My greatest fear of transferring is imposter syndrome and feeling inferior that I didn't get into the school the same way the majority of others did. I don't know why tho.
wow this video has so much amazing insight for students that are looking into transferring to UCLA. I was recently admitted as a math transfer and wish I knew about all these tips during cc!!
Thank you sm for posting this! Im planning on transferring to UCLA in 2025, and I've been binge watching all UCLA transfer videos lol :) this one is super helpful!
Covid had really messed up my college application process and as well as my confidence for college and currently in community and hoping to transfer in 2024 and this video gave me so much hope and boost of confidence ! Love it
My son did IGETC and all the major specific stuff and lots of stuff you are saying and we’re waiting for college responses in next couple months! Omg so nerve wracking. He’s Hoping for UCLA. Congrats all of you!
Hey just watched your video, and very unexpected I got into UCLA, happy with has happened as it is hard to get into any college of engineering for UC campuses.
i’ve been super anxious thinking about transferring but im so glad i came across this video. i appreciate u guys for putting this video together and congrats on ur acceptance!!! im at cc rn with a 3.7 gpa and almost done fulfilling the TAP program. im hoping to transfer to ucla as a biochemistry major. im pretty much done with the igetc plan but i changed my major recently and now have 9 lower division major pre reqs left. ill definitely be done with more than half of them by spring quarter. but will having maybe 1-3 classes left. i was wondering if this would affect my chances of being admitted to ucla?
hi! i’m sorry but i don’t think i can answer this question well because of the nature of the luck and randomness involved with college admissions 😅 i will say chances are maximized when you do complete all pre reqs, so it may affect you. but there are also many other variables involved that i can’t give you a clear cut answer, for ex. you did finish tap, and if you have good ECs or essays then it may not affect you at all. all in all i’d say don’t worry too much about the things you can’t control, and focus on the things you can like your essays! and try to finish as many pre reqs as you can as well, 1 isn’t so bad, whereas 3 would probably affect your chances more.
omg im a ucla admit from csm and im so scared about the enrollment process and how signing up for classes will go or just like how I know exactly what I need to take
Hi Jessica, I am incoming transfer major in ee. Which UCLA CS classes are helpful for solely getting SWE internship as a non-CS major. I have already finished 31, 32, 33, math 61, and logic design at my CC. Or if you think clubs or projects are more helpful, then I would like to know your opinion about it as well.
Hi! You guys seem super sweet and this video was really insightful. I finished all my PIQs and uc TAP early, but when it comes to the essays I want them the best they can be. You mentioned PIQ workshops, where would I find those? Thanks!
hi!! sorry for the late response, i missed this comment. congrats on finishing your essays early! so those workshops we mentioned are actually courses that you register for at the start of fall semester, at this point it'd be too late. i recommend looking for any walk-in workshops your college or the honors program may be hosting, as well as asking people (mostly counselors and professors you trust) to read your essays!
Hi I’m wanting to apply as a cs major from cc I don’t know if I should go in as cs or applied math pls respond asap I’ve talked to my friends but idk what to do.
I'm questioned about completing IGETC as an STEM electrical engineering applicant. If I completed IGETC I will end up with 92 transfer units. I've heard about people talking about they get rejected because the have excessive units
@@lilpinky5303 Bty I'm doing EE. But I think completing the IGETC is still good. Maybe you don't need to take any GE's after you transfer. But completion of IGETC doesn't help your admit rate. Your GPA, Extracurriculars and essays is the key.
@@lilpinky5303 I am not completing the IGETC due to it will take me third year in CC. My personal plan is only 2 years. If I have time, sure I completing IGETC.
Thank you for the video! Im currently at De Anza college and I am planning to transfer soon! Hi Cece is there a way I can contact you since we have similar backgrounds ? :)
you would save money yes, but at that point i recommend just transferring from a community college. transferring from a state is actually more difficult because you're already at a 4 year. you also would save more money by going to a cc rather than a state first!
does igetc really set me apart from other applicants? i’m currently a bio major so i have a lot of classes to do for my major and the honors program already and i’m taking maximum credits per semester at cc so that i can transfer in two years. if igetc really does set me apart ig i can take an extra year of cc to finish it up.

it’s very common among transfers! just know you aren’t alone and do belong

The Nintendo switch start up and the AC NH edits 😍 I'm in love.

thank you 🥺💕

As a transfer student into any of the math fields, is it possible to switch majors still into CS with a high gpa or is it no longer an option?
Yes, they did it.
@@Dextermxck so you can go into lets say math & comp and then switch majors once u get into UCLA to CS?
❤️

What day do transfers usually get their decision in April?
If I transfer from my State College which is in another state instead of going straight to UCLA do you think I'd save money?

I didn’t finish my igetc and still got admitted
