It say's that the actor was nervous. It was one of his first movies. It was not planned that Darcy starts to stutter...but they kept it in the movies, cause they loved it😊

Darcy is so adorable in his total awkwardness and ardent devotion to Elizabeth that you can't help but fall head over heels in love with him. That little smile he gives when she jokes about her playing made my heart stop and that final scene as he walks through the field towards her is every woman's fantasy. I never wanted to jump through the screen and become a character from film more in my life.
Yes, and also too the scene while they're dancing at the Netherfield Ball when he said to her, "I hope to afford you more clarity IN THE FUTURE," and everyone else in the room just disappears to them, so they're dancing alone with unbelievably intense attraction (sprinkled with pride, and prejudice) until the end of the dance and only then everyone else reappears.
That ending was only in the US version. The Uk version finale is when she leaves her father's office and he says he is quite in his leasure ... it makes it magical that there is no kiss at all in all the UK movie
@@ourdestinynetwork For me, the kissing at the end brings closure to all the tension between them throughout the film. I’m not a huge Colin Firth fan, so 2005 wins for me.
Everything was captured here so brilliantly that no darciness was left out. “Well then, your hands are cold” (then kisses his hand); code for : I accept your confession. This is the best film ever, I’m never tired watching it. I will watch this over and over again because it makes me “completely, perfectly and incandescently happy”.
The way Darcy looks and acts around her and the amount of times he’s looked at her is pure cuteness because he can’t stop falling for her. Only a Darcy could perform such pining. ❤
I don't think Darcy would give this kind of respect and attention to any ordinary woman!!The prideful Darcy loosing his coherence in front of her and that restless fascination... He loved her since he saw her for the first time! One of my most favorite comfort movie ♥️😍🥰 and my one of my favorite fiction character Darcy!🌹
The scene at the paino (ends at 3:41) was cut off short. When he walks away and then looks back at her... the look he gives is the very definition of pining!
I love how he nods ever so slightly right after she takes his hand and says "your hands are cold". And the birds singing in the background as their foreheads touch. Man, I love them so much❤️
This is my favorite movie! I don’t even like these sorts of movies but this one is sheer perfection. The chemistry, the cinematography, the writing, everything! Never tiring of watching it.♥️
Gotta remind myself of Mr.Darcy after Succession😅 I think Matthew can play vulnerability like no one else. Just makes you feel for him whether as a socially awkward bachelor or as a two face, wimpy husband.
There is not even a single kissing between the romantic leads in this movie but it was the most romantic movie I have ever seen. The rain scene after the church was the best scene and the most iconic quote came from the second leads "Yes, A thousand times l, Yes!"
The very end of the movie when they do kiss and he calls her Mrs Darcy is so perfect. love Mathew so handsom as Mr Dar😮cy his voice is beautiful I could listen to him read the phone book all night ❤❤
I dislike the kiss in the US version. If you understand Austen, and English Reserve, you know there's no need for it. The film is also about Mr Bennet's relationship with his daughters,, and Lizzie is the one who shares his intelligence and love of poking fun at people.
5:03 was one of my fave scenes. Elizabeth’s shock coupled with his desperation to put himself across accurately, then being triggered by the mention of Wickham. So many emotions portrayed in a flicker of a moment. They did an amazing job. 7:46 the speech he gives 🫠❣️
Matthew M does more acting with the subtleties of his expression than most do with full lines of dialog ! ❤ Kiera too, she is my favorite actress. I watch this movie several times a week and usually forward to these clips. Thanks for saving me the trouble!
My first time or two watching I struggled to find the moment he started falling for her. Eventually you realize that it's almost instant and the comment about her being "barely tolerable" in the beginning is him trying too hard to play it cool since his bestie noticed right away.
Oh, been looking everywhere for someone noticing the way he glanced at her when he said she must improve her mind by extensive reading at 1:30 but my goodness it gives me butterflies! 😍😍
Love this movie. Great casting! Awesome and beautiful scene where he is walking to their house and she sees him and when he tells her he loves her most ardently. ❤
I absolutely love this movie, especially Matthew Macfadyen as Mr Darcy …. Beautiful final scene when Lizzie and Darcy finally come together…..’ you have bewitched me, body and soul…..” ❤❤
My favorite scene was when he was walking through the meadow early in the morning looking like Shaft! He looked so good. I can"t believe he's that same dude from Succession.
You forgot the scene where they are having dinner with her aunt and uncle and she gets the letter from Jane that Lydia had run away and he keeps sitting down and standing up as she walks in a out of the room
I watched this over and over when I was a teenager. The scenes where they danced together and when they 'broke-up' in the rain were my favorite parts. And the way he always paid attention to her was thrilling and romantic. The soundtrack is underrated, too.
"......you have bewitched me body and soul....." best line followed by what I think is the best scene of the movie as they come together touching foreheads, the sun shining through, not kissing but letting their affection, love, combine in the space.....aw hearts fluttering all over the place LOL
Indeed...great display of what it is like for a man who can't help stepping out of his tight control over his emotions and deliberateness to capture the heart of the greatest woman he will ever meet.
My comfort movie. It feels like I fall in love with this movie. The cast, the dialogue, the way they choose the word, the scenery, the cinematography, and the chemistry are perfect. I can watch it for hundred times or more ❤️
I wish they had made this movie into more of a mini-series or something... There is so much missing, and it would only add to the film. I mean, more screen time with Mr. Darcy, who wouldn't want that?😉
I loved the dad in this movie. He loved Lizzy so much and genuinely wanted to make sure his daughter wasn’t marrying Darcy out of force. He just wanted her happy
Mr Darcy is so so gorgeously handsome and distinguished ever! He was the perfect pick for the movie! My favourite movie, I could watch it a thousand times
I love the book, truly! BUT this film is just so special the whole I’m running in the rain because I just heard that my beloved Mr Darcy was the reason why my sister was left heartbroken and then BOOM WHOS THERE ? Mr DARCY Also completley drenched from the rain
I absolutely love this movie because of him, and her, but him mainly. Such voice, such hesitaiton and battling of inner feelings. I wish there were more of Macfadyen in such movies. Aahhhhhhhhhh
The part where Liz says “Perhaps you should take your aunt’s advice and practice.” and then it cuts to Darcy barging in the room trying to “practice” is just absolute comedic gold. 😂😂

Then also President Coriolanus Snow as the father of the Bennet sister. This movie's casting is absolutely awesome
" You must know. Surely, you must know. It was all for you." 😭💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘💘
He loved her from the moment he saw her. It just took time to soften his heart to her.
The way he says "I lo- lov- love you" so trepidatiously at 8:26 just gets me every time.
It say's that the actor was nervous. It was one of his first movies. It was not planned that Darcy starts to stutter...but they kept it in the movies, cause they loved it😊
That's what I've heard
Cry every time I watch the sunrise scene .. when Lizzie gently kisses his hand after saying they are cold.. and Mr Darcy gives that sweet little nod .. the look of awe on his face is priceless.. as the look as she approaches him .. the answer to his question was already in her eyes ..
And then their heads slowly touch as the sun rises behind them .. even a stone heart would melt at this moment .. the most romantic scene ever filmed ..
Matthew MacFadyen and Kiera Knightley have created an unforgettable moment in time .. brilliant and beautiful.. both of them❣

same, bawling my eyes out every time I watch this scene. insanely beautiful

so true, why cant acting be more in depth nowadays......i hate watching woke actors and directors
the only thing i missed in this movie is their walks in the garden... otherwise it's perfect, it could not be better, there will never be anything better
Yes! I really loved that part in the book and I was quite sad they didnt adapt it to the movir 😢 but the movie is perfect anyway haha
There’s so many things from the book that I would have loved to be put in this movie, but I’m happy cause this movie helped me with my imagery while reading
@@soyaliovee have you seen the 1995 series? they include all the details, i watched both, i think the changes in this one befit the characters and enhance our understanding of the reasons both acted the way they did, the details would be too much of a distraction for such a short movie in comparison to the original story

The tension of wanting to kiss in the rain and the end when he’s kissing her by the fountain would have made this video perfect.
@@ourdestinynetworktotally agree
Everything was captured here so brilliantly that no darciness was left out. “Well then, your hands are cold” (then kisses his hand); code for : I accept your confession. This is the best film ever, I’m never tired watching it. I will watch this over and over again because it makes me “completely, perfectly and incandescently happy”.
I watched pride & prejudice for 10000 times and never get tired of it
Matthew is perfect as Darcy. He’s one of my favorite actors, and that voice! I’d listen to him read the phone book.
The way Darcy looks and acts around her and the amount of times he’s looked at her is pure cuteness because he can’t stop falling for her. Only a Darcy could perform such pining. ❤
Just him walking to her in the early morning hours warms my cold heart..every time..❤
Oh that handgasm is everything
HANDGASM HELP 😭 💔
OnlyHands 🤝
The fact that I knew exactly what you were referring to. 💀 😂
Matthew's voice never fails to capture me completely. 😍Love this film.
His eyes and expression when he first saw her 😫😩❤️
I love how he nods ever so slightly right after she takes his hand and says "your hands are cold". And the birds singing in the background as their foreheads touch. Man, I love them so much❤️
The scene where he sees her peaking through the door and they lock eyes is the best!
This is my favorite movie! I don’t even like these sorts of movies but this one is sheer perfection. The chemistry, the cinematography, the writing, everything! Never tiring of watching it.♥️
And the score!
I watched it for the first time 7/13/23 and am completely obsessed with it now. I've repeated some scenes an unhealthy amount of times 😂
Happy to know it isn't just me.@@ivett.e

He noticed her from the very first time at the ball. Attraction just grew.
I met one guy who has the same characteristics like Mr. Darcy. He hardly shows or says too much but you can feel it from his eyes.
my god🥹🥹🥹🥹🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺, aren’t you a lucky girl
My husband was like that…until I corrupted him 😂😂😂
So what happened?
Oh man, those are the most interesting and mysterious ones. I hope it ended well.
WHERE DID YOU FIND HIM PLEASE I NEED SOMEONE LIKE MR DARCY
Every time I watch this movie I'm amazed by the script and also the author. How remarkably she had put a man's feelings on the mark. Absolutely 💯
Gotta remind myself of Mr.Darcy after Succession😅 I think Matthew can play vulnerability like no one else. Just makes you feel for him whether as a socially awkward bachelor or as a two face, wimpy husband.
You should catch him in MI-5 (aired as Spooks in the UK). I think he was there in the first season.
you are on point💯💯💯💯
I watched it more than 15times. And I will watch again and again
Even i have watched it so many times. I will never get tired of this
P&P and Sense and Sensibility... 😔 I swoon 😂😂😂
Same girl same
There is not even a single kissing between the romantic leads in this movie but it was the most romantic movie I have ever seen.
@@angelaevans7513 that one was actually meant to be an alternate extended credit scene that didn't get through in the original release in the cinema.
In thee American version they kiss right at thee end and its beautiful 😍
I dislike the kiss in the US version. If you understand Austen, and English Reserve, you know there's no need for it. The film is also about Mr Bennet's relationship with his daughters,, and Lizzie is the one who shares his intelligence and love of poking fun at people.
The fact that he says Collins’s and Charlottes home is charming and then we see Pemberly 😂
What point are you trying to make?
@@solarqueen2555he’s desperately trying to make conversation
I mean just because it's quaint doesn't mean it lacks charm.
"You must know it was all for you." I'm not crying, you are. 😭
Matthew M does more acting with the subtleties of his expression than most do with full lines of dialog ! ❤ Kiera too, she is my favorite actress. I watch this movie several times a week and usually forward to these clips. Thanks for saving me the trouble!
there;s so much depth in both of their actings jeesus....actors and movies nowadays could neverrrrr
I watched it 7 times in a row after first 😂 fell in love with it from the start
Charme, vulnérabilité, froideur, malices, passion maîtrisée. Perfect relationship❤
I love the part where Lizzie is visiting Charlotte and Darcy comes over to tell her his feelings but then loses his nerve 😊
My first time or two watching I struggled to find the moment he started falling for her. Eventually you realize that it's almost instant and the comment about her being "barely tolerable" in the beginning is him trying too hard to play it cool since his bestie noticed right away.
This was the best portrayal of Mr Darcy
Disagree. I liked him but prefer Firth.
Like so many others, I adore this film. I can't watch it enough. It takes me to a different time.
This is for me the most romantic of all movies. Elizabeth and Darcy are perfection. I could never tire ot this beautiful film.
He is one of the reasons I love this movie. I love his voice!! Omg
I laughed every time he jumped up then sat back down. 😊
I watched this over and over when I was a teenager. The scenes where they danced together and when they 'broke-up' in the rain were my favorite parts. And the way he always paid attention to her was thrilling and romantic. The soundtrack is underrated, too.
‘Swoooon! @ 8:28 with the 3rd “I love you” and how he can scarcely breathe saying it to her.
it always makes me laugh how darcy looked at collins. like "uuugh get off my space" hahahahahha
Yes it's a look like saying f...off ... "Ms Elisabeth ... I'm a guest..."
😂😂😂😂😂
It was like he was shooing a fly away. Loved it!
matthew macfadyen portrayed mr darcy so so so wonderfully 🌺 i totally fell for both the actor and the character 💘
"......you have bewitched me body and soul....." best line followed by what I think is the best scene of the movie as they come together touching foreheads, the sun shining through, not kissing but letting their affection, love, combine in the space.....aw hearts fluttering all over the place LOL
My favourite Mr.Darcy for ever❤
Let me tell you one of the most beautiful expressions than a man being accepted by the person he loves...especially this man.
Me and my girlfriends used to rewind and rewatch pretty much all of these 😂 love that they're all in one video! ❤
My favorite part is at the end when the sun is rising and he walks towards her- no words- just. that. walk. ❤
with each silent between them it gives so much tension in the air. i held my breath each time for their unspoken chemistry ❤
I can watch it for hundred times or more ❤️
The ending makes me cry such happy tears ❤️
This movie is a piece of art
Never noticed this before but at 6:52 his eye is twitchting as his sister spills the tea
That's a wonderful detail. Thank you for mentioning this
I wish they had made this movie into more of a mini-series or something... There is so much missing, and it would only add to the film. I mean, more screen time with Mr. Darcy, who wouldn't want that?😉
I’m not sure if you’re joking, but the BBC did that with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle. It is far superior to this version.
Yes, I do realize that. That version is one of my favorite adaptations.
Although I do like certain aspects of the 2005 film, the story feels rushed.
I loved the dad in this movie. He loved Lizzy so much and genuinely wanted to make sure his daughter wasn’t marrying Darcy out of force. He just wanted her happy
As it is in the book.
This film is so beautiful, truly love this film ❤
Mr Darcy is so so gorgeously handsome and distinguished ever! He was the perfect pick for the movie! My favourite movie, I could watch it a thousand times
I love the book, truly! BUT this film is just so special the whole I’m running in the rain because I just heard that my beloved Mr Darcy was the reason why my sister was left heartbroken and then BOOM WHOS THERE ? Mr DARCY Also completley drenched from the rain
Love the zoom-in at 3:44. Very Succession-like. Or perhaps I should say these zoom-ins in Succession are very Pride and Prejudice-like lol.
Well, they reminded me of The Office zoom-ins :))
You're absolutely right! @@alexandramaria3867
I've always wondered at that zoom in 😂 it's the only one in the whole movie iirc and it always feels so The Office
I love...I love...I LOVE him as Darcy! 🥰
That last scene when Elizabeth accepts him and the director catches the sun between their two profiles I cry every time because it makes me so happy.
Romantic masterpiece
This movie and the movie Brooklyn with Soirse Ronan are my favorite movies of all.
This is perfection all the way. I never tire of it
I absolutely love this movie because of him, and her, but him mainly. Such voice, such hesitaiton and battling of inner feelings. I wish there were more of Macfadyen in such movies. Aahhhhhhhhhh
I love this version best. Incredible acting and the sweetest scene.
