Great job on the driveway, turned out excellent Todd. Only thing I dislike about a culvert job is exactly what you brought up first thing, overhead and underground utilities. Man, you got to remember those wires, I bumped one two weeks ago, just fiber not hot, tied red danger tape to the boom so I'd keep it in mind, think I'm get'in C.R.S.
Double wall plastic works just fine. As for depth, it just depends on the anticipated traffic. If not a lot of heavy machinery expected, then lightly packing it is fine.
Wow, where u learn yr skills? The pipe should be a foot lower at min. Also dig down 6 inches to remove top soil for drainage and to make a pocket for gravel.. yikes
Have you ever attached a bottle operen to the bucket and tried to use it to open a bottle? I have a feeling like you could probably do it pretty easily.
I have noticed that to me your quality of work has dropped off, you used to be and have more work ethic on lines, wow on this job I would have had you get a rake!
After watching your videos for the last few months I finally bought a 7 ft box blade yesterday morning and spent all day getting it dirty. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge!
For just a spit sec I thought the first log was a sewer pipe when you started digging lol. I’m always like 😱 what is that when I’m digging even after a locate 😂
Todd, I find it interesting how different contractors use different machines to do similar jobs. Some times I think a tractor with a box blade would work best, then I think a track loader with a bucket and a mastication head would be the ticket then the next video a rubber track excavator is what is needed…there are so many options and none of the are the perfect machine for all jobs. Great video. Keep the faith brother. Thanks.
@Harlan dixon man honestly a tractor with a box blade for jobs of this size is king for grading far as final product(ridge indenture) and production wise for what little stuff hes doing here, doing slightly bigger stuff youd want a dozer really and when doing practically roads a motor grader is the king of grading, my grandfather was the first asphalt pavin contractor here where I'm from and was in buisness for over 70 years, hard to beat a box blade finish
Hey Todd. Hope you're doing well. Your old L9000 has mostly been sitting. I start it up and drive it around every so often, I love that old truck. It starts up fast every time. Life has been crazy, but I have a cdl exam scheduled on the 30th. I have a trailer, and I've just about got all the pieces together to get started. It's hard to explain where the time went, still, I've been busy lol. Suffice to say, I think close to being turned loose. I got all of the paperwork and details done for starting my business. I'll probably give you a call to shoot the bull when I get everything up and running if that's cool. I probably should have bit the bullet and gone to truck driving school. That being said, I've about got things going. I've been making money with my shovel and chainsaws to cover my expenses at least. I'm looking forward to offering services with the truck and the skid steer. Eta: why didn't the tree company just cut that up?
Todd… as usual another great video…. One suggestion my friend…. Try to find music that is appealing to you and what would appeal to your audience…. Instead of the randomness that is easily found….. I know it’s tough w copyright infringement but the right music during the right timing in the video makes a world of difference w the mood your trying to capture! Keep it up !
Enjoy working in close proximity to other homes, usually someone in the neighborhood wants something done. All my completed jobs get a roadsign for about 2 weeks.
Todd what do you think about chip and tar driveways? I have a long gravel driveway and parts of it exceed a 15゚ slope and I lose traction in 2 wheel drive...
First off I love your content and learning a lot from you. Thank you! How do you go about finding out about lines or pipes that may be in the ground before doing a job?
Do you have to get permission from the city or town , or let them know you are doing a driveway for someone’s house or could someone just rent a machine and see if people would want a better driveway or extra driveway
Amazing how not once did you compact ANYTHING on your driveway and when backfilling the drainpipe??? I as a construction guy on civil jobs here in Hawaii. When I install drain pipes and theres gonna be a driveway on top we ATLEAST compact the side of the pipe and even the driveways, once you cut to the subgrade of the driveway before laying down the base course at least compact with a sidewalk roller. 1 good heavy rain I bet that roadway especially by the ditch WONT LAST FOR LONG!!🤔
Hey I love and watch all your videos! Thank you, i learn so much, it's really helping me get started in the industry. One question, i always wonder how those tilt rotator bucket attachments work with a thumb. Does it mess anything up, like if you run the thumb at the wrong angle relative to the bucket? I love those tilt rotators but I am always scared of breaking or bending the thumb or bucket. Does anyone know if this is a logical concern?
You are a true teacher. Good job. New sub. I like you explaining what and why. I'm too old to do it, but I still love to learn it. At least armchair learning.

Very interesting ! 👍👏👏🤙
I was getting worried about ya, hadn’t heard anything from you in a while lol. Great job you make that look easy. Thanks for sharing.
First driveway video that for me hooked in!
I e got to get that attachment for my bucket! 🤙
Nice work
Like your video good work
Awesome, I need you. Wanna do a video in Tennessee? Was that a coupler between the new pipe sections?
How much does this cost to have done?
Great video buddy
Todd Great video!!!
Nice!!
I must have missed something, where's the new Mack?!
I need a tilt bucket like that for my machine
Looks like a track skid steer would have made the job quicker and easier? But, you did a damn good job with the track hoe!!! Love your channel!!!
Never use plastic pipe, mistake #1, mistake #2 he didn't bury it deep enough.
Why not use plastic?
Double wall plastic works just fine. As for depth, it just depends on the anticipated traffic. If not a lot of heavy machinery expected, then lightly packing it is fine.
Me looking at You working with soil. And then looking at my child eating.. Whole table full of food..
Big Mac

Tricky entrance with all that traffic. Looks great though!
Great video and very helpful, was wondering if there should be more cover on top of the pipe
I'm doing mine with a 25 HP tractor
Slower than the bigger machines, but getting the job done.
I have noticed that to me your quality of work has dropped off, you used to be and have more work ethic on lines, wow on this job I would have had you get a rake!
Good Job, Enjoy your Videos, Keep them Coming, = Ocala Florida

Got to know your channel few days ago and liked it a lot. Congrats qnd continue with the great job you are doing here.
Greetings from Ireland buddy. Hope you're keeping well
Awesome job on building a new driveway entrance

Tanks sorry lol

Eta: why didn't the tree company just cut that up?
Todd-No need for fabric on this one? Just curious. I see some guys using it sometime, others all the time on driveways and pads.
After you had everything how you wanted it why did you have to come in and cut it with the blade at the end? Im just trying to learn
THANKS
Man Todd that tilt is the ticket! Great work buddy

Great job as always. I pay alot of attention to how you grade and spread material to get better with my tractor on my property.
I thought stabilizing fabric is supposed to be put down first.
Great work & video... but how did you join the 2 pipes?
Can the sod youre hauling off be useful somewhere else on the property?
Greetings from eastern Kentucky , keep up the good work and congratulations on your success. 30 years in excavation business myself
Todd what do you think about chip and tar driveways? I have a long gravel driveway and parts of it exceed a 15゚ slope and I lose traction in 2 wheel drive...
I appreciate your videos. I’ve learned and I’m learning a lot! Thank you for what you do.
First off I love your content and learning a lot from you. Thank you! How do you go about finding out about lines or pipes that may be in the ground before doing a job?
What's the max weight you can haul with the dump truck in this video?
i used to work for the country we used a gradall to install driveways good job good video
My boy and I love watching your videos! Always excited to see the notification of a new video!
Those pipes don’t float up out of the ground up there?
Do you have to get permission from the city or town , or let them know you are doing a driveway for someone’s house or could someone just rent a machine and see if people would want a better driveway or extra driveway
No permission is needed outside city limits. Permits are required in city limits
I thought the pipe should have been set deeper.
Looking good. Take care and have a blessed weekend and I'll see you on your next vidja.
Hello sir, would you have done anything different in the beginning before placing the culvert pipe if they were water running in that small stream?
That’s a good question. I would build a small dam to temporarily stop the flow
Nice job bedding the culvert in top soil. I’d never have thought of that.
The pipe is still sticking up way to high.
Just wanted to say thank you for this information and instruction. 👍
Keep doing you man. Like a lot of your videos.
are you calling road base "road bond" ????
Do you recommend steam rolling it afterwards? or just drive over it a bunch
I have found in most cases just driving in it works fine
When should you use fabric for gravel driveways?
Most of the time if it’s a wet area with poor drainage ability
Looks good man. Enjoy these videos.
What is the name of the tubular pipe you use? Where can I order one.
@@Anthony-v4k it’s called “double wall plastic“ or hdpe. Most construction supply stores carry it
Glad to see you again brother 😎
looks great, thanks for the informative video
Came out great !!! Great video Thanks
Nice job Todd. Thanks for the video.
The Mack still down?
Definitely make it look easy! Great job 🙌💯✔

Than my friend 👍👍👍

Getting Her Done !!!
Looks awesome bud
You always make it look so easy.
Do you bring any of ur ski loaders to your jobs especially the driveway repair?
Is base rock the same as road bond?
Most of the time it is
How much was the average load?
8 tons
Great Video! Very informative, love it
Thanks dirtworx!!!
Did you check grade on that pipe and to see what way it’s suppose to fall?
Good job Bud! Looks good.
Amazing skill!
What does a job like this one run?
Great job
Enjoy it
👍👍👍
Wish you lived closer. I have a job that needs fixed

@@DigginLife21this video was so informative for me!
Great job bro! very well explained and well done, total pro!
Thanks,,enjoyed the ride along.
How do you know exactly how deep to lay a culvert?
You are a true teacher. Good job. New sub. I like you explaining what and why. I'm too old to do it, but I still love to learn it. At least armchair learning.
Thanks for subbing!
from the Netherlands thanks for the video
I wouldn't hire this guy to do anything.
😭
Amazing. Seems to me that a lot of people (his customers and his youtube subscribers) would disagree with you.
@@theslimtoa4195 thanks for the positive vibes my friend 🙏🏻
