@@akkapamagaming Yup, if you play the "Silver Dart" level, if you leave BRDMs alone they will shoot at you from over 1km away and hit you scope, killing the Laser Rangfinder and ballistic computer, leaving you with a very similar sight to the T-55A
A HEAT round without a shoulder fuze can crush if it doesn't get a good nose probe strike, and the inner conical lining will then be malformed enough to prevent proper penetrator jet formation. This is why the shot at 17:08 didn't work. The next version of that round (M456A2) was redesigned to fix this issue. This is also similar to how cage/slat armor works: if the RPG nose probe doesn't hit directly on a slat, the warhead will crush itself on the metal as it passes through, rendering it ineffective. It's a kind of last-ditch saving throw.
LoL, this game reminds me suddenly of ”M1 Tank Platoon” game I played in my childhood in early 90s. 😂 The main difference between it and this game is ”polygon count in graphics” 😅
In my opinion, the M1 Abrams is the sexiest looking MBT today. I love clean angular designs, and to me that turret looks like it was cut like a diamond. Love how all the sides slope up. It just has such a sturdy beefy look it it. I also love the sound of that Honeywell turbine engine.
It's a brilliant looking tank without doubt. Especially the M1A2 SEP V4 looks MEAN! But I have to admit, I'm more of a cat guy myself. Love the Leopard 2A6 and A7.
I just wanted to say I really appreciate this series of video ! The introduction is always interesting, the editing is nice, the gameplays is good and your voice is calm and nice to hear. So thank you for your videos! :)
HAH, that was my comment. When fighting either of the T72 variants in this game, I recommend trying to hit just below the hull deck on a flank shot. A sabot round will usually punch completely through, and a HEAT round will spall out enough and USUALLY pop the ammo carousel. Hell, you can do it with the 25mm on the Bradley. However, If the fight has been going on for awhile, there may not be any charges to hit, so you'd merely hinder their ability to load ammo.
Interesting to see how different people approach the same mission - initially I'd shoot from the bowl by the enemy's northern scout marker, but this tended to end poorly, so I briefly shifted to heading all the way north, around the back of the enemy, and then south along the ridgeline you ended up shooting from. My usual method now is to stay west along the roads, take a passing shot at their scout as it unmasks from the trees, turn right at the crossroads by the little farm, and then follow the spur all the way to the end. This then leaves me behind the enemy with a mostly clear line of sight, and I can bring my platoon with me without them alerting the enemy (as there's solid terrain between me and them the whole way to my firing position). On the other hand, this may become significantly less safe as infantry appear and the battlefield gets more fleshed out.
You sound truly appreciative of the people that watch your videos which always makes me more inclined to watch them, not to mention the videos are great, good work
Also you kinda disobeyed orders and killed a bunch of tanks without permission. Like halfway through killing the BMPs it told you to leave that you had done enough to attrite the enemy, but you just kept on killing lol.
That was the vision at one time. I still have hopes DCS will feature a true integrated battlespace at some point. If IL-2 Sturmovik can achieve it, so can DCS.
Watching that one turret spinning in the air and bouncing around with the plume of smoke attached to it like a rigid object was very funny. I'm not going to say anything negative though, I understand this is a work in progress and is still early in development.
Do you have any further info about this? Sources, references? I've been trying to find info about it but can't really find anything credible besides pictures.
@@seanmurphy7011 Right but the question of the matter is, did they get involved in combat, or did they just get deployed there without being further involved? Because as far as I could find, there is plenty of info showing M1(ip)'s were send to the Gulf War, but nothing that proofs their combat deployment. The only bit of info I have found that could indicate they did fight in the Gulf War, is an ammo inventory list that shows how much ammo was send to the Gulf War and how much was retrieved. This inventory actually shows that several thousands of 105mm ammo didn't come back after the war. Which could indicate that they were shot. However it could also mean that they were over-date and just weren't shipped back. I'm actually in contact with the US Army Center of History to find facts about the exact use of the M1(ip) in the Gulf War. Hopefully I can give a difinitive report in my M1IP video soon!
It's a tracer, meaning there's a bit of colored burning powder in the back of the round which is ignited when the round is fired. It helps to see the trajectory of your ammo so you can more easily correct your aim. But I do have to admit that the tracer is a bit much on GHPC. IRL they don't look so glowy and big.
The announcement so far is PvE multiplayer first with no timeline on PvP multi. It will probably depend on the success of the game. So given how far this early access game has come in the last year, I believe it’s worth the risk of getting the game so the chances of its success, and eventual PvP, is worth it.
