Essential viewing in my family on a Sunday evening in the 70s. After that there was nothing left except laying out your uniform for school the next day.
Saw Giltrap in concert in a small intimate club in the Lake District many years ago. He starts off by saying he will play something to loosen up his fingers, then plays this.
Simon Phillips plays drums on the original recording of 'Heartsong', on the album 'Perilous Journey', Niko McBrain played on the 1973 album 'Giltrap' 🙂
Gordon Giltrap is not only a guitar legend but a really nice guy. One of the most underrated and humble musicians in the business.
such an uplifting piece!! if i was wearing a hat right now I'd take it off to Mr Giltrap.
Grew up with this as the theme music to the Holiday programme in the 70’s, later found it a a single great memories

The drummer came up to Leeds to study. I was at Leeds too. Circa 1975. He was a great bloke.
That is Eddy Spence playing keys who is clean shaven. I am facebook friends with him. He has more recently been with The Glitter Band.
Remember his big breakthrough and saw him a number of times backstage and stuff. A really nice guy
Great nostalgic track I forgot about.
great guitarists , seen him at newcastle city hall when he released this fantastic .
Found this on my ipad, beautiful song
This instrumental track is a missed xmas hit! It could have been a big xmas hit.

Superb band, beautiful number.
I saw him last night. Still good

Just found out my mates’s Dad is the Drummer here. Shout out Big Dave.
Only miming 'cos the track was actually played by the legendary Simon Phillips on the record...
Is it Ian Mosely who went on to join Marillion?
@@WarrenCromartie2 I think it is. Recent interview with Simon Phillips I think said he couldn't do it and Ian stepped in for this.
@@littleshakers He played it many a time live on tour though
Gordon is my mates Dad..😎
Saw him at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane
Bu müziği dinlerken ,Kemal Sunal “atla gel şaban” filmi aklıma gelir....
Nicko from Iron Maiden played drums on the original recording.

Is that a Leeds Utd scarf I see on the keyboard?🤔
Yes.
An instrumental group got onto top of the pops ? Strange generation indeed
Actually it wasn't as rare as one might think.
That Noel Edmonds on keys? 😀
It's his wig.
Noel Edmonds couldn't play a keyboard if his life depended on it. He's just like Simon Cow-eyes living off the backs of everyone elses talent.
I believe this drum intro influenced the intro to an Iron Maiden song, the name of which escapes me 🤔
Atla Gel Şaban
Me Thinks 1978 ?
It was released in 1977. It's from the Album 'Perilous Journey'.
This was from the 26-1-1978 edition of TOTP but it was a repeat performance from the 22-12-1977 edition.
