No matter what driver's car it is, if the carmaker doesn't provide good tyres, its pointless and defeats the purpose, and my, the soundproofing in this little car is horrendous compared to the Almera, and it cost almost as much as a C segment car. Most probably will become an irrelevant model in the mass market. I like that you have been honest with the shortcomings of this hyped up car.
@@jasonw98 this is the type of mentality that encourages carmakers to provide low quality tyres to their customers. Imagine if you are the type that will test drive a new car extensively before placing a deposit on it, these cheap tyres could be the deal breaker with inferior grip, noise and comfort levels provided during the test drive. Remember, first impressions are important. But lately, i noticed more and more carmakers are paying attention to tyres, just look at the new facelifted Civics, the new Almeras and those on VWs. At the end of the day, most people won't want to spend on a new set of tyres and would rather use it till the next cycle to change new ones. Just my 2 cents!
Of course if you are the new buyer you would be having whatever the shat that has been given by the manufacturer. And most of the time people in the market of this class are mostly unable to actually afford a new car anyway hence beggars can't be choosers. If you want everything up to standard, go for c segment cars. Those things are more meticulously designed and not all cheaped out
@@jasonw98 Looking at the new offerings in the B segment, things are looking up. Check out the new Almera, thats a reasonably well engineered car with lots to offer, mainly for offering the AEB safety feature across the range, good soundproofing and Conti tyres as standard, something even some C segment cars don't come equipped with.
7:44 Hmm yes, RM100K tin milo roof sound proofing. At least I can distract myself with the sweet blue leather stitching on the dashboard, lol. Mazda can't even afford to put some decent sound proofing for that much money, pathetic.
Yes it's now overpriced but the old pricing of RM85k was justifiable compared with the competition if you're looking for a car with great handling. It drove better than the Vios, the City and was even more precise and accurate than the Mini Cooper. Acceleration was superior to these cars too apart from the Mini. It had an NA engine which had great response and it had a 6-speed automatic transmission while the competitors were stuck with CVT. The car is light on its feet, had great steering feedback, changes directions without a fuss and can easily handle more horsepower than it's given. If only it was available with a manual transmission. You buy this car for the driving experience, not the space, comfort or practicality. Would I buy it now at RM100k? Nope. RM90k or thereabouts would still be ok but RM100k is a hard sell. Pick up a used one at around RM55k and you've got yourself a great deal. Much better value than a Myvi
Yeah my review is on the context of a new car. Back then, this car is superior. I remember i even asked the Mazda engineers from Japan why you put in such a premium interior? We all know Mazdas dont sell that many, how to amortised the costs? And he answered brilliantly, saying "we found a way to reduce production costs, and we transferred the savings to consumers by giving a higher quality interior instead of pocketing the profits." - this is why Mazda is my favourite japanese brand
Mazda fan here. Totally agree with Bobby's points. This M2 is on par in practicality with the Kia Picanto, but priced more than double. Madness. Biggest beef with it is the price. But Bermaz don't care right now, they are squarely focused on CUV/SUV market right now, and that is the right business decision with current market demand.

The Toyota Yaris is probably the best all rounder in my opinion if you want a B segment hatchback. Not as nice looking as the Mazda, not the best engine in class, but more practical and actually drives quite nice for what it is and very comfortable too. I've driven one, it's a nice place to be in.
It was started 88k, but now its 100k.
is it ok if i buy used Mazda 2 1.5L Skyactiv-G 2015? for the soundproofing i can install later..just need some advice for this car..tq
Have you buy the car? Is it okay? And review?
I bough it used, almost 5yr now. Still reliable, performs great. Most earlier model got issues with nvh noise, strut mount bearing, lower arm noise somethngg like dat. Engine + gbox performs great, reliable, great fuel efficient.
Beware, back seat is wayyy to small.
Which one is smaller.. this one or kancil 😆
"oh not your car ah".. who doesnt know Bobby only owns above 3000cc and now 5200cc
At over rm100k. This car does't make any sense, but that is why it is so....special. This car is just like alfa romeo, i would love to own but i wont recommend to anyone
My Girlfriend got a Mazda 2 for a good price... in comparison other cara were much more expensive
All MAZDA is over price in Thailand too! And service is very expensive!
its a not bad car in term of drive n design, but the price reli..sad..
From what I can see It's good but not good enough.
Are Mazda's reliable? Not many owners means not many complaints
Mechanically reliable if compared to Hondas and Nissans in the past 10 years record
@@BobbyAngmalaysia how about the quality , fit & finish , any rattling sound issues?
@@palaniappanplvsuppaiah1359 i have a 2018 mazda 3 sp25, no fitment issues or rattles. A little road noise but thats the only issue. Manual gearbox is extremely good too. Have done 60,000kms with no repair needed, only basic servicing as per schedule
I wonder how the owner / dealer feel after saw your review ? 🤣🤣🤣
I'm fine with the price if it's specced with EV with rotary range extender...the closest thing to owning a brand new rotary! 😬🤣
Mazda, lu punya kereta manyak mahal la, lu simpan sampai karat la dlm lu punya kilang dan showroom la.
Bobby, just saw you this late morning at NPE in your Rapide
Never seen a review that shited on a Mazda two as much as this one
It's on the context that in Malaysia it is more expensive than a Toyota Yaris or a Honda zcity hatchback by close to around $5000 USD. And I am a Mazda lover and fan if you watch my other videos. Moreover this car is 10 years in the market already
Tell that to Bermaz Auto , since Mahathir left , Vincent need to jack up the shit .
100k with 2 airbags.. Not worth it at all. This car for Anak Dato laa
Anak Dato pakai MINI, A Class, 1 Series laaa ... 😅
Bobby Ang Minat sangat dengan mazda but the price buatkan fikir 7-8 kali 😂 last2 ambil CX3 je
100k angkat mazda3 second ar
No matter what driver's car it is, if the carmaker doesn't provide good tyres, its pointless and defeats the purpose, and my, the soundproofing in this little car is horrendous compared to the Almera, and it cost almost as much as a C segment car. Most probably will become an irrelevant model in the mass market. I like that you have been honest with the shortcomings of this hyped up car.
And who else cares about tyres? You can change it anyway. Better go for the best chassis
@@nickloong That is 2021 model. How about a 2021 Hyundai Elantra? Specs like a Camry if you want.
For College girl ???? Unless her father is Vincent Tan.......Jeffery Cheah etc.....
Vincent Tan daughter don't bother look at this.. trust me.. his daddy garage dont have this model..
Agree but that was almost 8 years ago
Bought it at 72k in 2018, Gvc model, base spec. For me it's better than the base spec city/jazz/vios at that time.
But now yes. It's overpriced.
3:48 come on that guy thinks Bobby drives a Mazda 2? Pffft.
I see ppl bashing mazda i press like...
How does it compare to the JAZZ then bobby ??? 😄
Current Jazz is fucking ugly. But so damn brilliant interior and space utilisation. Second gen Jazz is pretty
Bobby Ang what do you meant current? The new design? When will enter msian market?
'Demise' doesn't sound right
mazda...better wait for the 2nd hand price 😅 hoping that it will drop to the lowest
Mazda 2nd price is quite high nowadays.
Love hate the car?
Warning!!! Incoming Mad Mazda Fans raging is on the way
But i am a mazda fan. And i find Mazda fans more confident about themselves, unlike Honda fans, very sensitive 😅🤣
Bobby Ang that why u are raging as well bobby 🤣🤣
Mazda fan here.
Totally agree with Bobby's points.
This M2 is on par in practicality with the Kia Picanto, but priced more than double. Madness.
Biggest beef with it is the price.
But Bermaz don't care right now, they are squarely focused on CUV/SUV market right now, and that is the right business decision with current market demand.
Bobby Ang is not very , its super bobby get it right 🤣🤣
@@BobbyAngmalaysia is truth, I also found lots Honda fans is bashing new almera although nvr test car.
0:49 Nissan Note ehh
No wonder tak ramai yang beli mazda ni, dalaman lebih kecil dari almera dan myvi bang Bobby ?
Jauh lebih kecil dari Myvi.
Way tooo small. Last month i rented axia from Socar for 1 week, and the following 1 week I rented Mazda 2. Well mazda2 drives good, but in term of space and practicality, my 2 kids were more comfortable in axia. I had hard time to put two carseats at the back. Fuel economy wise, the consumption is pretty good. I got somewhere around 16km/l and mind that i have quite a heavy foot..
This only good for the driver bro. Anak masih pakai CRS ok la
The ugliest car in the segment
The city and the vios should be the ugliest in the segment for now
its not CVT. skyactive engine is pristine n proven fuel efficient. anything but CVT
poor man sport sedan.
