I own one and was just telling my son that if I could only have one sportscar it would be a a 718 spyder manual…. Looks and easy to drive yet it is a GT4 ( yes it is in every way but the top and wing). You can track it, pick up the dog or the kid or impress your girl!. Top takes 20 seconds to put up or down manually once you get it! It’s a baby speedster and I think it looks better!!
These are fantastic cars and so much for the money!
I have a 24 Spyder. Totally agree. Plus Spyders will also hold value better and a Boxster

Why did you say you wouldn't pick it as a daily? Is it just the manual top or something else too?
How come the side intakes are covered? Usually only the GT4got the cover and the Spyder not.
It is an aftermarket Afterall a Spyder is a GT4 without the hard top
A lot of people add them, couple hundred dollars for OEM GT4 scoops, paint em, and install 👍🏼 it’s a roofless GT4. Why not?

Is the Cayman GTS not manly?
I love manuals as much as the next guy, but the 718 manual sucks. Gears are way too long and the shift feel is nowhere near as good as the bolt action rifle feel in the 991.2 GT3. PDK is the way to go with the 718. Traded my manual fro the PDK Spyder and it's night and day better. If I was getting a 991.2 GT3 I would get the manual.
That is definitely a common observation on these cars. The car does have tall gears which means you have to run in the higher RPM ranges during spirited driving. One positive thing is that the car sounds amazing in those higher RPMs!

Looks like Miami blue. Was offered on early 718 spyders before they moved to shark blue.
