      Hope you enjoy your 4200xl! Yeah I think it’s not really sold in the us, judging from some other comments (someone please correct me if that’s wrong!) - it’s a shame!

    well having both the magimix and cooking chef xl i could advise using the cooking chef for products that need a more gentle stir (like chicken can fall apart easily after being cooked or braised beef). Also the missing of an internal scale in the magimix is beyond me (the kenwood has one! big deal to me). that said i use the magimix far more then my kenwood because i don't make bake goods that often. the fact that the magimix can roughly chop ingredients without changing to the food processor attachement is a time saver. great for curries, soups, sauces that don't need to be clarified, jams, custards.
    The kenwood has some incredible attachements like the juice extractor or the pasta shaper assortment. but those are an extra cost to consider.

      Thank you for this comment! Quite helpful insight for people who are undecided, as we’re all different in terms of what we do more of in the kitchen.

    Great video. Lots of great ideas there. I absolutely love my cook expert. I’ve had a Magimix food processor since the 70s. I have done sous vide with great success, but must try other things. I also have a cooking chef by Kenwood and love it too. It does seem to mush things more when cooking, but makes marvellous porridge. I mostly use it for baking though.

    Liv, I feel like you need to jump on the Sous Vide trane! I just ordered mine and am excited to see what things I can oddly cook and finish off with a torch. Would be fun to see a comparison between a dedicated unit (like a Joule) vs the cook expert.

    Purchased the Cook Expert which has just arrived and I’m a bit disappointed to be truthful. Magimix really highlight the 30 year warranty as a significant selling point. However, hidden away in the manual for you to discover after purchasing is this nice little tidbit stating the warranty is cut off at 30 years or 1000hrs. If this machine is used in the way it’s pitched for doing regular meals, it’s going to take maybe 5 years before the warranty ends not 30. This feels pretty deceptive and underhanded from Magimix.
    The other annoyance is that whilst the 5200XL comes with storage for all the bits and pieces. The cook expert, the most expensive machine in the line up doesn’t come with appropriate storage. You have all the parts kicking around separately. You need to find spots for everything rather than having one tidy box. Would also be nice to see all of the accessories that come with the 5200XL included with the cook expert, especially when it’s costing an extra $1100. Removing all the premium extras from the most premium machine, that your paying for, leaving you to purchase everything as an extra isn’t great. I would probably be happy if I got it for free, but I’m somewhat underwhelmed for an appliance that costs as much as a car.

      Hi, just saw this comment as well as your comment on the new video, thank you so much for sharing your experience with us! Yes I am also a bit surprised about the storage solution for the CE, having seen the different storage for my previous machine (4200XL). I think I'll have to ask them about the reasoning for this and whether they plan on changing it! Interesting about the hours too... I wonder if they might be helpful though, should you have any issues with it reasonably early on. I have read quite a few positive stories about their customer service in other comments - so hopefully this continues! Are you going to keep it, do you think? Curious to hear how you're getting on with it!

    • @TheFromScratchBody

    Regarding the dough hook, Magimix supply parts. So could you not wait to see if the originak hook gets worn before buying the extra version?

    • @TheFromScratchBody
      @TheFromScratchBody  2 роки тому +2

      Good question! I think what they are concerned about is the longevity of the whole machine, to be honest - rather than the hook itself. But as much as I've seen it work now, I think both the universal blade and the dough hook are very sturdy - as is the motor!

    Thank you for your video, truly helpful. I watched this before deciding to buy one very recently. Sadly it had to go back and I am waiting to try and arrange a replacement - so frustrating as I can't wait to really get started with learning all the different ways to use it!
    I couldn't help noticing how easily you are able to remove and replace the metal bowl. I was unable to do this single-handed and without great effort. Was your bowl very stiff to start with and did it loosen up in time. or was it always as easy as it seems to be in your video?

      Hi Jenni, thank you for your comment! I hope you get your replacement quickly so you can get on with getting to know the Cook Expert and have lots of fun cooking with it! I do think it took me a moment to get used to how to remove and replace the bowl, you do kind of learn how to handle it after a little while... Hope it's the same for you! Does it blend the smoothie as well as a NutriBullet type blender for a small single serve of smoothie? I feel like it would be too little or seem silly to make in such a big bowl

    • @TheFromScratchBody
      @TheFromScratchBody  2 роки тому +1

      Hi! It does blend it perfectly well, however for a small single serve - which I often make myself - I use a VonShef blender (just like a NutriBullet, basically). I think your instinct there is right, it's a big machine for a small bit of smoothie! I also like that with my VonShef I can just use the blender as the glass I drink it from, less clean-up. However if you only had this machine and not a smoothie maker, it could totally do the job if it had to.

      @@TheFromScratchBody thanks for your reply 😊 I got gifted money from a very generous relative recently and decided to use some of it to buy this. I feel a bit sick. I just ordered it online and it’s by far the most expensive kitchen appliance or item I’ve ever bought personally for myself 😬 I cook a lot though, as I’m a mum of 3 kids - one toddler and two teens, so I’m sure it will get a lot of use and hoping the the older kids will cook more because of it. Fingers crossed it’s the right decision, but I feel like it’s definitely an investment and will be well worth it if it lasts as long as the warranty 😊 We do have a NutriBullet too, so we’ll keep that for single serve smoothies. Do you still use and love the Cook Expert? Would love to see you make more recipes 😊 Thanks again, from Australia x

      Hi, thank you for your great question! I have used the metal bowl for jam, it’s got great settings for heating and stirring at the same time. Someone else asked about this too so I reckon I’ll do a video on it! I have used the food processor (large bowl) for peanut butter many times, roasting them in the oven first. It works perfectly! I am curious about doing it all in the CE (roasting and mixing) so I’ll try that, maybe it will be another video! 🤩

    It is basically a hob away from a hob. Don't think it will revolutionise anyone's life. 1200 quid? You can buy a whole gas cooker for less, including the pots and pans

    • @TheFromScratchBody

      A hob with an extra arm and the ability to keep time and change temperatures by itself, perhaps! 😅 I do agree the price is pretty steep though.
