Finally someone explained how this limiter works in an intuitive way, thanks dude. Btw, the Ozone 8 Elements Maximizer also has the "link" button for both Stereo Independence controls.
How I use this tool is to simply start at a preset, and constantly A/B the source and my work until I get the closest match possible. I'll move the threshold and ceiling all the way up to 0 before I begin work. I can easily spend a half-hour getting a match as I am not under any time constraints. When I get my sound locked in, i'll move my ceiling to -.6 and move my threshold to wherever my target is. Then, i'll set the transient emphasis to really zero in on a sonic match. Once it's all done, i'll render and use the same A/B/ process for the dither and noise shaping.
Thank you for the video. What I don't understand is very basic, with the limiter ceiling set to say -1db, if I get a few true peaks that are red (but seem to be around -0.9db), does that mean I'm potentially clipping? Or is the limiter already taking care of that and making sure I'm not clipping.
Don’t understand when you say you don’t like True Peak! So what do you set it to then? I wish you would play something and adjust it so we can hear what’s going on!
Hey, buddy! Good video! I came across your video because I had a problem with the learn button. My song is clipping for 3 seconds and I don't know what to do to get rid of that clipping.
No mater what setup i use the ozone maximizer always allows some samples to go over the set celling and they are getting cliped. How can i setup this to have no clipping at all? The thing is i am certainly not going for as loud as possible but want to create dynamic master without clipping on transients.
Very nice video. Thanks buddy! I’ve had 9 advanced a couple years and I’m just discovering how cool it is. Your thorough and clear. Appreciated! Subscribed.
Just watch them to see if you have any headroom left that you might want to use. If you play with them awhile you’ll get a feel for how to use them. Simply though if you like the result of everything you set up in the controls nothing should be clipping on your output fader and if you want a little more gain try pushing it up a little on the way out till you see the evil red lights at the top and back off till they don’t come back. To clear them after a clip hit just click on them. Regarding input generally leave it at default. This module won’t have anything after it btw.
5:00 I never understand that lufs thing. A lot of people say that you should go for -14 lufs for spotify etc. I even watched a video that goes for -14lufs independent from what genre you producing. I went for -14 after I watched that video but my track sounded so "thin". Then I checked various tracks like metal songs and techno and they are very loud like even some metal tracks -3, -5 lufs. I think this value is genre dependent
Lufs are for sure genre dependent. More aggressive genres will have higher lufs. For example I’ve heard that Borgore can master to -2 lufs, while melodic techno averages about -8.5. I produce big room and try to get about -6.5 lufs, although I’m trying to learn how to squeeze every last luf out. I believe it’s an art form to have absolute max loudness and still have a transparent track. 6.5 is really tough, but I’m learning.
I noticed that too, went for -14, and when it comes up in spotify, after another track from an artist in the same genre, it was super quiet in comparison
but how to set threshold? I still don't know how to use this tool.
No B.S, straight to the point.. thats how i want the UA-cam videos to be... 💯
The most useful vid I've seen on the subject, great steers. To go into all the details would take hours.

Elements 8 has Transient and Sustain controls? Good to know, the user manual was wrong then!

Thank you very much mate for this video. Everything clearly explained and supported by an example. Best regards.
You're welcome thanks for dropping a comment!
Thank you - very well explained. I’ve since Subscribed 👍
Finally someone that knows the plugin inside and out! Thank you!
Dude sick job. Crushed it. Appreciate that! 🙏
Thanks man, just the video I needed 🙏
Very well made and explained... Cheers!

Incredibly informative but very much to the point. Thanks a lot for doing this mate!
Very helpful! Straight to the point and informative, thanks!
Superbly explained. Thank you so much.
Glad it was helpful!
Helpful. Tweaking my mastering. Thanks, dude
Hey, buddy! Good video!
I came across your video because I had a problem with the learn button. My song is clipping for 3 seconds and I don't know what to do to get rid of that clipping.
Did you lower the output ceiling to -1 decibels?
This is exactly what I needed to see and hear (pun intended). Thanks man!
No problem!

Thanks for this Real Home Recording!
Thanks very helpful video!
Thanks man!!
You bet!
tahnkyou maaaaaannnnnnnnn!
Much appreciated!
Glad to help!
nice video, so this tool is a maximizer + limiter? or should I add a limiter for mastering?
It's a look ahead brick wall limiter with spectral dynamics. And it works extremely well!

Even with true peak on?
I had the same problem make sure the maximizer is the last thing in the chain inside ozone 9
Same problem here. Have you found a solution.
@@renanbrito. Yes. before mastering adjust the gain of the mix so the peaks are about -3dB. Maximizer works much better then.
@@jakubbason3122, Thank you so much!
Always great content
Well explained thanks

Thank you so much bro, you really deserved a sub
Thanks for the sub!
Nice.
You love to talk
Maybe a bit too much...
How do I get max gain with this without it clipping?
Your mix was probably too quiet to begin with.
Thanks for the video! What are the equivalent to the hard and soft modes which were in the in the maximizer version 5?
Thank you for your contribution! We are using Ozone for much of our dialogue in our videos as well as music.
yo, I need cops of me...ur phone not working?????
thank you!
You're welcome!
Nice
Thanks
you didn't explain what the sliders on the I/O panel do or how to choose a value for them
