Pretend you only have first gear ..
    Stick to parking lots...
    Cover rear brake.....
    Throttle modulation is a must..
Rev slightly more on the clutch ups
    Don't waste time chasing.....
    Watch gixxer brahs technique....

Thanks man, this is very helpful. I want to learn 1st gear which would help throttle control for sure. A lot more scary though

@@ShakeNBlake509 yup after I started practicing first, I looped but like you I was hardly ever using that rear brake, didn’t have that muscle memory. But fortunately was only goin slow so I just had a bit of scrapes on the bike nothing major

Second gear clutch up. 20 mph rev to 6 k and release the clutch don't dump it. A few tries and you will perfect getting it up. Cover the rear brake and practice using the engine grunt to bring it down.

Balance point is quite a bit further back. 3rd gear clutch ups will give you the most room for error.

Keep to 1 or 2 gear
Go further and further back every day(keep pushing yourself)
Drag rear brake and play with it
You have to think, JUST SEND IT!

Get it up, try out the rear brake, get higher and higher but tap the brake as you go higher and higher, eventually you'll get to the balance point, and eventually you got the balance point figured out :D good luck brother

You should wheelie in third gear much better if u ask me. more time to be up on the back wheel and also easyer. Good thing to think about dont be to stale with ur body aspecialy with ur legs try to have them more fluid with the bikes movment. Lean back also all the time easyer to balance then. Practise is the only thing that makes u less scared.
Keep up the good work! :)

@@2wheelhomie665 Bought a Tenere 700 a few months back and I'm learning first gear power wheelies on it right now and when I'm confident enough with the bike lifting up, I start using second gear clutch ups. Watched a video from an Australian Moto Journalist and racer I guess and his approach to it seems the safest way in my opinion and he gave me the confidence to try it. Stage 1 is power wheelies in first gear with rear brake to let the bike dip in front to use that momentum for a wheelie too. This way you learn to use your rear brake and it becomes muscle memory to use it when something is off. And stage 2 is clutch ups in second gear and after that all the magic you can do like 3rd and 4th gear wheelies while shifting up etc. I'm at stage 1 right now and can get the bike up pretty regularly and for me pretty high. I'm already learning to throttle up while getting back down.

The key to all this is knowing where your bike produces max torque while doing the power wheelies. For me I have to start at 5000rpm and then full throttle as the bike produces max torque at around 6000-7000rpm. So you start lifting it up by reaching that rpm.

    • @mojoscojo
      @mojoscojo 3 роки тому +1

      Agree.
But coming from the dad of one of your friends, if you insist on doing wheelies...
      1. Focus on balance and control. How long can you balance on the bike in your driveway with the motor off? How slow can you go with no dabbing?
      2. Stand up
      3. Get a bicycle and practice
      4. Get a dirt bike and practice
      5. Get a Grom and practice
      6. If you're gonna do stupid things, don't do them with no support. ( Take a friend along. I know you have a few ;-) ) Shit happens.
      7. Seat time is everything.
