    small hint - the coax is at least for the first 1500 or 2000 metres, close enough to ballistic match to the grom. if smoke gives you hell, hose them a bit with machinegun, watch the shotfall, if it looks good, open fire with grom.

    M60 is obscenely tall. bracket it to the turret roof and you should get a better reading from the stadia. It should only start to degrade out near the effective range of the grom.

    Your Grom shots were pulling right because the vehicle wasn't on level ground - older/simpler fire control systems (in this case, Mk.I eyeball) cannot apply cant correction like the more sophisticated ones can. At present IIRC only M60A3 and Abrams have cant correction (Bradley might but I don't remember), T-64B and T-80B should have it too (T-64A FCS is essentially same as T-72 except with split image coincidence rangefinding instead of the laser). If you're visibly tilted to the horizon, aim off slightly to the opposite side of your target for longer range shots, especially lower velocity rounds. Sabot is largely point and click unless the angle is extreme or the range is near maximum effective range of the weapon.

      it's not just a simple effect but is fully simulated as it's takes in a lot of factors example

      - are the hatch's open or closed ?
      - how much oxygen is available ?
      - there the round penetrated ?
      all of this is being simulated in real time

    great work
    also fun fact : the BTR and BMP both came from the same program . the BTR was for motor rifle units and the bmp for mechanized infantry
    also the grom has on issues penetrating the front armor of the m60 at any range as it's just simple steel not composite armor

    IRL how do you reload the Malyutka? You would have to get out of the vehicle and put a new one on the rail manually wouldn't you?

    • @akkapamagaming
      @akkapamagaming  Рік тому +1

      Yup! Same for the TOW's of the Bradley. So really, during combat, you only have the ammo that is loaded. Once the fighting stops or you get to a somewhat safe location, you can reload the missiles.

    • @TimothySielbeck
      @TimothySielbeck Рік тому +5

      I saw a video of it some time ago. There is a small hatch behind the launch rail that the missile is pushed through then a short length of wire is used to put the fins in their flight position. It takes a little while to reload it but the gunner wouldn't have to get out of the turret.

    • @yoloman3607
      @yoloman3607 Рік тому

      @@TimothySielbeck This is correct, though they have to operate/reload the fagots on the BMP-1P variants from outside though since it was a quick refit. BMP2s which had the new turret could reload from inside again as designed.

      @@akkapamagaming you can open the hatch behind the rail and load it from inside

    • @Mach-2-Fishbed
      @Mach-2-Fishbed Рік тому +1

      @@akkapamagaming The Malyutka was reloaded from the inside. A small hatch exists above the barrel to allow the gunner to reload a new missile. All the gunner had to do was elevate the gun to +30 degrees, open the small hatch, slide the missile with its launch rail onto the launcher, unfold the fins, and lower the barrel back down. After firing, he simply has to take the old launcher rail off and repeat.
      Keeping the gunner safe from enemy fire was considered fairly important. This can be seen as the Malyutkas fins were folded for storage and had to be unfolded after being loaded onto the launcher. He could do it by just reaching his hand out, but that was considered risky, so he was provided with a special stick to push the fins into the deployed state so he didn't have to expose his hand/arm.
      Once you get to the BMP-1P mounting the Konkurs on the turret roof though, that's fully exposing the gunner to fire and load the missiles while the BMP-2 would one again, allow firing and loading from the inside with minimal exposure.
