I just ordered base 512/24 to upgrade my mini m1, I’ve satisfied m1 for common tasks even tons of browser tabs and several apps open with Pixelmator Pro on 8gb ram, I think it will be real upgrade after m1 😀
Hello first time buying a iMac I got this but can I connect a Bluetooth keyboard to the Mac mini and if I connect it to my tv will the sound come out the tv thank you so much for your help love your channel
I have an m1 MacBook Pro with extra ram added, and 2018 iPad bro. I’ve been thinking about upgrading either one, but since I already have a monitor for the MacBook I think this is the best choice. Anyone else agree/disagree? I’m a graphic designer/creative director
@zollotech thank you aaron. I have a DJI Mini 4 Pro and GoPro and multiple phones with good cameras and wanted to be able to edit them if I can plug in a fast bigger hard drive to it on Thunderbolt and be as fast as it being inside the mac Mini Pro I'm still at the video that would be awesome just need a nice keyboard and mouse and monitor that doesn't cost a lot. It has to be an HDMI monitor? Can you put in the description for this video a decent Monitor and relatively cheap mouse and keyboard that you would purchase yourself for this Mac Mini Pro?
With Thunderbolt 5 I wonder if you could use 2 Mac Mini's as like a render farm in Apple's Compressor like we use to do with Intel and PowerPC chips over a network.
Should I buy the M4 Mac mini with the configuration of m4 pro base chip, 24gb ram, 1tb ssd? I need it for video editing for yt channel, photo editing for photography, programming python and java script apps, web browsing and media consumption. I want to upgrade from my old windows gaming pc from 2018 which has i7 8700 and gtx 1050 ti, and I’m willing to upgrade it and move to my first Mac.
@@clinteastwood8222 I mean base cores vs better cores of the same m4 pro chip since the pro chip has 2 versions. Also 24gb ram and 512gb ssd is good enough for me or I should go for higher ram and storage?
As someone who uses the M1 Mac Mini as my work driver (spec’d to 16 GB of ram and 512 of storage), I’ve loved the form factor, but if the M4 frame is the way they’re moving forward with the look, I’ll have to get a new VESA mount, or rearrange my desk, due to the form factor, assuming I’ll keep with the series (have been tempted by the Mac Studio, but now that the Mac Mini can upgrade a fair bit above 16 GB of ram, I could work with it still, on my next upgrade).
Going to trade in my M2 mini for this M4 mini ASAP. Looks like it’ll be half price after the trade value! I wish I was that lucky with my m4 iPad Pro, which is now only valued at $250 for trade…
Best comment about the power button out of the past 10 Mac mini videos. It's not a big deal and there's also power button wake button on the keyboards.
The argument I hear a lot is it’s ok the new Mini doesn’t come with WiFi7 since very few are running a WiFi7 network. Is there some giant list of Thunderbolt 5 peripherals out there some of us don’t know about?
Hey thanks for the information but I’m confused you said at first that this model was. 256 gig then you said 512 gig before you started the speed test of the ssd can you please verify which model it was the one you made the speed test
You're right about the power button. Why people are so worked up over the power button is pretty ridiculous. Only needing it hit it a few times a year (at most) it will be a non-issue. Apple may should have talked about that more in the presentation, though, as that may have prevented some of the silliness that came out of it.
Thank you for your video, it's always great. 2 questions 16 or 24 ram? and 512 storage look very small even with a external hard drive, looking for 1to so i will not always manage the space. I have a imac M1 16 ram et 1 to storage. I wold like to have your advise. Normal usage and some final cut pro.
@@zollotech ok i'll go with 24 gb ram but 512 for storage if i buy a 2to ssd external, i will have to still manage space on the mac? Thank you so much for you response i really appreciate.

it's a beautiful design but I'm happy with my M2 chip Mac mini. No one is complaining about the size of Mac mini nor do anyone complain about not enough power the iPad is. Apple should probably work on more AAA gaming compatibility on macOS that will make Mac more competitive compared to PC. Otherwise Mac is just a video editing tour or Internet surfing tour. for these, most mobile phones and tablets already can do even better job than max. not to mention even smaller size.
I'd say its surprisingly decent. Its usable if you don't have anything else but I feel its going to be highly dependent on where you have the thing located relative to your display. I'll mostly be using headphones on mine.
With a mac mini you can use a USB-C /thunderbolt to VGA adapter and use an old monitor too. If you choose to avoid the apple tax on storage using a TB4 caddy and NVME drive to boot from Apple Intelligence won't work 🤬 IT's A BIG issue IMO. The thing that's REALLY annoying is my NVME drive is faster than the internal M4 PRO drive 512gb drive, running @ 2900 mbs read and write
Yes, it will. You don’t have to have a high-end version to have Apple Intelligence. You just use the main drive as the boot and use the external for everything else.
Design by Apple in California , but made in China!.

Your base model mac mini benchmark scores are lower than all other youtubers having the same device! What could be the reason?!
They dont have the base maybe? Mine is the Base M4. I am guessing they have the Base M4 Pro? I took it out of the box. Updated it, installed the latest versions of the macOS 15.1 and the latest apps and ran benchmarks. That's it. I have no idea what others scored, but this is what mine did.
@zollotech thanks for the prompt reply.. They seem to be having the base m4.. not the pro! Perhaps not the 256GB variant. Thanks for ylur response.... Appreciate it mate
