I love the old streamers. When you do a video on the D&RG I feel compelled to comment. As I've mentioned in other comments, my Grandfather and 3 of his brothers all retired from the G&RG Denver shops. C,W Middleton was my grandfather. He was a certified boiler maker and welder. I spent many times at the shop watching and I was givin the opportunity to drive a locomotive into and out of the roundhouse. He knew all of the mechanics at the Durango shop, and I have fond memories from there as well. Thank you for all of the wonderful videos and memories. Admittedly, a few have brought tears to my eyes. Please keep up the great work you do. Again, Thank you.

Very cool models you have been showing. And the coverage of the Gathering of Victorian Locomotives was great. But I was just wondering if you are done with that coverage? I remember you mentioning that the event continued as it moved to another location. I think from Antonito to Chama, or vise versa. Did you take footage of that?
You mentioned that you thought the Colorado Railroad Museum had another C-19 in addition to 346. It doesn't, but it does have the other surviving C-18, D&RGW 318. It's not currently operable.
Nice that you guys did this as I ordered a C19 in RGS scheme last week and it should arrive in January . The long shipping is because it is shipped from US and I live in Sweden! I had a Hon3 version of this back in the 1980.s and sold of, which I regretted soon after it was sold so this should be a nice replacement for it. Cheers!
Mr toyman, can you help: Did bachmann make 0-4-0 big haulers as Aniversary models? I have 2x 0-4-0 sets now, from the late ‘90s, the roustabout and the Paul Bunyan, both have metal side rods and detail like the Annie 4-6-0. I’m looking at a set from the early ‘90s, coal creek lumber, and it looks like it has the plastic side rods like the non-Annie 4-6-0...?
@@ToyManTelevision yeah, so I found out there is 0-4-0t, and 0-4-0... according to the info I have, the T is the older model from the early 90s and has plastic side rods. The non T has metal siderods and more detail and is from the late 90s up to the mid 2000s when they stopped making em... I have the ‘92 coal creek lumber co #90017 arriving tomorrow, I can then compare the 2 models side by side. Every time I think I know it all about big haulers, I see something I haven’t seen before... there’s a lot of stuff. Even found a red Santa hand car, I was convinced there was only green and white...
What can I say but I would like to be able go with you guys and experience the things that you do. It's great to see the real ones and the models. I always stop when I'm down in the Ogden station and look at the models of the "Big Boy" and the gas turbine . I used to call the engine crews for the "big blows ". Thanks again for your work 👍
@@ToyManTelevision The "Blows " always fascinated me. The older "Hog Heads " used to bitch when they were called for them but they complained about everything. All they did was get on the unit and go to sleep. The fireman always handled the train. They were quite a machine!
Way back in 1968, I visited Knots Berry Farm and rode on their train, my only ride on 3ft gauge. I spent a lot of time examining the locomotive, under a very watchful eye of the crew. I don't recall which engine it was, but it was in excellent condition, then, at least. The 346 is a nice looking model. Fix the little problems, Dale, and make it an outstanding one. Can you modify this engines main rod position to convert it to a C-18? Now that could be an interesting project. ;-)
Regardless this is an impressive model. I can see that tooling through a back yard amounts the Rosemary bushes. Karyn is such a good straight man to you. It is nice not having to squint to see the details. Just remember zincs! Never boring.
@@ToyManTelevision You are too funny. Hope the work on the outside portion of your rail road is progressing. I virtually and vicariously model through your projects. I still have 3 Z scale module calling my name. Planning on building two loops with a yard in between. Bought one of the last Micro Trains DRG sets. Don’t know if they will ever be made any more. Take care. Sunday is coming.
Besides the connecting rod of the C-18 going to the 3rd axle instead of the 2nd of the C-19, the wheel spacings are different. The 2nd and 3rd axle spacing is wider while the 1st and 2nd & the 3rd and 4th spacings are less on the C-18.
They should have shown all the doors open and the fier box has a flicker light in it also it has a working cab light. I have the rgs version. Of this its a nice locomotive
Love seeing these models of the real thing. It's the next best thing to actually owning a piece of history.
Thanks again for another great video!
Thanks!!!! Love trains. Both prototype and models. I know some people don’t get that. The like the prototype but think models (toys) are silly.
That is a very nice loco. I am so glad to enjoy it via the money you have spent, thank you!
Thanks
I like these locos .also would like to get one . great video 👍 have a great week
Thanks. We are doing train shows this week.
That is one beautiful model.
Right!!
You are a wealth of knowledge. Great looking locomotive I think.
Thanks!!!!
Good looking engine thanks for sharing 👍👍
Thanks looking forward to running it outside

Hi again! Thanks for this! The railroad gets under your skin right? Railroading families. That was once a thing.
Hello from Detroit Michigan happy Tuesday

Hi. Great that you have one coming!!! It’s really really super!!!!! Sweden!!!
These things are great runners, I have a 345 and I’ve been getting great use out of it

Amazing model! I’ve been looking to get a C-19 for a while, and this only helped fuel that fire… 🚂
Hi fer it!
2:55 Accucraft is making a c-18 in large scale in brass and in live steam. Not sure if orders are available yet though.
Thanks

@@garyacker7388 in 71 I snuck into the UP roundhouse in Ogden. Every stall had a sleeping big blow. What a few minutes till they threw me out.
Thx again
Just a thought how hard would it be to replace the plastic whistle with a brass one?
Plan. A guy selling them on shapeways but we are planning to scratch build
It smell like Kenosha. Lol. In case you haven’t heard the joke it comes from the accident on Kenosha pass that involve 346

Probably but I’m good with a C19. However it seems Accucraft has taken notice of the interest in this locomotive and will be building a C18!

Dale: I am glad you are fluent in Autocorrect! Waiting (mostly breathlessly because I am short of breathe) for the next episode. Rail on!
Hi. Zincs. I use a tin based alloy. Hate zinc. Sticky goo. Anyway it’s a great locomotive right?

nice engine, as for the brass look iv been happy with my gold leaf paint pen or bronze... used a fine paint brush and the paint, very brassy...
I’ll give that a try!!

As I have asked before, who makes a brass whistle please?

By Dylan Hutson. On shapeways
I’ve decided to scratch build. Funner.
How's the outdoor track comming?
Great!!! I’ll post a photo to the community tab. Right now!!
She a beauty
Right!!! Just the right size too.
Would like to see a show on the Bachmann and Accucraft long caboose
Did the Bachmann. Look for that. Don’t have the Accucraft. Yet…
They should have shown all the doors open and the fier box has a flicker light in it also it has a working cab light. I have the rgs version. Of this its a nice locomotive
It’s really great. Needs paint and some details. Simple? Mostly.
I would much rather change detail parts , paint and weather than ripping it apart to rebuild gear boxes
No kidding. A. It’s funner. B. It’s creative. C. It’s less stressful. No, let’s see, oh! It’s NOT stressful
Not as quick today!
Hi. I’m slow too. So much to do. So much screwing around
That is a great loco but it needs the tricolor-ed herald and a dark green boiler.
I'm the one that painted tricolor-ed herald on the real 346.
Coolest thing! We do LOVE the dark green. Need to change our little locomotives
@@ToyManTelevision but don't ask me to paint that tricolor-ed herald
