I watch your videos about barn construction with interest. I am a bricklayer and structural engineer and have been a construction manager at, among other things, a major project in Slovakia of 1,500 dairy cows, 3,500 sows, weanling barns and fattening pig barns. I am curious to see other ways of building and executing the various disciplines. There are differences in different countries. One difference is probably the financing of larger investments and the efficiency of the construction process. Large investments must be repaid, so earnings must start as soon as possible, at least in the country I live in, Denmark. So I'm a bit curious about the build process and schedule. The schedule is tight here. Typically, the schedule is laid out according to the date the animals move in and then counting back. Repayment begins when the spade is put in the ground, either in the form of installments or through financing. In the period from when the raw house was closed until construction was resumed, no construction work was carried out. It may be for the sake of partial self-financing, so the client has financed the first stage and needs to accumulate his own financing for the next stage. In Denmark, there is a tradition of financing such large projects with loans, so during the construction period interest accrues on the loan, so the construction period is aimed at as short as possible in order to minimize interest accrual and to start earning as soon as possible. In Denmark, there is a tradition of investing when you can be approved for a loan. In Slovakia you could borrow 15% of the investment in, for example, a detached house, whereas in Denmark you could borrow 80% of the investment. This means that young couples live at home for several years to save up to build. On the other hand, they are less vulnerable in, for example, financial crises or crises on the labor market. The same situation applies in industry, where you see more worn and outdated facilities. It is a more financially sound and safer way to do it. Here in Denmark, you cannot save up to be able to build a detached house. Prices are rising so that it is difficult to pay the price increases with the savings. This means that a couple has to earn a lot of money to repay loans. Likewise the farmers, who are very vulnerable. During the corona epidemic, electricity prices rose. and oil, feed etc. Even the grocery store was about to close because of the electricity price. Of course, you don't have to brush off your finances, but it's so different to see a barn building of that size stand still for such a long period. Exciting to see the barn interior with concrete fixtures. Denmark also builds slurry tanks in concrete, with a closed cover. I think the roofing is interesting, not seen in Denmark other than tunnel halls. There is sometimes so much snow that roofs collapse. The most recent winter, with a lot of snow, led to changes in the requirements for e.g. roof constructions.

@@perkirkegaardlemming720 As for financing for this project we only pay interest on the principal until the cows go in the barn. That is the only break we get to help. It was very interesting to hear about all your experiences! We will have to work hard and live frugally but are fortunate to be able to carry on the family farm. It is really difficult for young people here to be able to buy a home. High interest rates and home prices are high. Thanks for watching and showing interest!!

@@HollcanaFarm Thanks for reply. Yes, it is difficult for young farmers to save enough to buy and finance the purchase of a farm. Many who are as lucky as your young people, to be able to take over/change generations of their parents' farm over several years, have a chance. It is positive that the young people want and have the courage for a life, a lifestyle as a hard-working farmer's family and that you parents are still part of the farm and life. I am happy to have been able to grow up on a farm, hence my interest in agriculture.
