I Built The Worlds Strongest RC Basher From SCRATCH!
Вставка

- This is the most upgraded basher I've ever built! Its bashed off a 1/8 Scale Arrma Outcast/Notorious but its almost completely upgrades! This RC Basher is better than any Arrma or Traxxas I've ever owned! This includes upgrades from Arrma EXB, M2C, Vitavon and GPM!

Building is the best part of the hobby. Heavily modding an old 6s Kraton next week.
Yeah it was definitely a very fun build!
Definitely!
@@EricLaermans thanks for watching!
Great video! That's what the R/C hobby is about, building, experimenting, finding new ways on doing things and sharing the fun with others. Thanks a lot for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed and thanks for watching!
Awesome build and killer flips and jumps! thanks for punishing the parts And for letting us be a part of it!!
Glad you enjoyed!
Timelapses would be awesome. Some light music and the back and its easily my faviorite thing to watch on rc cars. Honestly my faviorite part to building and adding new parts onto rc cars.
Yeah I'm actually adding more time lapses into the videos. Personally I'm not really that into them but it does tie the video together better. Thanks!
That thing is a beast. Nice build!
Thanks man It was a lot of fun to build!
Cool video, really fun
Thanks Glad you enjoyed! If you aren't already subscribed a sub is appreciated :-)
Interesting build
I'm very happy with it :-)
Superb !
Thanks!
Just catching up, that thing is a beast bro!!
Thanks and thanks for watching!
great video. This has become the best way to build them. i did my 1/8 kraton and Mojave this way and they're my best units for strength and overall fun
Yeah usually I start with an RTR and go from there but this ground-up build was a lot of fun! Thanks for watching and if you aren't already subscribed a sub is appreciated :-)
Takes a lot of guts to buy all of those parts, put it together, and then let it eat like that. Turned out really well and seems to perform fantastic, a passion project no doubt. I think for most of us though, just the stock(ish) stuff will be enough lol. Also, my vote is to keep the same format, I enjoy the sped up build process!
Yeah it's definitely not for the faint of heart but it was an awesome build :-) definitely one that's going to be in the collection for a while. Thanks for the vote on the format!
Am I missing something here bud ? What is it ? Is it the arrma outcast or notorious. They look the same to me what is the main diffrence ? Thanks bud nice rc ! @@DoRC
savagex466 The Outcast and notorious originally were basically the same truck just with different bodies. Then the outcast EXB RTR came out and it included a bunch of upgrade parts such as 7075 Towers a 7075 chassis etc. The RTR outcast was discontinued at that time. Currently you can get the RTR notorious or the RTR outcast EXB.
If I had to put a label on this truck I would probably call it an outcast EXB because it has the Outcast body and EXP differentials but the vast majority of the truck beyond that is all upgrades so it would be fair to call it either one I think. Clear as mud? :-)
sorry forgot to say i know i can read outcaste was just wondering if there was notorious parts used and wahts the main diffrence between the 2 thanks bud.@@DoRC
savagex466 some of the screws came from a notorious and there are some bearings in there I think from a notorious. The plastic part of the body mounts are from a notorious and I think that's it.
What a machine looks so cool with out the rear wing looks so different, and it just looks so right
Yeah I think it's awesome without the rear wing. It helps with self righting as well. Definitely leave the body exposed though. I have a 3D printed tailgate on mine that you can see in the video. It helps a lot :-) thanks for watching!
@@DoRC 👍👍👍
I have a Notorious that has every part here except I use the 7075 towers!! M2C and Vitavon and JBI.
Nice. Yeah it's a pretty sweet truck! Thanks for watching :-)
Go big or go home is the only way.👊Nice build bro. Very professional video.
Thank you I really enjoyed making it :-) if you aren't already subscribed a sub is appreciated!
gonna be a beast bro ill be looking forward to see it set sail 😎
It is! Got some packs through it now and it is awesome :-)
Awesome build Kenny.. 💪💪🤟🤟😍😍
Thanks man Glad you enjoyed!
Looks awesome I like the look without the wing 👍🏽
Yeah I do too. I 3D printed a custom tailgate for the body to cover the hole and it's working out really well :-) thanks for watching!
@@DoRC awesome keep the good content coming 👍🏽🤙🏽👊🏽🔥🔥
@@gerardosoler8935 will do!
I love a good scratch build! 🤩🤩 I was trying to look through that massive pile of parts and couldn’t catch everything you did. Maybe lay it all out for a one shot that can be paused to see every upgrade 🤷♂️
I will make sure to do that in the future!
Did you do anything to strengthen the diffs? I found my notorious' weakest part were the crown input gear. Proper shims helped but I might just move to exb diffs from jennys.
Properly shimmed EXB diffs in aluminum housings hold up really well. That's what I'm running here. Thanks for watching :-)
Looks really nice im sure it was pricey but man well worth it for sure
Yeah full builds like this certainly aren't cheap but it is a lot of fun! Thanks for watching and if you aren't already subscribed a sub is appreciated :-)
The basher queen carbon fiber towers are super thick I havntt bnroke any yet. Are those basher queen or M2C carbon fiber parts?
Both:) M2C bought out Basherqueens carbon business so they are on in the same.
Great video and solid build another goal in the making for sure but may be with the Notorious body...
Glad you enjoyed! I really like the outcast body but they're both cool :-)
@@DoRC yeah I like that body style as well but since you did an awesome wonton yes yes buddy I figured I'd try the notorious body either way appreciate it
Let me know how it goes :-)
@@DoRC yup will do
Is their a big difference between aluminum bulkheads opposed to plastic? Specifically in performance.
They're not going to make the car any faster or more powerful but there are a lot stronger. This means that it's less likely you'll break the ears off if the shock tower takes a hard hit and also less likely that you'll strip years because the aluminum won't flex as much as plastic will which will keep the gears in more consistent relation with each other. Thanks for watching and commenting and if you aren't already subscribed a sub is appreciated :-)
Hey man, Great Video. Im doing a similar build.
Can you tell me what motor mount this is or do you have the part number of it?
Thanks 🙏
Motor Mount is stock. The center diff mount is a generic aluminum one I got off of Amazon. I wouldn't recommend it though as it didn't really fit well. Hot racing makes one that I've used before though and it's good.
That's a beaut 👌
Thanks :) It was a lot of fun to build
What happened to the M2C rear shock tower brace? Its in the beginning of the video but not in the end of the video. Did you drill through the carbon fiber rear shock tower?
I explain it at the end of the video. The first tower actually broke right at the brace. It didn't break where I drilled through it but it did break right at the edge of the brace. The brace doesn't allow the carbon fiber to flex enough and it failed. I replaced it with a new tower for the second part of the video and had no issues after that.
Great video as always, the only thing you forgot is indestructible body
Yeah the industrial bodies are really cool The only thing I don't like about them is that they're very heavy. I've also been having a hard time getting a hold of them lately. I found that a stock body properly reinforced lasts a long time. Thanks for watching!
Love your videos and great build, just curious was the estimated total cost of this build? A new subscriber and will be watching all your upcoming vids… nice work
As a scratch build minus electronics You're probably looking at around $1,500. That being said this was more of a passion project than what I would consider a practical basher build. You can get most if not all of the durability that this truck has for probably half. If you start with an EXP brand new, stick with the stock electronics and sell off the stock parts as new when you upgrade a This can be done at least reasonably economically.
Do you have the part number for the rear bumper?
Not sure about the specific part number but it is the RPM 6S Arrma front bumper. Because the screw holes are the same front and rear it'll fit on the back as well. Thanks for watching!
NICE.!👍 👍 👍 👍 👍
Thanks man I appreciate it :-) I definitely enjoyed making it! If you enjoy my videos a sub would be awesome :-)
wow. sick build man. I think it is worst the money to build it from scratch.
Yeah it was a lot of fun! I think I probably could have saved money if I had just bought an RTR took the pieces off it that I needed and then sold the rest off but that's okay :-) thanks for watching!
Awesome video
Any way you can list the parts ?
I know it’s a lot of them so I understand if you can’t.
I'll try:
M2C chassis
M2C chassis braces
M2C front rear and axle shafts
EXB stock differentials shimmed
Vitavon front and rear bulkheads and hubs and knuckles
RPM arms
M2C front and rear hinge pin setups
M2C carbon Towers steering top plate and Ackerman bar
Hot racing servosaver and spraying adjuster
Basher Queen Tower to Tower brace
Generic center differential mount though I don't recommend it cuz it's the only thing that didn't fit properly
M2C carbon servo mount
Titanium turnbuckles from a company that doesn't exist anymore
I think that's it but I might be forgetting something
You can get titanium turnbuckles form Bam Jam Racing on EBay…
Need to see a torture test on this. Still reckon my rival mt10 and savage would last longer for way cheaper 😅
Honestly I think that the test I put it through represent a pretty good reasonable torture test. Obviously if you push anything far enough you can break it but I don't really think that represents a realistic scenario.
MT-10 maybe but Savage, unless you've put a lot of upgrades into it, no way. I've had plenty of savages over the years and they just are not up to the level of durability of even a stock modern basher. They are still fun though :-) thanks for watching!
Cool build, I'm planning to buy an Arrma Kraton 6s RTR or a Corally Kronos XTR 2022 edition. This morning i saw on amain that the Outcast 8s EXB is on sale for 400 bucks i'm really tempted to pull the trigger on it.
Yeah that's a pretty killer deal though you'll spend a lot more than that making it a really durable basher. I would strongly suggest the 6S vehicles unless you've got a bunch of money to sink into it.
@@DoRC It is a killer deal but i already own an X-Maxx 8s which is more durable and lighter. I also might get an Arrma Kraton 6s RTR V5 or a Kronos XTR someday and put a nice system in it i traded away my Sledge to make room for a new 8th scale truck.
Yeah I'm pretty much constantly selling cars to make room for new ones. I wouldn't be able to afford to do things like this if I didn't consistently sell down my collections :-)
@@DoRC where do you sell them? I bet a lot of us would be interested in bidding on your rigs on eBay? I have bought several there and had pretty good luck but would feel a lot better bidding lots of dollars knowing it was coming from a legit seller.
@boduke9428 I mostly just sell them locally. Shipping is a hassle
What's the parts list on this bad boy?
That would be a long list to go through. It's pretty much the entire M2C catalog for the car vitavon front and rear hubs and knuckles RPM arms and a few other bits and pieces though
What is your verdict on GPM Racing? Their parts have been hit or miss over the years, but recently some of their offerings appear to be very attractive and are priced reasonably. I'm still a bit hesitant to try it though.
I've been really happy with their new stuff. Actually I already have a couple videos reviewing some of it. About a year ago they got some new engineers in and really changed their processes. Since then their stuff's actually been really good.
Thanks for watching if you enjoyed the video a sub is appreciated :-)
@@DoRC That's awesome to hear, thanks!
Definitely worth giving another try
Love the video from an old newby just getting in to the rc game ended up with a 3.3 revo nitro its a blast i am thinking about building a bigger ride do you have any sugestions where to start for someone that loves to tinker but really dosent know anything lol i am 58 yousa i enjoy including the kids and grand kids so it needs to be fast and durable 😊
It really depends on what your goals are. There aren't a ton of options for large scale kits. Most stuff is either RTR or there are some rollers. What are you wanting to accomplish?
@DoRC That is the problem I don't know, l o l I have been looking at some of the arma rollers I will just be bashing around just wanting something a little bigger And Durable, I can take time building. While we learn how to run the one we have, LOL. Didn't realize how hard it was to hit a ramp😆😆 I Just don't know anything about the brands and
@@DoRC What upgrades I should think about any information would be greatly appreciated even on what to look at thx much
Well this car wouldn't be bigger than your 3.3 but it might be a really good project. Take a look at the tekno MT410. The kit is pretty inexpensive It's a very durable vehicle out of box and a lot of fun to drive and companies like M2C make a ton of upgrades for them.
@DoRC Wonderful I will take a look and really appreciate your time and input I will keep watching your videos So possibly I can learn something lol wish I would have gotten into this a long time ago
Great concept and build. Love to know how much damage your wallet took. Would be great to see a list of parts you need to do this. 👍
So it's basically the M2C beefcake kit, all of the M2C carbon fiber parts that they offer, M2C CVDs dog bones front rear drive shafts basher Queen Center brace, a set of EXB differentials, vitavon bulkheads and front and rear hubs and knuckles and a handful of stock parts from Jenny's.
I'm not sure I want to actually add all that up but it's a lot :) Like I said in the video probably not something I would recommend doing as a practical thing. It's more of a labor of love than a realistic project. You can get the vast majority of the durability with far fewer upgrades.
Thanks for watching and commenting and if you enjoyed a sub is appreciated :-) lots more cool stuff coming up!
Thanks for the list. Already subbed up. As far as the format goes, please yourself and most others will agree.
Will do thanks for being a sub!
Great build, but you could also just have bought a Maxx. We had sent ours through the same amount of damage as in this video multiple times and so far nothing has broken yet 👍
I have a maxx and It's my daily basher. I think I've owned four of them since they came out. I agree they are incredibly durable. It's the car I grab when I want to just smash something up and feel confident that it won't be broken when I get done.
That wasn't really the point of this video though The point was to build something extreme from the ground up that was almost fully upgrades.
I don't think just showing a picture of my nearly stock max and then taking it out back and bashing it would make for a very compelling story :-)
@@DoRC I fully agree 👍
Do love my maxx though! Thanks for watching :-)
I have an idea how about an xl lcg high speed offroad 1/7th basher
Infraction chassis kraton arms and 8s powered !!!
That would be awesome!
I would like to see time lapses too
Yeah it seems to be kind of split between people that do and people that Don't. I think I'll try somewhere in the middle :-) thanks for watching and commenting!
Was it worth it?
That's tough to quantify. It was a lot of fun and the resulting vehicle is a work of art but it was also extremely expensive and I think you could get the vast majority of the durability for a lot less money. You also kind of end up chasing your tail with this sort of thing because the more you upgrade it the heavier it gets which tends to find the next weak point in the chain.
Ultimately I don't regret doing it but I probably wouldn't recommend it to somebody else.
Hey yo this looks absolutely bitch'n yo. Looks badass af love'n for sho yo
Thanks man it's definitely a monster :-)
Hey if you need a badass custom painted rc body with some badass flames on it let me know id be willing to hook you with one for free no charge at all yo. Let me know.
Yeah we might be able to work something out. Shoot me an email using the address in the about section on my channel.
You know people are gonna ask for a parts list don't you 😆👈
Ugh. I'm not sure I even want to do that. I suppose I'd be willing to though if someone really wanted to know
@@DoRC haha, I'm sure if people actually bothered to do some research like you have it shouldn't be that hard.
I'm looking at getting another RC, Was looking at the Jambo as i want a short wheelbase but i didn't get on with my Kronos XTR so i'm a bit dubious. This thing looks awesome though!
👏👏
Honestly I would wait if you want to get a team Corally. The Asuga represents the first of the newest generation of these cars and I'm positive that a new version of pretty much every other style will be following along. They just announced the something something I can't remember the name of it but you can look in the community tab on my channel to see what it's called. It'll be out in a month or so and I'm guessing it's going to be either the Jambo replacement or the Kronos replacement
@@DoRC Cool, I'll take a look, Thank you mate. I was hoping they were going to release some more this year with the Asuga platform, It looks like it's much better made and more hardy than the current range, I'm just not into buggies really!
Yeah it's an absolute monster. I would definitely wait
My maxx would eat it
Maybe. I have a maxx that's pretty upgraded as well and it's definitely very durable. I think it would be a close contest between the two. This thing is a tank. Thanks for watching and if you enjoyed the video a sub is appreciated :-)
I'll put my Tekno up against it!
Teknos are super tough trucks. My MT410 was my go-to for a long time. Is yours upgraded?
Tekno's are great, but you'd loose that battle my friend, no way it holds up against a Beefcake Outcast, minus them shock towers, I would have gone M2C 7075 for the tiny bit more weight.
Now if it's M2Cified Tekno vs this Outcast.... 😮😮 That's a battle that needs to happen. BUT I bet the Tekno's handle better😍✌️
@@3SonsRC Yeah the tekno would definitely a little better. So far I've been really impressed with these towers. I did break one but it was completely my fault and the replacement has held up to quite a bit of abuse especially given that it doesn't have the rear wing to protect it.
But yeah like I said in the video if you want ultimate in strength the M2C 7075 Towers will be the way to go. I thought it was pretty cool to have this entire thing upgraded with under 2 lb of extra weight though
@@DoRC Yes M2C everything. I don't use the word unbreakable very often but
.. 😁
I had one of those. Other than a few things like the hinge pins it was very stout
One heavy car, low kv motor to keep from burning up.
Believe it or not it only weighs 2 lb more or about 15% heavier than a stock one. That's why I went with a lot of carbon fiber to try and keep his light as possible.
