I really appreciate the “instructional” way you are doing these two videos. No one ever does that with camp cooking and it really helps those of us who are not proficient in the use of cast iron dutch ovens. Great job, and your food looks great! Thank you very much
Hey Adam! Thanks for another great video and thanks for putting in the extra time on your vacations to record them. Like you, I love cooking different ways when we camp. Everything looks delicious! I have a set of bamboo utensils that I use in all of my cast iron so the seasoning doesn't get scratched. Also, every 15 minutes or so, rotate your dutch oven 90 degrees over the coals and the lid 90 degrees in the opposite direction to distribute any hot spots. Thanks again for the great videos!
On that camp chef griddle... They sell (on Amazon) a larger catch basin that hooks on the stove. The can hanger works fine... if you remember a can! Also lets you scoop out grease to ladle back over what you're cooking. I usually do the dutch oven cheat on the stove also. Then you don't have to worry about your bottom coals going out on the ground. There's also a lid gripper that allows you to positively "grip" the lid. We tent camp may times a year, keep up the good work!
You’ve got some nice videos of camping, great sights. I see you have a golden lab. What a nice looking dog. Appreciate the videos Adam. Thanks for sharing.
Growing up when my moms side of the family wood have the family campouts, I would always look forward o the big Sunday morning breakfast, one person would fix the Biscuits and gravy, someone would fix the fried potatoes, bacon, etc, etc.
Hi guys, I stumbled upon your bike rack & spare ire rack video from about 1 year ago......Great design, Great explanations, Great fab, Great install......and your shop is awesome......I think you've worked with metals before!!!.......and thanks for sharing with everyone......Mike & Sarah Mezo, Muncie, IN.
I've done with electronic smoker cold smoked seasalt, what i use in some food: fried salmon. Also on perch or pike it's awesome. Last summer i also picked some juniperberries, wich i use dried as normal blackpepper in some food.
Those two videos were great , thanks so much , I don’t like cooking programmes normally but what you do I think I could get into Adam . We’re are in lockdown in the U K , loved to do what you two guys were doing , Thanks for Sharing your Camping trips. Stay safe and we will look forward to your next trip 🥰👏👏👏👏👍🇬🇧🍺🍺🍺🍺
I've been making gravy for many years, it always surprises me when people tell me they use package gravy (gross) because they don't know how to make it...Huh it's like the easiest thing and really don't take any longer. Most women add too much milk at first. A whisk works best at keeping the clumps knocked out of if and add the milk a little at a time, just enough to keep it from clumping up and let it thicken a little then add it again until it seems like it don't want anymore. Great video, not knocking your methods at all just adding some tips incase anyone struggles with this.
Perhaps deglaze the Dutch Oven with some of your whiskey and apple juice mix? After the browning of the chicken to put all those tasty bits back in play. Great videos. We enjoy them greatly.
Greetings to you from New Zealand or what we we would say here 'Kia Ora' Love watching you and Abby enjoying life and food!!!! I love cooking and feeding people too. Quick question as I am writing to you. I noticed you did not use your Custom made deflector plate this time under the Dutch Oven , Any noticeable change you saw compared to the one you cooked using it at home the other time! Lots of love to you and your family!! seems like I kind of know few of them by name now ;-) Would love to meet you someday if I come there and BBQ together brother!!! God bless you!
So as I'm sitting here eating my dinner of baked chicken with red potatoes, carrots and sweet onions, it occurred to me to wonder how many other people were triggered by watching Adam cook that chicken today :) I'm betting that chicken had more flavor, given the magic rub, but my version is still worth eating :)
"Tired of the Cooking", No Way, it's one of the few things that keeps me entertained. Man I'm so jealous right now it almost physically hurts. I'm stuck in this *amn house right now both from a Genetic anomaly that make me very intolerant to the cold and this Virus which is going Ape *hit here again.
It's a Dutch Camp Oven, so call it a camp oven to keep it simple, and less confusing to the smooth bottom and domed lids of Dutch ovens. There are differences, look them up.
I like to think of myself as a decent southern cook-and I’ve never made a biscuit that’s worth a damn. Those looked great! I agree, outdoors cooking is where it is at. Maybe need to get one of those Dutch ovens. Looked like you were cooking just with coals on top? Also, it don’t matter your politics, the inauguration of an American president is an amazing and special sight. Cheers!
Brian one day down the road I’ll be seeing this again and it’ll be a reminder of a certain time in history I remember. Of all the crazy stuff that’s happened, seeing that will be a reminder of when it happened.
It is very wise of Adam not to bring politics into his channel. His channel is a great place to go to escape from all the lying, stealing, and cheating that goes on in politics. I'll just leave it at that.
I’d buy an Abom cookbook if you and Abby ever have the time to create one.

You guys make me hungry cooking all that food hehe. My wife and i love the show. Look so happy doing the camping and cooking.
Man, I truly enjoy your adventures. Your channel is wholesome family fun and I appreciate that.
Cheers!
Thank you! 👍🏻

Dan in Jupiter
There is no such thing as a 3 second rule when you have a 2 second dog. lol
The food and camp grounds look great. Enjoy your stay.
Why do I think that it's always hot in Florida. You guys look frozen. But my word you know how to enjoy yourselves. Love it. Xxx
Abomb seasoned oak leaf.....yum! : - )
Getting hungry now. Love the cooking videos. I think I am going to need a bigger Dutch over. Great videos Adam.

I'm so glad you did that chicken
Nice!! Mouth watering... :-)
NICE little skillet!!!!😍
4:00 quality time with the family....
Bro, u gotta great co-pilot!! She's great!!! Love's ya 💗
Are the additional ingredients in the Abom Rub, besides salt and pepper, a trade secret? I’d love to try it!
Would you care to share what all is in the Abom all purpose seasoning?

Love your videos. Bbq in back yard. Bronx NYC
Adam, Cowboy Kent Rollins has some good videos on cast iron cooking, check him out.
I learned many techniques watching Kent Rollins, a must see

Once the chicken cooks down the pot is full of juice and everything melds together nicely.
That chicken looked so good

Food looks great! How do you like your Ram so far?
Love it!
@@AbomAdventures thank you!
Are those the boots that Trenton & Heath redid for you? If so, how are they working out?
Yep, they are great! Feel awesome!
Now you're doing it right!!! Charcoal under n above!!
Those blue camp chairs are about as comfy as a recliner for camping. We have a set in our camper, don't go anywhere without them.
Give your Dutch oven lid a twist when you place it back on the oven, tech tip.
if you can find some get some B&B charcoal. Last longer and burns more complete.
That little pan would be great for eggs.
Sweet Gathering at camp- S & Gravy and Biscuits. How long does it take start to finish for most breakfast or lunch?
Depends on the meal really, but usually it's about an hour to an hour and a half.
We love this meal! So tasty!
Good ole sheeot on the shingle!! Military love!! We'd run to that in the AM!! Gotta run ALL day!!!👍
We did our ground beef (military grade) the night before to reduce the grease.
Coors banquet it's the best
One tip use only wood utensils with your cast iron keeps you from wearing down or scratching your seasoned cast iron.
Also it sounds a lot better! I can’t stand the metal scraping sound. It gives me shivers. But if that’s what you like, go for it.
I have a suggestion for a new channel for Y'all, "Cooking with Abom & Abby"
cool video :)

Let's go!!
Whatch Kent Rawlings UA-cam channel for cooking with cast iron and coals. I have learned from his channel.
The "pit master" say, If your lookin, you ain't cookin
Cookin just fine even when lookin!
I'm sure no expert. I was just passing along what people wiser than myself have said. Do as you please

LOL.
Be careful the dogs don't get any onions. They are toxic to dogs.
Up early for sure
PS I have to say ROLL TIDE ROLL

I was enjoying the videos until he brought up politics. Bye.
