Lawrence Hill fights ban on his historical novel, The Book of Negroes

Canadian author Lawrence Hill is pushing back after Ontario’s London District Catholic School Board dropped his acclaimed historical novel, The Book of Negroes, from its curriculum over its inclusion of the N-word. Hill calls the decision a mistake that excludes works by Black creators from schools.
