If this was made 15/16 years, it means it would've been made when I was studying abroad in the UK. From what I remember, there wasn't a reggae craze going on at the time. It was mostly dance music, pop, etc. He just, for some reason, decided to do a song in the style of reggae. He could've done dance, pop, etc. Or, better yet, he could've spent that time doing... almost anything else.

My dad grew up in the 80s as a 'Ska-kid', therefore I grew up listening to Ska and Reggae of which I obviously developed a deep love and appreciation for, as many Brits did and still do. Oh I remember this song. I actually remember being like... 10-12 years old, and watching this on the TV, dubbed over in Hungarian. They translated "lamb curry, you give it to me hot" as "lamb curry, you spicy beast", which is... also not great, but arguably so much better than the original. At least calling it a beast doesn't imply that he wants to make sweet, sweet tender love to the lamb curry. I actually enjoy the song and I’m impressed if he sang it. It seems Jamie’s point was to make a specific dish in the time of the song to show it could be done. And it appears from the video that the song lyrics follow the recipe. It’s very catchy. Lots of famous branding uses music to help people remember ingredients or products. I can tell you still all the elements on a certain McDonald’s burger from the 80s. I think this might actually help Jamie. It’s really catchy. It’s been stuck in my head for days.

I actually enjoy the song and I’m impressed if he sang it. It seems Jamie’s point was to make a specific dish in the time of the song to show it could be done. And it appears from the video that the song lyrics follow the recipe. It’s very catchy. Lots of famous branding uses music to help people remember ingredients or products. I can tell you still all the elements on a certain McDonald’s burger from the 80s. I think this might actually help Jamie. It’s really catchy. It’s been stuck in my head for days.
