Hello Chris and Steve thanks again for another first class video, like the olivette style rig too, hope all is well with you and your families, take care neil etherington
I have been using the method with the olivette for 2 years and it is perfect. Especially in natural waters with many different species of fish and great depths. You can also use drilled bullets
Great video and good to see you lads back. Have you tried no shot at all on the rig? The weight of the paste cocks the float and work for me. Brilliant video lads.
Hi Jason, thanks for the kind comments as always, glad you enjoyed the video. :-) Thats another great way of fishing paste, as that way, if your paste is gone you can clearly see so as the float isn't cocked properly!
Steve, as you have some 4mm pellets soaked, why not make some into a paste and use them as an alternative? Sometimes the fish get can shy of a certain bait and you stop catching so its good to have something a bit different, especially as the paste would be a different colour. Just a thought. I'll be fishing tomorrow and I'll have some green swim stim paste and also some soaked 2mm feed pellets.
Hi Sebastian, it's up to you really. It all depends on the venue, the time of year, the conditions. There's so many variables, there's not a simple yes or no answer I'm afraid. Altho in general solid bags are great fished on there own.
Haha, no mate, not retired. The world-wide pandemic hasn't helped us uploading. We try and upload as regular as we can, but it takes a lot of time, which we don't always have. There's only 2 of us, we have full time jobs and families. Each video takes a full day to film and then probably 2 days minimum of editing, which is normally done over the evenings when we get a spare couple of hours.

Smash that like button if you love a bit of summer paste fishing!

Does the olivette not pull the hook out of the paste?

I'll ask Steve and find out for you. :-)
How are you plumbing it ? Dead depth or an inch or or 2 on the deck ?
Dead depth I think mate! I'll check with Steve for you though.
Great video and good to see you lads back.

Great video, have you had any of the relatively newly stocked barbel out of Reepham yet?
Thanks George! We haven't as yet, hopefully we will do soon though. :-)

Nice idea Clive, I'm sure that would work too! Good luck tomorrow, hope you manage a few! :-)
Hi quick question what have u used to stop the running Olivet hitting ur hook
He's hot a rubber stop on the line to cushion the Olivet and keep it away from the hooklenght
9:13 Try listening, it helps..
No worries Barry! :-)
is sea fishing coming back on the channel this year ?
Yes mate, got 2 nice videos in the edit.
You use hollow elastic, so what size solid elastic is equal ?
I'm not too sure mate, I'll all Steve for you! :-)
Great stuff, super method demystified. Good to see you back on the bank. 👍
Thanks as always Simon, hope you're well and that you've been catching a few!
Hi, when I fish with solid bag, do I have to also put extra bait in with a spod or something or will the solid bag bait be enough?
What do you mean by "solid bag"?
Hi Sebastian, it's up to you really. It all depends on the venue, the time of year, the conditions. There's so many variables, there's not a simple yes or no answer I'm afraid. Altho in general solid bags are great fished on there own.
Do you ever treat the carp you catch ?
With some fishcare products? If so regularly when big carp fishing.
Sorted thanks
No worries Barry! :-)
Nice one lads! What pole would Steve recommend for a young angler on a budget between the £300-£500 range thanks a lot
I've got the 13m daiwa c2 and used it for a season. Very good. About £550 but I think the c1 is a little cheaper now. Hope this helps
Greg Charman thanks a lot mate been looking for a review on these poles cheers👍
Hi Joe, there's some good answers below I think! I will speak to Steve for you though to see what he can recommend. :-)
Hi
Hi!
About time i thought youd retired
Patience is a virtue. Always worth the wait. Or if you can't wait, upload some videos yourself?
