The non-laminated screen isn't really an issue for me. It's honestly not as bad as some people make it, but it's still something to be aware of. The other criticism of the 10th gen iPad are well-deserved, though. These are all intentional compromises intended to separate the entry level iPad from the Air and Pro in such a way to push potential buyers to move up. That said, people should not underestimate the iPad. As Brad pointed out, it is a seriously powerful device for its price range. As far as drawing goes, it's the best bang for the buck, hands down.

It’s not just the laminated screen it’s the fact we are in 2023 and there cheating out I’m really dumb stuff and charging you extra for it. They make it seem like it’s for education but it’s for money. As an artist I would still get it bc I don’t really care for the screen issue but the facts they do this for money which is very true to non naïve ppl.

@@UnseenShortss you can still get the iPad 9. It’s still fine and better value. The Pencil charges better.
Not everything is for artists, and this tablet clearly isn’t. If it was they would have spent more time on sorting the Pencil situation out.

my last ipad is mini 2nd gen. now that 10th is out, i'm so grateful ! wanting to buy Air but it's too expensive! even with Education Apple Store price, the difference between 10th and Air is USD$150 ! I'm a teacher and my work basically involve PDF, Words/Pages, Powerpoint/Keynote, and Excel/Numbers. And I connect my screen to projector for teaching alot. Laminated or not, it's not an issue for me. I don't play games, not using for music production, video editing, etc. I have MacBook Air M1 already for those tasks.

iPad 10th gen is great, you can easily run games and have an easy drawing experience. as someone who plays games that take up alot of storage, like genshin impart, etc. it runs I would say faster than a computer from what I’ve seen and it’s not easy to take up all its storage. it’s also good if you forget your pin, you have a Touch ID instead so you can still get in.

If you not an artist the 10th gen is a very compelling tablet. The camera positioning and function row on the Magic Keyboard aren’t that small of an upgrade.
Personally, a Logitech keyboard case (I use that for my pro, more practical than the apple stuff) and a crayon might be the better option. It charges with usb c and it’s basically an Apple Pencil without pressure sensitivity. Which for a non artist is more than adequate

I’ve been wanting to get a label printer for my small business for the longest time and finally pulled the trigger. I’m glad I did ! This machine is great ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxw55tQTywUAAOsbrlwxONZULry77sFF1Q and the blue/green color matches the rest of the accents in my office. My favorite part is how small the footprint is. It’s less than 1/4 the size of my regular printer.Set up was fairly easy. Seller will email you a link with video instructions Which I found to be more helpful than the written instructions. I use a Mac and had no issues. They even included an adaptor for USB to USB-c which is great because I’m always losing mine! I had a few issues getting the labels to print properly and wasted quite a few sheets. You need to play around with the settings to get everything adjusted just right. If you have the wrong settings, it’ll crop off the edges or feed through blank labels. These aren’t issues with the machine though, just user error.

No, it should actually be the 2020 iPad Pro, with only one extra gpu core, and 2gb of extra ram, LiDAR Scanner and ultra wide camera is pretty much useless for artists. At least the M2 have dramatically increased GPU performance that definitely will help with 3d sculpting, and the hover feature is very useful for painting, you can finally see the size of your brush before your pencil touch the screen, and it is leagues and bound better for sidecar.

I am just fed up seeing tons of these types of video who those speakers are professional digital illustrators. They see it from their perspective and try to sell their classes as part of their business other than guide those beginners who want to learn from traditional to digital. Those beginners barely understand what is laminated or regular glass. Secondly they don't even know what is pixelated or vector. Thirdly, instead of promoting expensive ipad for beginners, for what reason? There are so many tablets out there for drawing and it doesn't have to be ipad or Procreate, and yes, Procreate is an easy app to use for drawing compare to other app but everyone can drawing using tablets in general and it doesn't have to be the 8gb ram to begin with. Ipad 10th gen or Air 3rd are good for beginners! Just my opinion.

the difference isnt actually that much between the screens price and the glasses. apple just jacks up the price for these displays to 11 to make you think it is. the complete screen (laminated, 11" ips) of my lenovo p11 plus costs around 10 bucks more than the ipad 9s glass and that has a smaller 10.2" screen. just give us a laminated display apple. everything has one including the cheapest samsung tab A8. also did you know that you can pair the pencil 1 to the usb c air or pro ipads. you just need to do it manually. tldr. just get the air 4 refurb or the ipad 9 or if it doesnt need to be an ipad get an android tablet from like samsung or lenovo.

Coming from an 2018 iPad 6th gen (first low end iPad with apple pencil support) software support will probably go on for at least another year or two. But I have toyed with the idea that if I upgraded to 10th gen in the future I could keep my old apple pencil and save some money 🤔
Also have thought about setting up a dedicated lighting charger/brick for the pencil in the past using the included adapter that came with the pencil in the box.
Would really prefer a lidar sensor and 120hrz screen if I were to upgrade though in reality, since my use is mostly 3d hobby work these days. I love my 6th gen, family 4th gen was a rock solid device too, battery still holds a decent charge for some reason after 10 years.

@@yzxz9012 My first procreate project is from September 14, 2018 which I think is (4 years 7months ago) when I got my pencil. I haven't used it very heavy as I wish, but it's invaluable when I want to sketch, make a thumbnail, or sculpt.
I regularly charge it when it's low and turn it off at 70 because it wakes from sleep whenever you move the iPad, it will drain battery when your on the road but if you don't touch your iPad for a week at your house the pencil will have much more battery life for example.
Highly recommend if you have an art usecase or are a student, it's great for written math and stuff. Otherwise I probably wouldn't recommend.

So I needed a medium size iPad for sketching, I hope I don’t regret my decision on the 2019 air model, but I will say that not having to buy a second gen pencil, and keeping the same one that works on my mini and old 12.9 pro, while still getting something that charged via usb c and sort of looked like what I really wanted which was the 2020 air, and had a younger battery, were all reasons that made me consider this strongly, except it really wasn’t that cheap for me, in the EU everything is more expensive also, but not having to buy another pencil on a budget for something being purchased specifically for single layer sketching from life was the main reason for my attraction here….

Glad you have relooked at this and are more understanding of why Apple has to make what looks like strange calls. This iPad sells in education, health and business; other factors are essential to keep those customers onboard. These include non-laminated displays so IT departments can replace broken displays in-house and use the OG Apple Pencil they probably have in abundance.
As for price, it was a shock on release, but we have seen all other OEMs follow with hefty price rises in tech as inflation bites. Thankfully Apple offers the 9th gen so consumers can still get value.
As for the rest, it is an iPad, so it is fantastic.

It is a whole year from this IPad coming out, and over 2 years from the ninth gen... But gosh, do I just think on picking up the ninth gen. Some could say "but it looks old!", but with the display basically not changing (but only the bezels), I might just say "but the older one looks cooler, and more old-school!" Like really, for me, tenth gen IPad didn't even have reason to exist...

apple is consistently one of the most consumer unfriendly companies documented when it comes to the big tech companies the idea that they dont laminate the screen because it good break and ud have to replace the hole thing is ridiculous it would be the other way around for them if anything thats why a entry level educational product is 60% more expensve than the year before version where i am at

I don't get why anyone would buy this over the air 4 unless they lower the price to 300 bucks
