You're genius that you could get that it's about imessage at the first watch. About blue color someone said it may represent the rare or precious things like blue tint in painting hundred years ago, blue roses which never exist (so IU has to paint every single petal by her own)
@@yinampersandc435 Aww thanks! Lean is talented that way. 🤣 it’s her autistic, genius brain I think. 🤔 I like that possible meaning of the color blue. That’s beautiful. 💙💙 - Lv Loo
This song is part 3 of a 4 part song/story that started with You & I which was released in 2011. If you remember the MV for You & I it was about her traveling to the future, specifically Dec. 31st 2019, where she hoped to meet her boyfriend again, where they could be together. Cause he was in a coma like state in the 2011 MV. In 2019 IU released her Love Poem Album which contained two songs , Above the Time and Blueming. Above the Time, which uses many of the same elements tying the 2 songs together, takes place on or just after Dec. 31st 2019. The couple are both awake and living in the same time but different dimensions. The boy is trying to figure out how to get to her. In this MV the shaking earthquake type vibration is introduced telling us something usual is about to happen, something that is outside of time a dimension. The next scene shows the couple together in a secret garden (this reference appears in Blueming as well). So the vibration is like a disturbance in the force if you will, that has allowed them to be together for a short period of time. At the end he lowers a ladder to her and she disappears. This brings us to Blueming. Which opens with an earthquake type vibration. IU immediately knows what thus means, another disturbance in the force and she heads to the mail box. The couple are now in the same time and dimension but are still separated this time by a wall. Now they can communicate with cell phones sending text balloons back and forth and some times can send physical things to each other. The end promises a happy ending. Part 4 is Strawberry Moon. It was released in Oct of 2021, ten years after You & I. IU is waiting for his promised return at the Strawberry Moon. We then see that the couple has in fact been together for some period of time and we are treated to memories of that time. We also see them sitting in the clouds enjoying being together. He however, gets up and steps across a couple of planets. She let's go of him and doesn't follow. He still has a wanderlust tht needs to be dealt with. He promises to return by the Strawberry Moon. We see him waiting for her, and looking a bit concerned mother at all sure that she has waited for him. She finally finds the locket he gave her with his promise engraved upon it. The MV ends with her meeting him under the Strawberry Moon. Theee are a number of' easter eggs in You & I that are also in the other 3 MV's further cementing their connection. The train Fantasy Express appears in some form in all 4. Butterflies also make an appearance in all 4. The vibration is present in the 1st three, clock gears appear in some form in 3 of the 4, the drawn clock on his wrist in the 1st 2 MV's, etc. There are others as well. WHILE this is the only time, at least to date that IU has used 4 songs to tell a story there are others where she has told a story over 2 songs. Through the Night and With A Determined Heart to Forget You, Holssi and Shopper are two examples.
Thank you ❤️ I interpret the ending a little differently: the balloons flew away precisely because they are now about to meet in "real life", even if she is super nervous (but she prepared carefully for the date)😅
The only reason I didn't see it that way is that, meeting in real life, they would continue to text still, but the balloons flying off signaled an end for me. I prefer your interpretation though lol - Lean
@@LeanAndLooReact I like to think that they are only flying away during the date, like when you text before a meeting, than you see the other person and turn off the phone 😉

The song seems to parallel (predict?) IU's own relationship. Getting back in touch with someone from her past. First texts, then calls then meeting up again.
IU loves using colors and playing with words even number like age in her lyrics and MVs. Edit: I wonder what IU song you will be reacting next, I hope you react to her song Zeze which have a special MV clip with eng subtitle. It's quite controversial at the time of release with controversies such as, iirc, plagiarism since the song talks about a characters which was based on a book, and that IU was using them inappropriately in her lyrics. Of course, it was later found out that the massive hate IU received on that particular album have been organized with a group of people repeatedly targeting her and escalating the issues on several sns. That issue eventually died down esp. since experts said that book are open to interpretation and it is not limited to only what most people view it as (though that time was really hard on IU with several controversies arising esp. since it's her first ever self-produced album with all lyrics written by her)..something like that and I think the publisher of the book also apologized for his earlier statement?..since it's originally a foreign book translated to Hangul. That issue actually caused the book to have more sales if i remember correctly. If you want to know more, I think there are several video tavkling about that here on yt or even on google. Regardless, I actually love that song and I'm curious how you'll interpret her lyrics. Another edit: I think zeze had no plagiarism issue actually, I think it was for another song included in the album (like a bonus) entitled twenty three (don't confuse it with her title track with similar title, its different) since it was a song from her k-drama in 2015 but the composer isn't even her.
