That's a brilliant new piece of kit, I couldn't believe the details on that boat with the pots on at the end, you could see the bow n wheel house and the fish. AMAZING 👏
I think the footage recorded for the garmin is great. Really helps to show us where the fish swim at different depths. Crazy it picks up the sabiki rig and shows the mackerel darting towards it. Would love to try this on a carp lake to understand where the carp hang out. Thanks for the great content. It’s great to see your channel grow and grow.
John, I must say, that live footage from the Garmin is brilliant! The first video of your line dropping in, and the mackies going straight for it was stunning.
Thats a cracking bit of kit that! The definition is unbelievable even at serious depth aswell! Its amazing seeing how the fish react to the sabikis literally the minute they hit the water! Nice couple of blues aswell, they really are a stunning fish! Great job as always! 🎣🎣🎣

What a truly amazing piece of equipment, no more fishing where there aren't any fish. Its unbelievable that you can actually see individual fish and watch them taking the bait, they really hone into it don't they? How I wish that we'd had such things back in the 50s and 60s when I did most of my fishing probably over a barron patch of seabed!
That was incredible John. Thank you Garmin for such a wonderful experience! The detail was incredible! I hope you are able to incorporate this technology into 'what you do' John. Fabulous video my friend - as always. My Best wishes to to all the family.

Eh up John and Oh My God, that is a smashing piece of equipment and I'm no fisherman. It really brings what's below the boat into clarity and from there you can cherry pick what line, bait and depth you need to fish. Really really interesting and again from a non fisherman xxxx Keep Safe and love to all the family!
John, considering The Fishlocker is the best and most watchable and entertaining fishing and outdoor channel on the tube you could certainly justify having that piece of kit on your boat. I guess they are not cheap but considering the effort you put in plus showing how good it is I am surprised Garmin dont let you keep it or at least come to some arrangement on price.
That is definitely without question John I cannot wait until your next videos are released especially the foraging ones ,as you know autumn is apon us so what is on the the schedule for this season? Regards Ken.
Mad technology and such an asset for boat fishing. I had a fish finder in my kayak but actually didn't personally like it. But that was probably don't to my lack of knowledge. Sold the kayak along with it now.

I've never heard of bananas being unlucky before now. My dad who was from a fishing family knew loads of them and would never allow himself to fall foul of them. Being a young boy at the time I didn't know and was chastised a few times for bringing bad luck. Two that spring to mind was counting how many fish we'd caught before we'd finishing as this apparently ensures you catch no more and the other was to whistle as this whistles up the wind and not good in a small rowing boat a good way out.

interesting that you should mention the air bubbles, in Norway some skippers will stop you landing a fish until it has expelled all the air, so it can go back nice and easy
Another great video. I was into land and seabed mapping, characterization and visualization when I was working on the water. We ended up buying a Garmin system for our boat; It worked excellent for our general need of gps location on charts . We had a separate sonar and radar. What couldn't be easily done back then was dataset integration (Sonar and radar feeds, GIS files, depth, sample grab surveys, satellite derived data, etc.). I was able to cobble together a 3d data exploration "Frankenstein" setup using open source GIS, CAD and file conversion experimental software that we used I'd be very interested in the capabilities for that now.
Now then Troy, I’ve had a few units over the last few years and finding one that suits is really difficult. Most have far far too many functions and menus. I guess it’s because they make one unit to suit yacht, powerboat and fishing boat. 🤷🏻♂️ Still bloody good aren’t they. 🤣👍🏻
