Kevin Ashurst used to catch with just a piece of peacock quill flat for roach and allsorts. It's deadly.

The new sonubaits is meant to be more sticky to stay on hook ,is that correct. I must admit I often wrap a lump of paste round an 8mm pellet or baby corn, is that cheating.😁

Hi can you fish without the elastic

if you use a whip instead of a pole there will probably be a quiver tip instead of the elastic but it probably wont be as effective as elastic if you are targetting bigger fish

I like to keep it 10m or less, but I have fished it at 16m in my younger fitter years ha ha
