping gives you an idea of country
Prejudice gives you hate.for example we all know Indians are hated by Americans and Europeans alike, its just that Indians don't want to admit it. Just a little bit of history research will help.
Its up to you what you find offensive.
@@enslavedmind if I had a dollar for everytime you said something smart , I'd be broke.
Idk what to say. Ppl are so much obsessed with k-pop and about South Korea whereas they don't even give a f*ck about our country and cultures. Guys there are more singers and gems in our country too like Ar rahman, armaan malik and so on. Let's appreciate our country ppl more 🇮🇳 . What's more worse is indians hate their own country saying bc of the discrimination and racism that exists here. OK LET'S BE HONEST WHICH COUNTRY IS DISCRIMINATION FREE ? WHICH COUNTRY IS FREE FROM RACISM? Things like these exist in every corner of earth. Ik india has its own problems But let's atleast appreciate the fact that no country is more diverse than India. Let's remember our freedom fighters like Bhagat Singh, subhash chandra bose and many more who lost their lives just to save our country and cultures and we ppl are completely forgetting our own country and appreciating all these k-pop and korean stuffs (it's ok to love and support them until they too respect our culture). REMEMBER your country is giving you a place to live, your country is giving you a food to eat 🇮🇳
Haven’t they heard of Shashi Tharoor ? we Indians have enough accomplishments to shut anyone but we prefer to stay humble and respect everyone . I love my country and I’m not even mad at those who mock our culture in fact I pity them for being unlettered about india .

Yes its absolutely true that our country and our culture come over every thing else.
Therefore we should try to promote our country's culture as much as we can. So that more and more people will get to know it and hope that after getting to know about our culture they will not do such ignorant performances and make fun of it.
To respect our country (India)
