      Pretty funny actually. I laughed a bit. Obligatory rebuttal though, notice our instructors aren't "kitted" out in tactical gear, nor does our range have a bunch of tactical posters and banners hanging in the background and it's a stock 870 with only a shell holder attached. Pretty tame in comparison. Lastly, "tactical" isn't anywhere in the video title or description. We pride ourselves on being a professional firearms training academy as opposed to a lot of these fly by night, here today, gone tomorrow schools. We've been around since 1992, long before tactical became tacticool.

    • @GoldenSealEnterprises
      @GoldenSealEnterprises  3 роки тому

      It depends on the model, most of the 870s do have the orange follower. The police models use a metal follower. Replacing the follower is usually one of the first upgrades I do with my 870s but the one in this video is stock.

    Do you have to push the action release trigger every time you want to shoot another shell?

    • @GoldenSealEnterprises
      @GoldenSealEnterprises  3 роки тому +1

      No, just to load the first shell into position. Pulling back on the action, or "racking" it will do the same thing. If there is a spent casing, it will eject it on the rearward pull of the action and on the forward pull it will elevate a new round into the chamber. Using the action release button/lever to load the first round into the chamber is just a more controlled method and what we teach since it also serves the dual purpose of familiarizing students with what that lever does and how the action on a shotgun works.

    • @GoldenSealEnterprises
      @GoldenSealEnterprises  6 років тому +3

      Hey Digger, thanks for the comment. We were producing one a month and the views just weren't there to justify the cost we were spending on a production team. We'd like to get back to making more videos and just doing the filming and production ourselves.
      As far as CCW, I carry with one in the chamber. Just make sure you're using a secure holster (retention) and apply all the standard safe unloading procedures when back home. For home defense, I do not keep one in the chamber. The difference being the scenarios for each, one typically requiring immediate action and the other (a home invasion) usually involving movement to contact. There's also the chance that an intruder hearing a shotgun racked is enough to make them bug out. It's one of those universal sounds most everyone recognizes thanks to Hollywood.

      If it's a new shotgun, it will get smoother as it's used. If it's not new, make sure it's clean and lubed. You can cycle the action a few hundred times on a newer shotgun to smooth things out. Make sure the shotgun isn't loaded and is on safe first.

    • @GoldenSealEnterprises
      @GoldenSealEnterprises  6 років тому +1

      So you're getting the shells to move back after pressing in on the shell latch, they are just getting stuck on the shell elevator? Is the shell elevator moving back into position by chance? You should be able to just press the elevator back down.

    • @TFrills
      @TFrills 6 років тому

      Yes they are moving back and getting stuck. I try to push the shell elevator up toward the top, away from the shells, but it won't move. I already put my gun away so I can't say for sure, but I was only able to unload my gun by repeatedly pumping the action and then flipping the gun over, the shells wouldn't come out on their own. I may have to talk to someone about this in person.
