Cassius is the real winner to me. This man tried his hardest for sooooo much of the game, and just could not do anything. He ended up being in the worst position out of all four players for most of the game! Yet when he was about to win, he held back, took the L he honored his promise. Major props to you dude ^-^
I can't recall where I heard it (if it was a GK episode or on the podcast) but somewhere it was mentioned that Cass knows he's competitive (obviously) and really does try his hardest to dial it back when playing MtG. But it's like trying to tame a lion... sure it's POSSIBLE to get the fun-loving beast but we should always be prepared for the killer.... haha
Major props to Cassius. I can't say that I would've done the same in his position, not sure many people would. Keeping his word meant more than winning to him. That's a damn fine magic player who embodies everything I love about the game. Wish he would be even more active in the Magic community, caster or announcer in the Pro Tour for instance. Loved the episode. Keep up the good work! :)
Naa it just made a huge anti climax and ruined the end of a game that could have been interesting. Really dont like taking deals this serious when it takes away for the overall game experience for the audience...Also if I were josh i would have feelt like that wasent a real victory
Breaking truces for no reason is a really dick move. We don't allow that in our playgroup, since it makes for salty moments and conflicts. At the end of the day Josh could've just made the deal with somebody else and taken Cass out, so either way he wouldn't have won.
I love seeing Cassius in these games. Hands down my favorite guest on the show. He’s just fun to watch. And I love the decks he plays. Great episode. 👌🏻
@@stephanwyrsta376 Craig is hands down my favorite player to watch, he's just got so much personality in his play style and it is so cool. I like Cassius but I gotta give to Craig. Him, Prof and Mel Li are just my absolute favorites to watch
They're playing cards from as far back as Kaladesh. That left standard and brawl before Ravnica came out, so at time of filming Vraska's Contempt didn't exist.
Da Scientist but isnt vraska’s contempt ixalan? Before dominaria itself came? Edit: And sure the rotation caused major pieces for one of the decks to be cut but the point is that at the time of filming vraska’s contempt existed, especially in because ixalan set #1 survive rotation.
Stormerbuzz FyfEnDertig it makes their games interesting instead of all of them focusing on just winning they try to be in the game as long as possible, which makes longer games and more fun plays get worked out based on what one player does to another because of a deal made with another player.
Probably one of the best, if not the best, episode of Game Knights. Everyone’s decks went off and it was super fun to watch. I definitely want to build around Muldrotha, he’s so good!
Just rewatched the episode for the 10th time and I didn't notice how funny it was, when Ben says: "We just lock Jimmy in the bathroom". I couldn't stop laughing and thinking about Cassius grabbing the bathroom door from the outside while Jimmy just screams for help and for Cassius to let him out.
16:07 Everyone laughed at Jodah. “Theres better 5c commanders” “not viable in any standard format”.... but I knew better. Jimmy knew better. Show them. Show them the way.

"I can't think of any cards off the top of my head in Brawl that exile a Planeswalker!" Vraska's Contempt was one of the most popular cards in Standard, before Dominaria.
That moment when Josh said "Never Give Up, Never Surrender", I started remembering that movie with Tim Allen and Alan Rickman (May He Rest In Peace) called Galaxy Quest!
Awesome episode! Had me cracking grins left and right. Love when Cassius is on the show too! Really sweet play when he was able to counter the Banewhip Punisher. Didn't see that coming. Another great episode of GK. Favorite mtg content on UA-cam! Great work as always CZ!

I haven't been able to play with my commander decks yet because my local game store has commander when I had class (I can go now!), and I've been nervous about people having CRAZY decks. I think Brawl might be a good way for people like me to get into playing commander to see how we need to build our decks. It'll be much easier with a smaller pool of cards to figure out the idea of deck building.

Josh, Jimmy, and everyone else associated with Game Knights. I would just like to say something to you guys. I started playing MTG when I was about 11 years old. It was at a Boy Scout summer camp, where MTG is popular, along with any other card game you can imagine. No phones allowed, so a lot of time was spent playing card games. I got really into it, and even built a deck that wasn't too good, but I loved. It was actually a blue green evolve deck, of all things! At about 13, no one I knew played it any more, so I stopped too. Wasn't worth it when I only got to play MTG for about 5 days a year. I stuffed my decks into a box in my closet. Well, I found your channel. Now my love for MTG is reignited, at age 17, and I am deckbuilding again. I just made a deck centered around Tokens and Campaign of Vengeance, and I can't wait to see how it plays. I just wanted to thank everyone involved for making me love MTG again, with your absolute love for the game and showing me again why I loved it in the first place.
No one is interested in Brawl in my area, so I’m going for the next best thing: Jodah Commander. Last I checked, getting Ulamog for five mana is pretty busted.
TheComicBookJoker I get you and I am starting as jodha brawl and slowly upgrade it to commander because the people at my store are OK with mixing brawl and commander decks
Michael Sagi Well, ideally both. Especially if I add Ramos, Dragon Engine to the build; removing five +1/+1 counters means casting two huge things using Jodah’s built-in Fist of Suns ability, and casting two indestructible Eldrazi in one turn for a total of ten mana is just bonkers.

Yeah I have a Muldrotha deck and it's SUPER fun. It's also one of the more complicated decks you can play in commander because when you have a 70 card hand you have infinite possibilities! And you can win by either just out-valuing your opponents by constantly playing destroy effects and draw effects and stuff, or you can set up a nuke (I really like combo-ing Lord of Extinction and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord lol)
André Schneider i too have muldrotha and my usual win is sacrificing all my lands then returning them to play for absurd value. (Dread presence and urborg)
Just getting into magic and your all’s videos are awesome. Nice to see you all explain abilities and zoom in on cards as you play them. Really helps someone who is learning the game.
@@natewasylik1576 eh I think they ruin games with politics more often then not. Id rather just see sound plays and people making the best effort instead of basically saying "yes you may have a turn where I don't kill you so I loose." its just cheesy. I don't politic and never will but I guess that's the cedh in me.
Can't fault you for the mistake on Kamahl's Druidic Vow there, it was natural to assume it worked like Genesis Wave, because as it is it's just so badly powered down... He also shouldn't have gotten Song of Freyalise there either. Sagas, while Historic, are not Legendary.
i love the command zone, you guys got me into the commander format and you guys keep me in it. I have watched all of the game knights 5 times and watched each and every episode of the command zone at least once.
Favorite part of the whole video was Cassius FINALLY drawing that one turnaround card and just full coming back into the game because the face he made was hilarious
Yall should add a little animation that keeps track of floating mana, it can get a little convuluted at times when you got a bajillion rocks out and its hard to follow. Plus it would look cool.
What a wonderful episode. Kudos! This game was proof how dynamic and competitive Brawl is as a format even though it uses a smaller card pool than Commander. Hope to see this again.
One year ago, this episode inspired me to build a Jodah EDH deck. Presently it's still the most competitive and nastiest commander in my whole playgroup. Thanks guys, this episode inspired me to create a monster.
Possibly my favorite Game Knights episode! As a Muldrotha player, I really enjoyed the constant change of power and seeing how Josh stayed in the game.
im so envious of the channel I missed playing edh/commander with my friends but cant because my local store closed down, this reminds me of all the fun I had when the game store was open
Possibly my favorite episode. Everyone's deck got to shine and i thought cassius was gonna make a come back after a not so good start but he kept his end of the barging. Also i loved Josh's deck.
I just saw a man offer free 49ers tix to get ahead in a magic the gathering game. Cassius Marsh is a hero.

Exactly what I was thinking.
I honestly lost it when Jimmy first popped off by essentially taking three turns and playing zacama and Nicol bolas. What an amazing play
This really got me wanting to build around Muldrotha, btw was it just me or did Jimmy pay an extra mana to cast Vraska the second time?
Yeah I have a Muldrotha deck and it's SUPER fun. It's also one of the more complicated decks you can play in commander because when you have a 70 card hand you have infinite possibilities! And you can win by either just out-valuing your opponents by constantly playing destroy effects and draw effects and stuff, or you can set up a nuke (I really like combo-ing Lord of Extinction and Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord lol)
André Schneider i too have muldrotha and my usual win is sacrificing all my lands then returning them to play for absurd value. (Dread presence and urborg)
@@andreschneider2713 only thing i dont like with muldrotha is gy hate slows it down hard. Nowadays every deck has some kind of gy hate
Anand Kaushik no its not just you, jimmy did pay 7
Cassius is the best guest ever, i love seeing him inj these since he is in SF now i hope to see him more and more
No yargle come on guys 😂😂
This meme is really taking off
YARRRRRRGLEEEEEE
Yargle has ascended beyond petty memes. Yargle is now TRUTH.
Thank wizards for our Lord and savior Yargle
Honestly this was one of the best episodes.
Ben: What can Jimmy do with 5 mana?
Eldritch Moon: *You’re safe… this time…*
Just wow! Took me 2 hours to watch trying to keep up with all the triggers! I love watching crazy combos go off! Good job guys!
Just getting into magic and your all’s videos are awesome. Nice to see you all explain abilities and zoom in on cards as you play them. Really helps someone who is learning the game.
11:08 "You know what I think about jadelight ranger" XD
OBJECTION: josh targeted ben in cassius’ upkeep when they still had a deal
Oona, queen of the FiremindΦ The deal was Josh won’t river rebuke, if Ben didn’t interact with him. He can do non- Rivers Rebuke stuff to him,
@@natewasylik1576 eh I think they ruin games with politics more often then not.
"Jade light Ranger isn't that good"
MTGA players: HMMMMMMMM
unplayable nowadays :D
Yall should add a little animation that keeps track of floating mana, it can get a little convuluted at times when you got a bajillion rocks out and its hard to follow. Plus it would look cool.
Loved the episode, more of this goodness please .
The only video on UA-cam that is an 1 hour + long and doesn't bore me.
What a wonderful episode. Kudos! This game was proof how dynamic and competitive Brawl is as a format even though it uses a smaller card pool than Commander. Hope to see this again.
Dude, I would love to see Day[9] on Gameknights. After all this time without Spellslingers!
Zacama into Rishkar's Expertise. I actually threw up a little with how disgusting that play is.
Wow, what a game. Game Knights always cheer me up. Brawl format looks promising!
One year ago, this episode inspired me to build a Jodah EDH deck.
Presently it's still the most competitive and nastiest commander in my whole playgroup. Thanks guys, this episode inspired me to create a monster.
This is my favourite episode of game knights so far
It's Ben Fricking Bateman!!! I'm now officially in the Action Army now bro!
daniel smith BOOM! Love this
Only if they unseat the Patriots. Otherwise, Shirewolves all the way.
Deals should immediately expire when it goes heads up.
I had my doubts about brawl, but this..this was badass! 🖒
Cassius is back. Fan favorite player.
Love Muldrotha! That definitely makes me getting into Commander :-)
11:33 a plansewalker in his graveyard
Possibly my favorite episode. Everyone's deck got to shine and i thought cassius was gonna make a come back after a not so good start but he kept his end of the barging. Also i loved Josh's deck.
LOVE THIS SERIES!!! Every time I see Cassius playing I get super excited he is hands down my favorite player
