Met your Dad a couple of times, last time I had the pleasure of playing a piece before he came on. He was so polite to chat with me throughout the interval, and brilliant to find out he’s great buddies with Fred Baker, my old guitar teacher at Bham Conservatoire. All the very best to you Rach, and best wishes to Gordon.
Classic - I watched it on TV when it was broadcast. I love the tune and the performance, and the classic line, 'shame they forgot the words'! That has stuck with me ever since!
Just recently heard this classic hit of the past on the same Kenny Everett show on channel 183. It brought back some great memories and I've loved this Heart Song ever since. Haven't heard this music for so many years!! Big thanks for uploading this video. It's now in my UA-cam favourite list. Made my day!! 👍😊
Seems to me Mike Rutherford was probably influenced by this as evidenced by his album "Smallcreep's Day" which was released about 2 years after Heartsong. There's a few tracks on that Mike Rutherford album that have a similar feel to Heartsong.
My wonderful dad Gordon Giltrap 😀

just met him tonight in Sheffield. Lovely man xxx
Richie Blackmore always named Gordon as an inspiration. 'Nuf said.
I first heard this on the 'Holiday ??' show and spent AGES trying to find out what it was BEAUTIFUL playing. The closing synthesiser really makes it!

Thanks for watching and happy to hear that you enjoyed it :-)
I remember buying the tune on 45. The b-side was great as well 👍🥳
Excellent.
Full length version is on the album it's brilliant.
This one's an absolute corker! I love it! It reminds a bit of Oldfield and also Camel but it's really its own thing.

Clive Bunker on drums
Looks like a floor tom adapted to a bass.
Perry on his short scale Wal.
Blackmore SUCKED!!
