Yoshi player here! I would like to add that others should be warry for his (F, F, 1+4) moves. It's an advancing move that leaves his back to you for potential mix-ups (F, F, 1+ 4, N). He also has an unblockable attack from it and an INSTANT KILL too (F, F, 1+4, F). The easiest solution is to either jab him out of any of these moves, or to back away/sidestep/sidewalk. He does not have any homing moves from backturn and his unblockable variants are linear mids. Hope this helps! Too much to break down in a single comment but one thing that people do not realise because it's hard to sidestep usually is that her tracking is not very good, especially in backturn/stances. Hypnotist is usually a gamble but if you're at the wall and she is in heat it's best to eat the low and block the mid unless you get a good read on them, because the mid can be up to +20 at walls, while the low is punishable, so Xiao is more likely to use the mid first if she still has lots of heat time left, as she will be able to go back into the mixup again. If you manage to block one even one of his spin kicks, immediately mash WS 4 on them. Even if they finish the string with the mid kick, you still get to hit them first. Duck the second hit of Yoshi's 3, 1 string and launch. Same with the second hit of Yoshi df 1, 2 but be fast because the string does jot stop there. The meta in high level tournament play is offense while minimizing risk, because usually all mistakes are heavily punished. They need simple, reliable moves and gameplans that are effective. Yoshi is strong but the reliable tools he does have, other characters do far better. Movement, mixups, frames. His strong tools like flash, spinning evade, unblockable setups, etc. all need reads and carry risks. Risky gameplay isn't viable long term across tournaments at the highest level.

So what I’m hearing is make sure to look out for flash but if you just try to counter he could still full launch you and kill yiu so just hole for the best
You gotta work on timing and having the ability to refrain. If the yoshi doesn't know when you're gonna hit they cant flash you. Easier said then done admittedly
There isn't many weaknesses of yoshi in tekken 8 and I believe you should use every weakness you could use like as kane&trench said that yoshi doesn't have i12 or i13 ws punishers and has one of the worst i11 ws punisher in game. So use your -13 lows more often than using them against other characters. Of course don't spam, there's a thing called low parry and ws punisher doesn't mean a thing if he flashes you before you could hit yoshi with that low but you get the point.
Also one of his biggest weaknesses that wasn’t talked about in this video is that he has bad tracking. If he wants to do a fast tracking move in neutral he has to commit to cd2 which is -13 and can be sidewalked. And 3~4 is not tracking it absolutely dies to ss and sw left. Sometimes even when the first hit connects the second whiffs and you can get a full whiff punish on him.
You just have to hope the Yoshi confuses himself doing Yoshi things.

I'm just red ranks and might be pretty ignorant. But with one of the previous videos I saw a T7 Leroy fest in high level because he's so broken. Why does this not happen with T8 yoshi?
The meta in high level tournament play is offense while minimizing risk, because usually all mistakes are heavily punished. They need simple, reliable moves and gameplans that are effective.
Yoshi is strong but the reliable tools he does have, other characters do far better. Movement, mixups, frames. His strong tools like flash, spinning evade, unblockable setups, etc. all need reads and carry risks. Risky gameplay isn't viable long term across tournaments at the highest level.
Thank you! @@Deltaclaw
Its because he isn't anywhere close to the best character people just really really like hating him no that some of his moves are better in t8
not the butt attack 💀💀💀💀💀
12:42 can you not hold forward and interrupt it?
you can actually do anything there and interrupt it hopkick toekick the weird flip kick like actually anything other than rolling will stop it he just doesn't know what he is talking about most of this video is misinformation you should go watch delusional lobo he just made a video correcting everything
We all need help in this match up. Pray. Lmfaoooo. Truly busted character, lets see how long it takes for bamco to do smth about it
Please do Hwoarang and Lili next.
Since we're here.. let's talk about how broken hwoarang is.
Does mainman not use a stick anymore?
U can also jab float or heat burst Yoshi flea ass
18:05 Yes, I can clearly see your finger.
Good stuff

Please do kuma next ;-;
Finally i can beat my friend
It's easy to beat Yoshi, if you see him on loading screen use alt+f4
what happens if you get hit by the first db3 then block the second one on reaction does it automatically block on his own too?
So what I’m hearing is make sure to look out for flash but if you just try to counter he could still full launch you and kill yiu so just hole for the best
You gotta work on timing and having the ability to refrain. If the yoshi doesn't know when you're gonna hit they cant flash you. Easier said then done admittedly
Remember when they nerfed Lili's oki/wallpressure in heat?
How did this space ninja get under the radar???? ._.
because unlike lili thats all yoshi has
It is futile to win against us Yoshimitsu mains.
Can you do a video playing Tekken 5 DR online with an emulator
How to beat Paul will be "play anyone but Paul"😢
i love these videos
