I realize it was 4 yrs. ago and that being said, I bought one of these in Nov. '19 based on your review....and it's everything you described and much, much more!! It is very accurate, detail wise, to the prototype...it's very unfortunate we lost this engine in 1943....she was scrapped following a wreck.
I have the exact same engine, and it's awesome, worth every last penny. :) I also did add a Phoenix PB-11 V-6 sound to my C-19, and it's very easy to do.
F Y I. The Spectrum line of large scale is not G scale it is "F" scale actually "Fn3" F scale 3 foot narrow gauge all the currently available 1:20.3 scale locomotives and rolling stock are classified by the NMRA as F scale. F scale is equal to 15 mm = 1 foot which makes F scale the most accurate scale running on 45 mm common large scale track
Exactly! Earlier USA style model trains were made in 1:24 such as Delton and Hartland etc. but they were not accurately scaled for 3ft gauge on 45mm model track so F scale was created.
The Bachmann C-19 will go around R2 track. It looks a lot better on larger radius curves but then most locomotives do. The C-19 class of locomotives is a small one. In 1:22.5 it will be a larger locomotive R2 LGB = 5', 1.42" circle, 2.56 ft. radius R2
1/20.3 Scale has been changed from G to Fn3. G is actually the guage and not the scale. the range of scales for G are 1'24 to 1/32. Fn3 covers Narrow guage from 1'15 to 1'22.5. It was decided to standardize the scale for Narrow guage to end in n3 to distinguage between narrow and standard guage.
F scale does NOT include 1:15 or 1:22.5 scale it is only 1:20.3 or 15mm = 1 foot no other scale are included, you can fact check this on the NMRA web site. 1:22.5 is G scale. Fn3 is only 1:20.3 scale 3 foot gauge and no other scales. For more info on F scale see Iron Creek Shops or Cumberland Model Engineering the owners of these sites were the ones who championed the scale and developed it with the NMRA.
Great review as always! If you are starting to get into some G Scale engines you should check out the Live Steam versions. I seen a G Scale Live Steam Shay locomotive at an Indy Train Show, it was really amazing to see it chuffing around. :)
Very nice loco, and I'm kind of disappointed with their non-spectrum locomotives because they don't really look as good as the spectrum models. Too bad theyve basically stopped selling spectrum locos beside the climax.
Hello I know this video has been few years can you tell me how difficult it is to connect it to Phoenix plug and play and does it get connected in the coal car? What’s its mini radius turn think I saw five feet? Any answer would help. Thanks
K4Robotics Athearn doesn't use Loksound. I would have to add it myself to do a review like that. It would be a tall order with as busy as I am right now.
This locomotive is not G scale it is F scale actually it is Fn3. F scale 3 foot narrow gauge all the large Bachmann locks and rolling stock in their Spectrum 1:20.3 line are F scale
This is not G scale it is F scale all 1:20.3 models trains are F scale and this model being a 3 ft narrow gauge model is commenly known as Fn3, F scale does not fall under the generic G scale category it is by itself and the F actually stands for Fine and this is why these models have more accurate detail and body mounted couplers. if you are going to post a model RR video at least know what scale the model is
You should probably change your FB name, and take the HO scale reviews out of the name, since that is what you do the least amount of reviews on any more.

That train is so cool! I have two Bachmann HO scale trains.

First G-Scale posting I've seen on the internet. Recent subscriber of yours. Thanks!

Beautiful engine! Nice review as always!

Beautiful loco. I have several of the Lehmann made LGB German and Austrian G scale locos and rolling stock. Marklin now makes the LGB line of models
G scale is just about the only one I haven't bought anything for yet. I might try a G scale layout, just to buy this one. I love it!
Good video, keep it up
Thanks for the update
waltworld No prob. Thanks for watching.
Very beautiful... I wish bachmann would do this to their ho and scale loco,s.
Very nice!
Very cool

Jason Smith cool, I'll check it out.
Nice Video
I just got mine yesterday... any tips on a good sound system for regular DC operation?

Nice looking loco from Bachmann no doubt but what is the min. curve required? the wheel base wasnt mentioned

Do one on the Durango and silverton
On the subject of the C-19 could you do a review of the HOn3 Blackstone Models C-19. Please!!
Hey james you should get the g scale dsp&prr no 18
Thx
8 years later, discontinued…. :(
#NATIONAL TRAIN DAY NEXT WEEKEND!!!!! LIKE THIS COMMENT IF UR EXCITED... WOOHOO!
that looks real
9:26 Fireman doesn't get much protection does he - he's actually stoking out in the open behind the cab ?!
i have a few locomotive requests, can you review the bachmann alco 2-6-0 and the bachmann usra 2-8-2 when it comes out?
TheBrantfordRailfan I'll do my best! I've got those written down.
***** Can you also review the Athearn RSD-4/5, with DCC/LokSound if possible? Thanks! Love the reviews!
*****
thanks! keep up the good work!

I feel like there shouldn’t be any g scale trains without sound. They have to much space to not have sound. Still nice though
It is actually F scale.
Quick question... Do you still have your MTH GS-4?
Mr. Train Yes I do.
Ok I had a quick question about it. Do you think it will have problems with the NCE DCC Hammerhead Power Systems?
Mr. Train Not that I can see, it should run on any dcc system
Alright thanks.

Nope. 'F' is for Fifteen millimetre to the foot. 'G' is a commonly used misnomer for all large scale trains but specifically it is 1:22.5 scale.
Are you ever going to build a G scale railroad in your back yard?
Ryan Hahn I'm thinking about it but only after my layout is built.
you know that a MU hose is for electricity right?
1\22.5 to 1\20.3 have been changed to F and are no !longer G.
Nope, 1:22.5 is G scale and 1:20.3 is F scale. Nothing has changed. Bachmann have made 1:24, 1:22.5, 1:20.3 and more recently 1:29.
I went on it yes I am a ten year old

EMZZRKT Oh it's the least I do anymore? 9 of the last 10 reviews have been HO scale.
