This video is a prime example, all be it a small sample size, of the near endless knowledge Andrew has and shares in his course. The in-depth look into many of the nuances of of this plugin is a prime representation of how he teaches. Coming from someone who is in the midst of his advanced course, I can tell you that his deep dives into topics, objective analysis and experience driven insight regarding all pros and cons and "bulsh*t" of many products and methods, are just some of the huge benefits of taking such a well laid out course, with a seasoned veteran like Andrew.
The amount the course has changed my understanding and approach towards all things audio is mind boggling, and has lit a fire for learning I havent felt since first learning guitar. Right now i am at the first half of the course and it has already improved my mixing skills dramatically, Andrew teaches you how to think as a real audio engineer, to make your own decisions not based in other people´s presets or thoughts, he teaches you all the nuances, things i never realized before, and his program includes stuff you dont find in any other course, like very deep integration with SSL gear and plugins. The program its very complete, i have friends who are attending courses at university, 20 times more expensive and still they tell me they dont learn as much as Andrew teaches you. Also you have homeworks and you can make questions in real time, Its the best course i have ever made.

If you record and mix several songs with the same instruments and sounds to make an album that flows well (like an AC DC album) I can see match eq perhaps being a usable starting point but I totally agree what you said. Very useful presentation for me.Thanks.

I really like my FabFilter plugins but I have to say, if I were to decide today on one plugin bundle to buy it would be Izotope MPS3. I just upgraded and you can literally do everything you need to mix and master with it. Since I have been testing it out on my newest recordings I've been very impressed. The Imager and Maximizer are indispensable IMO. Thanks for this great overview. I'd love to take your course at some point when I have time to devote to it. Right now my schedule is pretty tight, so practicing/writing and producing music in addition to my job and ministry work doesn't leave me much time. I'll just have to make time I suppose.

I enrolled Andrew’s course over skype a while ago to improve my audio production skills. I have live sound engineering background for about 15 years and now I really wanted to advance in studio production. What is the most valuable about this course imo is a proper approach to recording and mixing. I consider myself a nerd of audio so it was a relief to see Andrew is indeed as well. He loves what he does and really knows more than you expect. So far my goal is to finish the course as I have couple of months left but even now my studio mixes improved. I love a live comparison of my mix to one of the greatest mixes professionaly done by industry leading engineers. I hope everyone signed to this course would fill gaps of production knowledge that keep them a few steps from professional mix.

Outstanding video. Absolutely gold content. Is Cubase your favorite DAW? Been using it since the Atari days and the set of tools is unmatched. Funny thing, it will crash with most of the Ozone 8 'assisted' features forcing you to use the modules the way you demonstrate here
Thanks! I don't care about DAW because they are all the same. It's more like what I don't think about. Cubase is one of my oldest DAWs so I don't think what to do with that 'cause I'm very familiar with it.

Why Lowering the threshold limits more of the signal, which will create an overall louder mix????
So, if I understood correctly also watching a previous video, multi band limiting is bad but multi band compression is good when mastering, right?
Multi band compression is one of the most powerful mastering tools.

hello andrew, i have a question about ozone 9, i just purchased it and i think its great but when using the dynamic EQ i noticed when i switch the presets it changed the rhytm of my beat, i make hip hop music and this just doesnt make sense to me, is there anything i can do for this? its almost like its changing the time control on my D.A.W and im just not understanding why...thanks for your help
Seems like your plugin caused the latency. And your DAW doesn't have automation delay compensation turned on. Turn it on.

I got Ozone 8 completely free when 9 came out! It is my first Mastering plugin so I still feel like an idiot when using it. I know this video isn't about 8 but hopefully I can form some strategy from information in this video, I mean it has to be better for my mixes than the Fruity Limiter, right?!.. I have a long road ahead of me
You can't even imagine how long :) haha. I don't want to sound like a salesman, but I will give you an offer. Come and see a trial class. It's for free. If you are with some even little experience you will see how valuable my course can be for you. Which will actually save you tones of dollars and years. Because you will not be going by the wrong path and waste your budget on stuff you don't need. We all do it (wasting time and money). For you it will be different. I'm also afraid of being a bad student, my first and only guitar teacher tried teaching me the circle of fifths and I couldn't wrap my head around it to save my life! Проблема в том что Ютуб не любит двуязычия. Так что приходится все на английском. Хотя три ролика на русском есть на канале. А вообще бесплатное пробное занятие приходите и посмотрите. Может поймете что вам стоит пройти мой курс. Для этог опишите имейл - он прикреплен в первом комментарии.
