Magimix Blender Power 3 - How am I using it now?
I did a first look and review of my new Blender Power 3, the smallest of the 3 Magimix blenders, in November 2023. I'm back - having tried lots of different things in it now, I share my thoughts and the 5 WAYS I actually use it on a regular basis!

Trying the Magimix Blender Power 3 for the first time!

I test the smallest of the Magimix blenders, the Blender Power 3 Premium (premium meaning it comes with BlendCups and a mill attachment, both of which I also test). This is my very first look at all of this, so it was a totally "blind" test (and you can see that I don't even know what anything is, and totally forget to test what I later learned to be the spatula that you can use to move food ar...

Thank you for this nice presentation! Which size food processor would you chose, if I mainly use it for making a big salad every day? With raw veggies including beets, carrots, red cabbage, cauliflower, brokkoli, etc. I'm considering everything from the mini up to the 5200 XL. Thanks for your help!

Hi and thank you for watching! Depends on the size of the salad I’d say, I would be inclined to recommend bigger if you have space for it as that gives you more freedom (it can still do small batches)! If you are thinking of the 5200 I’d say probably go for that! 💕

I’d say as far as blenders go it’s quiet - certainly quieter than my previous one, and approved by my baby (now toddler) who is pretty much unaffected by it (other than wanting to touch it 😂). However it’s not completely quiet, and some ingredients make a loud noise at first, before they’re ground, like nuts, coffee beans etc… maybe I can do more of a neutral sound test with it when I get a chance to demonstrate! 🥰

I want to make smoothies, bread, pesto, stir fries, pasta dishes, roasted veg, perhaps a roast dinner? So am thinking a Magimix Cook Expert plus a toaster/microwave combination oven would work best. This made me lol! 😂 How long did you leave it to rise, what was the temperature in the room like? It really can slow the process down significantly so you may have to trial and error to find the perfect temperature for the time you are able to wait! Also the amount of kneading you do makes a difference. For example no kneading and cold water will literally require overnight rising - but not everyone is able/willing to wait for that so you can speed up the process with slightly warmer water and/or kneading. ♥️

Hi Martin! Great question. You can definitely do it all in the CE as you can get high temps and fry off the chicken first and then do sauce and add the chicken. People may prefer using the stove but obviously it’s great to be able to do it all in one! I’d say just experiment with it and find a way that works for you. Hi, thanks for your review which is really clear and helpful. After some deliberation about which food processor to buy I have now settled on the magimix, but I'm undecided about which model to buy. I live on my own and already cook all my own meals from scratch, and frequently cook for my partner, my children when they come to stay, and occasionally for family and friends. I'm lucky to have a reasonably sized kitchen although of course the cupboard space is all full at present (aren't they always full?!) but I think I could make room for possibly even the largest model. What would be your recommendation about which model to go for please?

Vitamix's patent on their tamper expired. Interesting how many blenders are suddenly including one. Have you considered a Vitamix? I'm watching your Blender Power 3 (and don't get me wrong, I LOVE my Magimix 5200XL Premium--your vids helped push me over the edge on that one) and I noticed that everything gets thrown upward while it's blending. Vitamixes pull everything down into the blades, so you'd be a lot happier with one for things like nut butters.

@@betmikael28 oh, that's a BRILLIANT idea! A 2+ HP base with a container that you might accidentally leave a utensil in before running. Or how about it develops a hairline fracture and you're blending hot soup (you realize the friction can heat and cook liquid, right?) and it shatters while running at top speed, sending shards of glass flying. Yes indeed--"real glass" certainly is an appropriate choice of medium for the container of a utensil with a motor as powerful as that of a small lawn mower. 🤣 Perhaps you should ask WHY there's no glass container, then consider the possible reasons for that decision.

I find leaving the bulur to stand in the duo undistrubed gives the best result. As for the stock pot just add abit of boling water to it, stir to dissolve then add the rest of the water to cool it off and stir them together. When using the instant pot we use a ratio of bulur to water of 1 to 1.5, if we use a pot on the stove or microwave a ratio of 1 to 2 this allows for the water lost to even with a lid. With our yum asia sakura rice cooker we use a ration of 1 to 1 due to a slower temp cook and longer time. These are the cooking time we use with our setup, Medium coarse bulgur #2 takes about 12 minutes to cook, Coarse bulgur #3 takes between 12 to 14 minutes, Extra coarse bulgur #4 takes about 15 minutes. I would suggest trying small batches till you dial in your ratios of water and times. The best channel i have found for all Turkish and middle eastern cooking has been Refika's Kitchen on you tube. Excellent recipes and general cooking information, with a side of turkish culture and history. Never stop looking for better ways to prepare your food to suit yourselves, hence why i enjoyed this watching this video. Take care. God bless one and all.

The oil in commercial oat milk is to make the oat milk creamier. The oil is incorporated with an emulsifier so that it becomes a creamy suspension and later mixed into your oat milk. That way, you get a similar creamy mouthfeel like fairy milk when u drink it.

    • @TheFromScratchBody
      @TheFromScratchBody 3 місяці тому

Hi, yes it’s one of the only (if not THE only) slightly annoying things for me with this. However it’s only really with very runny stuff that this happens (a bit of splash, basically), and it doesn’t add tons of clean up so I personally wouldn’t consider it a deal breaker. For example, one of the things I use the small bowl for the most is mayonnaise, and I don’t have that spill over (unless I mess the mayo up and it goes runny 😂). Basically, depends on how annoying you find cleaning up! If you are mostly doing small quantities, perhaps a blender would be better? The Magimix blenders are great as you can add stuff while it’s running just like with a food processor. I guess it depends what you will use it for the most! 💕

@@TheFromScratchBody you're part of the reason I bought a 5200XL--you look to be having so much fun. My Cuisinart is 35+ years old and it's clearly going to be a LONG time before the Cook Expert graces North America, so it was time to bite the bullet. 😡

Thank you, very clear and concise. After a lifetime of eating junk, I’m trying to swing the other way. Probably shutting the stable door well too late…but no more oil in my coffee. Thank you.

Great demo! I was wondering if this would also fully replace a standmixer? Since it does kneading, mixing and whipping. Or would a standmixer still be better for these tasks? We have limited counter space so having an all-in-one option would be amazing.

Thank you so much for watching and for the comment! In my opinion- yes, it can definitely replace a standmixer. I don’t have one and never miss it. If anyone in the comments disagrees, please do share your opinion of course! But I can’t really think of anything a standmixer does that the CE couldn’t do.

You say 3mins , almost to the second ,to make your almond butter .... But the clock on your oven says different... Pants on 🔥 !

Oh Darren, you’re adorable 😂🥰 Yes I can see the clock, obviously I didn’t hide it, which I guess I would have done if I was.. lying about …how long almond butter takes (not sure why I would? 😅) When you make videos, you often have to stop. Batteries run out, someone walks into the kitchen and you have to pause, etc. So you do an edit. But the actual process of the almond butter still took as long as I say in the video. But keep up the internet detective work though! You’re doing great! 🕵🏼‍♂️💪🏼

i would prefer the filling to still have some bits and not be like a paste but if you did it because of the child that makes sense i guess

Yes I totally hear you! I like that sometimes too, depending on my mood 😁 You can chop by hand to keep more texture, or just “pulse” the mix in the fp for a few seconds rather than run it for longer like I did. 🥟

Hi. I was looking at the old 3200 compact magimix recipe book and it just says to use plain flour. I have been baking bread for a number of years and always used bread flour which is very strong. This is what I believed it had to be. Though I do sometimes mix rye and wholemeal in with it. Is it just plain flour you are using or 00 bread flour? Really enjoying your Magimix videos too.

Hi, thank you for your lovely comment and for a really great question! Both types of flour are absolutely fine to use. The protein content in plain and bread flour are slightly different (higher in bread), and the proteins form gluten together - which creates the chewy texture in bread. So bread flour gives you slightly chewier, textured bread, and plain flour results in baked goods that are a bit softer. It’s a question of taste, and what you’re making, for example I do plain flour for bread rolls and polar bread etc, and bread flour for my bread loaves, sourdoughs and bagels. Also in all honesty I’ll use whatever I have a lot of the time! 😂
