Re-watching this a year later and I'm so pleased with Ben's delivery. Colbourne is growing in confidence enough there's even humor in his eyes. He knows they will be together because he believes so strongly in their love and his own feelings. Wonderful!
I cry each time I see this scene the love respect and that gentle kiss you know it's coming to an end. I am happy for them finding true love. But my sadness in knowing it's the end of a wonderful series with so much depth.
I'm happy that Charlotte finally found her happiness! Alexander is the best choice for her♥️ Thank you for renewing the show for seasons 2 and 3, Ben is the best find of this show👏

Everything was so beautiful and delicate. Rose and Ben have an incredible chemistry! They're so emotional and happy. Both of Colbourne's declarations were perfect (make a life with me 😢) but the "fathomless " is what tugs to my heart here. Well done, PBS! This season was magical! ❤
I think they're fabulous together too, and wish PBS/Masterpiece would pair them as Georgie and Darcy, Rhys Bowen's characters from her Royal Spyness Mysteries.
Bravo Masterpiece PBS! What a beautiful story that was a delight to watch! Finally Charlotte Hayward (so gorgeously bought to life by the talented Rose Williams) has her happily ever after with the love of her life. Love Colbourne's confession. Congratulations to all involved!
Masterpiece, Please give the cast of Sanditon more work in future productions! The actors were fantastic! Love Ben Lloyd-Hughes and Rose Williams, but really the whole cast was superb!
So many of the Sanditon fans are begging for a season 4. However, I would recommend running your own scenarios in your head like I've been doing ever since I discovered romance novels at age 12. I like to imagine how everyone reacted at Heyrick Park when Mr. Colbourne brought Charlotte home with him that afternoon, or how they broke the happy news to the Parkers, or how Lady Montrose found out he was no longer a marriage option for Lady Lydia. It is endlessly entertaining and I have rarely had insomnia, as it always helps me drift off to sleep happily.
Thank you to everyone that took part in Sanditon all 3 seasons. I enjoyed everything about each season and though I'm upset to see it end, I'm so happy for Charlotte. I do hope PBS will allow for a movie.
Thanks Masterpiece PBS! I think all of our hearts broke at the end of season 1. This ending was healing! Would love if there was a “Colbournes” spin off or a movie now and then, so We can see Augusta get married and watch Leo grow up into adulthood. Thanks again for bringing S2 &S3! Very well done!!!
Yes, please do a spin off... We would be overjoyed, and this messed up world would be so much more tolerable knowing that we had someplace amazing to escape to one hour a week.
I certainly agree with all the comments that feel this wonderful show should get a fourth season or movie. There is so much more to say and these actors, Rose and Ben, are so great in developing their romance with so much chemistry. Masterpiece/PBS, you really need to consider more Sandition!
Thank you for making this video! I am overjoyed that Charlotte and Xander's story has come to an end with happiness! Congratulations to the entire cast, crew, and production. Finally, thank you to Rose and Ben for developing fantastic storylines for characters from writing to screen. Everyone should find their true love, regardless of the hardships they may experience, and also comprehend what world Jane Austen influenced, with the Charlotte and Georgina tale being great. Thank you again to Masterpiece PBS for an incredible two seasons. Many of us were curious about what happened to Charlotte and Xander throughout their marriage, but this show teaches that love can be unexpected and overcoming regardless of the outcome. Thank you, Masterpiece PBS cast, crew, and production, for this fantastic show. Rose and Ben, we just wanted to say thank you for making Happy Ending and Fairytales in Sanditon memorable.
Beautiful!!!! I don't want it to be over. Ben Lloyd-Hughes was the perfect choice to play Colbourne. This entire story is so very Austen even with the change oft male leads. Colbourne is a much better match for Charlotte (Rose Williams) and their story together so much more compelling. If you even to decide to visit Sanditon again, I wouldn't mind the story of Augusta and her road to finding happiness!
@ When you say you "have" this version, what do you mean? I watched the DVD again and it's the same as the broadcast version, not this one.

@@amritawhitman8112 I have the same as yours actually. I agree about the horses sounds, I wish they had kept them and put the audio track louder at the beginning of the scene. I love the sound of the cello so I prefer that one over the piano when they talk. It's like a 50-50 for me with the changes.
@ I prefer the piano version while they're talking because it helped to make the scene more intimate. While in the official version it seems they are competing with the music for our attention. I know Masterpiece never does it but I wish, since they won't give us a Season 4, they would release a DVD set that includes deleted scenes and different versions of scenes like this one.

@@amritawhitman8112 I have been looking for the deleted scenes for s2 and s3 for a while. Would love an extended set
Congratulations!! 🎉 It is beautifully done. Thank you, PBS!! I hope you will continue, as many characters are yet to unfold. I hope PBS, producers, crew, actors, writers, and everyone involved will consider doing a movie!
They were pretty clear from outset, that this would be the final season😢. Though I wouldn't mind stealing from other British Shows and having the occasional holiday special. So many storylines and characters to casually check in on. Many still need their HEAs ❤!
As we know Justin Young recently said in an interview that a Season 4 will never happen. Most likely, at least in part, that's because during his interviews last year he explained he and the other writers were, out of respect for Austen's work, committed to ending their Austen-inspired series the way Jane Austen ended all of her books, with a HEA (happy ever after) wedding. However, this is 2023 and rarely have we seen two actors create this kind of love story with so much genuine heart and chemistry as Rose Williams and Ben Lloyd-Hughes did! I find it hard to imagine Masterpiece PBS would happily walk away from funding a Season 4. Fans like me of the Outlander and Poldark series know that even though those TV series have highly adaptable books to work from, what made those TV series so successful and profitable, is not just the writing and the quality of the productions, but most importantly, the romantic chemistry and acting talents of their two leading actors! While it's very difficult to create a period drama without having a series of books to work from, Sanditon's writers proved there's no shortage of historical figures and events of the 19th century to inspire several more episodes. Only time will tell if there are enough fans who love Sanditon enough to want to see a Season 4 or a spin-off. BTW, Miss Scarlet and The Duke, another original period drama that also depends on the chemistry and relationship of it's two leading actors will be back for a 4th season of 6 episodes, so anything should be possible for Sanditon!
Thank you for the informative and well-written post. Believe me, there are enough fans who wants this to continue. As I suggested, a few weeks ago, all they have to do is to put out a call to the fans to each donate a few dollars, and that would be enough to finance more episodes and keep this going. In return, Masterpiece, can do a drawing and fly 10 fans over to the set for each episode to be extras. I think it's a brilliant idea if I may say so :)
@@shahnazpersian330 Thank you for your kind words! I almost didn't post it because my comment was so long. You have some great ideas! Pretty clever move... Final scene on the cliff. Before that, Charlotte says goodbye to the Parker family, gets into the carriage, sad. The carriage stops because of the man on the black horse (everything reminds of the end scene of season 1). But, this time the man doesn't say goodbye, he confesses his love. Also the passionate words that are quite reminiscent of Pride and Prejudice end scene. Yes, pretty clever...
