I am in New Zealand, and have only watched this on dvd (Region 4). There are scenes on the dvd that have been cut - reduced - but which I see in longer form on all these 'out-takes'. eg after Charlotte's interview for the governess position, the dog, Luna, races after her and she pets her. This scene is completely missing on my dvd. When she arrives back at the house on horseback with Leo after the latter's visit to Col. Lennox - that is missing also. Mrs Wheatley touching Xander's shoulder, saying something like 'do not lock yourself away again' - and she actually calls him 'Xander' - missing also. It is very frustrating. I feel short-changed, to say the least. I do not know why they do it. Thanks for uploading this deleted scene, I had read about it also 🙂
This scene should have been included for a couple of reasons: 1. It's similar to Charlotte's walks, during which we see her thinking about her future and what she's getting into by marrying Ralph when she still cares deeply for Colbourne that it is a lovely way to show how these two characters are wrestling with their feelings for one another when they are alone and walking. 2. We needed to see how he went from looking rattled when he hears the news that Charlotte is back to his "Do I pass muster?" scene during which he agrees with Mrs. Wheatley about life affording us few second chances!
Krissy, thanks for sharing. And for continuing to create beautiful video edits to lovely songs, This is such a poignant scene! I hope you make your own video with this clip and maybe the picnic scene with all four of them walking back in that same area, or Charlotte reflecting on the cliffs.
I believe this was after he was told about Charlotte being back and the invitation. So at the end of your video. The music also blends more easily into the scene from one to the other.
Encountering Augusta and Leonora on his way back from this walk and before he learns he will see Charlotte that evening seems like where the scene was meant to be before they decided to delete it. However I also imagined that after he learned about the party, he'd need to go back outside for another walk in order to collect his thoughts and prepare himself for what he wants to say to Charlotte. But that's just my imagination LOL!
I agree. This scene makes more sense after he finds out he's going to the party. It also might have had more emotional impact if they had replayed Charlotte's S2 words while he's looking at the house. “A future that I imagine could be very dear indeed.”
@@Ruby-hg8vl Thank you for your comment but I was half joking about placing the scene AFTER he learns about the party that night. I imagined he'd NEED another walk after he learned that he is going to see her in a few hours! LOL! While Charlotte in that scene was trying to help him see how his pain and guilt prevented him from being the father figure Leonora needed and was thus causing him more pain and heartache too, her ability to empathize and not judge him harshly clearly moved him. That would definitely stay with him , so yes, hearing those words again replaying in his head would have emotional impact indeed! Good idea!
Yeah is he looking at same spot that they had a picnic in episode 3 season 2? If so, I imagine he’s walking after hearing of the party and imagining what could be if he wins her back
How could they cut the scene of him walking around his property, contemplating the future? Wish the series focused more on this couple and cut some of the other storylines, many that were frankly boring.
Merci. Immense soif de les revoir !
The deleted scene makes us more aware of Alexander's sadness regarding Charlotte. Such a great scene!
A wonderful scene we need to see all the deleted scenes from S2 and S3 we know it wasn't just this one.
❤🥹Alexander walking and contemplating fighting for Charlotte 💕& visualising them being happy together in Heyrick Park 🥹🥹🥹(beautiful video TYVM)❤❤❤
It is a pity it was deleted, so thank you for sharing ❤

Thank you so much for posting this, so I have it outside of my DMs. 🙂

And before he learned about Ralph. He had the look of hope. 💞
I thought the same thing, it goes after he'd heard about the invitation, not before, that is where his hopefulness belonged.
The deleted scene ❤❤❤

Based on the light, the deleted scene is after Augusta and Leo returned to Heyrick Park, with news of the invitation.

Or under the tree of their kiss?
