  • A day in the life of Panko Factory Owner in Tokyo Japan and insight in the typical Japan working hours for someone who runs a panko factory. Also, you'll see the working hours of Japan factory workers. We follow the factor owner, Sho, from morning until evening to see what his Japan work day and work life in tokyo is like as well as how he spends his time before and after work. He has a 10 minute commute to his Japanese office, which is in the factory itself. I hope you enjoy his day and the Japanese work culture in this video.
150 years ago, from the Meiji Period Japanese used sliced bread to make panko, a Japanese word PAN meaning bread, and KO meaning powder. Japanese chefs started using sliced bread as a cheaper ingredient than overseas bread crumbs commonly made from crushed biscuits or crackers.
Sho is a 3rd generation owner of the NAKAYA PANKO FACTORY a family-run business started in 1948 by his grandfather. It’s the only truly Made-in-Tokyo Panko factory, as they are the only ones who bake their own bread in factory to create their panko, a flaky bread crumb commonly used as the crunchy coating in fried Japanese food. Their panko is so highly appreciated amongst Japanese chefs, that it’s used by 60% of the Tonkatsu restaurants listed in the 2021 Japan Michelin Guide as well as small mom & pop stores and even chain restaurants like Gyutan Negishi. In his industry, it’s widely believed that if you use Nakaya’s Panko, the restaurant will likely become popular.

I think that even if one of the partners isn't working fulltime it's important to help out with chores. It strengthens your relationship because you're doing things together, including the things you might not like. It also frees up time for the both of you to spend more quality time together, or with the family. Of course, one can expect the parttimer working or unemployed partner do more of the chores, but still.

I was the Administrator for a company in America. I cleaned the toilet, washed the floor, the sink in the bathroom, swept, cleaned windows, shoved snow during the winter, etc... I never asked anyone to do something I was not willing to do myself.
When I asked my employees to do the same, and tried to start a rotating scheduled,
the response I got from all of them was... "It is not my job!" Obviously, they used the bathroom daily while at work, and I felt that it was unfair I was the only one cleaning it. I finally decided to change the rules. If you are not part of those willing to clean the toilet, you are no longer allowed to use it.
Some of the employees got offended, some tried suing the company, some even tried to sue me personally.
The difference between cultures is staggering, and perhaps the very reason we are not good at anything anymore. It starts at school and at home. Children in Japan are the ones who clean the classroom after they have their lunch. Yes... they clean their tables, move chairs and table around, mop the floors, and empty the trash after they are done, and before they restart classes.
Try to tell an American kid that. Try to tell their parents that their children will have to wash the floor of their own schools after lunch. They will most likely say you are abusing their children, forced labor, underage labor, etc... etc... etc....
We have to change. We are being left behind in every single aspect of a modern and civilized culture.
Our way of thinking is not only wrong, it is also outdated.

Most applications for a job in America have a brief description of the duties expected from the applicant and include the phrase "and any other duties as designated by the manager".
It is always in the Contract, and that is why they tried suing me, and lost.
Having a job, and working are two different things. People don't want to work, they want a job, and a paycheck at the end of the week.
They spend the entire week hiding from costumers, on their cellphones talking and texting on the phone, they are incapable of doing anything, anything at all besides that which they deem to be "their work" and not a drop more.
My employees would walk pass a piece of paper on the floor a dozen of times a day, and not bother to pick it up and throw it in the trash. I used to say... "These people don't bend over even for sex".
They hated me, and the fact that I was giving orders because I am an immigrant who had risen above them. It was a form of sabotage.
Yet, when we hired someone, and that person did a good job, I was the first one to compliment them, and offer a raise before they even thought of asking for one.
It is wrong to generalize but, the fact that I came to this country, worked hard, did well in my professional and personal life and achieved a good deal of success, own my own home, have a nice car, and enjoy some of the good things life has to offer didn't come for free, and any American who works hard knows what I am talking about.
People who think they are doing the boss a favor, just because they show up to work (as I sometimes heard from my employees), fail themselves, and no one is responsible for it but themselves.
Funny.... and at the end of the week, they complain about their paychecks, and say... "See... that is why I don't do nothing!"
Some people think the world should be thankful they are in it, and that the rest of us can't live without them. They have a hard lesson to learn, but I doubt they will actually do it.

@@dansmith1661 reducing efficiency is not a valid concern. It takes very little effort to clean a toilet. I doubt companies have gotten to the point where they are so optimized in their work that taking a small break to clean a toilet would affect profits negatively. My experience has been that most workers spend a good chunk of their time doing nothing productive anyway.
Also, the fact that you singled out women managers makes me reluctant to trust you on the subject. Women aren't some collective hivemind who all act the same.
