Alan Wake ending explained...

- Alan Wake ending is a strange one. It's cryptic and hard to explain with a focus on emotion and narrative over silly little things like logic and reason. However, while it’s not entirely clear what's actually happening, there is an explanation for the finale and what it all means. Which we can work through now.
It should go without saying, of course: major spoilers ahead! We’ll be discussing the Alan Wake ending.

Thank you , excellent and succinct summary. I never could figure out what the heck happened.
Now that I started AW2, I needed SOME framework to go off of.
Thanks again, cheers!
Pretty cool that the “Control” DLC explains in scientific detail that Cauldron Lake is one of numerous “Thresholds” in the world and the Darkness is just an inter-dimensional being, like The Bureau. Dig it 😎👍🏻
What are the other Thresholds? Is the oldest house one?

Awesome game. UA-camd all manuscripts so I didn’t have to dig and find everyone. Watched the manuscript video after each chapter. Made the game even better
I liked the Alan Wake bonus content in Control.
Ya same
Most definitely in my top 25 favorite games of all time! The only thing, holding it back from being perfect was the clunky controls, and the inability to remap buttons. I would have paid an extra $10 to switch the run and roadside flare buttons. Other than that the atmosphere is perfect, the combat is awesome (albeit repetitive), and the story was outstanding.
What was clunky about the controls?? They’re pretty standard…
You can remap buttons on the console
@@jbfan24gaming61 yea I noticed that too, I guarantee if you could on console pc could as well. He obviously didn’t try or didn’t remember properly
just finished the remastered on pc and gotta say it's far from perfect. The gameplay is very boring and repetitive. The story and characters are the only things that kept me playing.
Phew, thanks guys, on time! I wonder how you haven't come up with it somewhere around 2050 when Alan Wake 6: Revelations pops up
Alan Wake is a masterpiece
Totally. Gets a bit reptative with the enemies, but a brilliant game none the less
The cutscenes are so bad though it felt like no character had any emotion in the game at all
It's no Max Payne.
@@seamusmcintosh5306 that’s because the game came out 13 years ago and you’re just playing it now. Also, it was made during the great recession from the housing bubble collapse.
@@Vor_Tex_Sun true I just completed it
Thanks for the explanation, Stephen King. Have a good one, Hemingway
Bro I played this game and I have to say I did enjoyed it because of the cool mechanics and weapons,
My hopes of understanding the game better were trashed after I saw the gaddam credits, and left me completely speechless, in a bad way.
I don’t know if playing Alan wake 2 will explain me wtf happened, or should I pick up all the manuscripts again, but that ending was very disappointing to be honest.
Hmm, so that's what happens.. I might finally get this game.
Was it all a dream within a dream within a nightmare?
Purgatory, where is the young Sheriff? Who is that old Sheriff?
YOOOOOO this game is sick! just finished it :D
This was a good game. I just finished it this morning. I can’t wait for the 2nd one to come out in October.
@@FemaleSneakerHead430I just finished this one as well as was excited for the second one until I found out there is no physical copy for alan wake 2.
but why is the fbi officer stands like a mystery in ending?
Kinda out of the blue but hey i love alan wake
love this game! Can’t wait for everyone to hate on Alone in the Dark(2024) when it’s released
Can we get the DLC on switch ?
Just finished the game. "Wake Up" AGAIN??? 😮
I think the only thing wrong here is that the lake itself brings creative works to life rather than the darkness, as the darkness simply uses creative artists as puppets to abuse the lakes power to write itself into reality so it can spread
The only thing I likes about this game was song haunted at end of episode three credits
Literally fell in love with that song, the radios in game had a couple good songs too which made the game kinda cool in a way. That little touch was a very subtle cool one
Some people hate this game, cuz fighting enemies. I hope the seqiel he is freed or freed himsekf & defeats the darkness other world so he can returb to his wife. Hopefully not much time had pased si she will atill ge free singke & love him still so takes him back. I thought this was oart 2. I saw it on peoples title description. Idk. It is 2023 the remastered version. How is this up a yr ago ? Idk of video games so like people are playing it rn.
I thought this entire story was about mental health until I came here 🙄
Im going to go with this, this happened in the past. Alan died and Rose and your darkness woman look familar.
Reason why, no young sheriff in the ending and shes old.
Not sure why Alice was in knickers, but might be because wet jeans are hard to remove and removed them before the car was covered by water.
Awesome game. Lousy ending.
I didn't like the game mechanics. Even on PS5! I couldn't enjoy the story because of that. I never played it till the very end because I got fed up with the toy gun pop pop pop over and over and over. It fell short in gameplay and became very infuriating after a while
I wasn’t thrilled with the mechanics either but they were by no means horrible. I still enjoy the game a ton and played it to the end. Maybe you just don’t know how to adapt? I dunno 🤷♂️
Lmao I almost delete the game. But I'm glad I got finish it today.
I liked story and dialogues, but combat was annoying
Yeah, the combat is definitely a bit dated, but it worked fine. It’s unique for sure, but I think they could have added more guns or something
Just finished on ps5, gamesplay not good but story good
Such a garbage game
L opinion. The game is super underrated
Lol no
FACTS
How did you get here
@@Adanr97 Underrated? It got talked enough about, especially for what it is. the gameplay is extremely bad and the overall experience is bland. The only thing which makes this game talked about is the Story, which is fine, but nothing spectacular just because its "different" with its mysterious thing going on. Its okay, but thats it
Now that I understand the story I can safely say it is a super f*cking cool concept lol 😂
