Morning coffee, Andre, and a Commander driving up a snowy mountain…what's better?! (Props to the crew who had to stand outside freezing while Andre was ripping around 😆 )
Agreed! Loving these videos TFL! Got my deposit down though, so I'm already sold. Just patiently waiting for delivery. (I lied, I am very impatient lol)
A assume machine. I have a 2013 can am commander and it is like a small tank. It's never let me down. working or playing very versatile machine. I'm glad they finally changed the overall bodystyle and moved the motor back. Not having to set in a hot box makes trail riding a lot more fun.
Nice review for the novice, which I am. Trying to decide between the Can-am Commander XT or a Razor....this leads me to believe that this is the best model for a new guy
Vehicles like this are street legal in some smaller towns. So if you live in one of these towns, the price makes sense. It like having a more affordable Jeep.
Fun video! love mountains! I live in Tucson, Arizona and we are surrounded by mountains and hiking trails, but I like watching other people’s videos and vlogs about their adventures in other places. Thanks for sharing! I’m following!
These things are light and nimble, you can make it damn near anywhere. I'm always shocked by where I can get w my Rzr even in 2 wheel drive (with adequate momentum). I know its steeper than it looks but that's a purpose built unit!
I love Cam Am. I have a 2015 Commander XT. I have to admit though, I think they dropped the ball on this new machine. It looks like a step backwards from the older model. The biggest thing they didnt do? Piggy back suspension.
@@1gr8oil the XTP always has. It should, its the top of the line model and your are paying for it. Its almost $5000 more then the XT. My point is, all machines, even lower end ones, come with piggy back suspension them. The Commanders closest competitor, the Polaris General has much better suspension and yes, piggy back, on every trim level, including the lowest. I have never been a fan of Polaris ATV's, but they have come a long way. The General, in my opinion, is a much nicer machine that gives you more bang for your buck. Can Am needs to do better.
Sweet, but that snow is nothing I went on a elk hunt last year right after Thanksgiving and I was in 2 feet of snow with 2019 can am commander MAX 800r DPS in the southern Rocky mountains with o issues of getting stuck
That's a four seater right? It would be more convincing to me to have three more body's filling those three vacant seats, to see how it performs, for what it was intended for🤔 One other thing..... That extra compartment for that CVT transmission belt, is a big 'red flag' in my opinion. It's not all bad though, Andre you do give a great review as always! Keep on keeping on top of the mountains.👍👍😋 BIGGUN
BOG GUM..............So why is it a "RED FLAG"? Those compartments can hold more things than a belt. And if you're referring to the belt as a "WEAK LINK", I have seen CANAM's with over 5,000 miles running on the same belt!!
@@1gr8oil Always carry an extra CVT belt (OR TWO!) on your trips so you can do a field-strip and replace. They say you can only do the CVT belt replacement in the garage BUT I have seen it done in-field with some portable collapsible ramps you carry in the bed, some strong and long tiedowns and a set of big rocks and trees to tie down the Can-Am securely. It takes about four hours to do PROPERLY in-field with the right tools! @Bigmanbam44 You under estimate that which has been proven time and time again to be just as capable long before these toys were invented. ;). I am not a Jeep fanatic, but there are countless fanatics that will argue with you to death over this. lol
@@phantasmagoric3934 Dude I ride Hard & Fast... I've replaced a few Belts LOL but no issues at all with the Turbo or anything else. I'm super Anal about the maintenance on my Ride.
Again, do a test on off-road fuel range with an EXTRA TANK in the bed! How big of a tank do we need to get to 300 miles, 500 miles or even a 1000 miles of range? Can the Can-Am take the extra weight of the external tank and fuel and still have some extra left load capacity over camping and fishing gear? v
It can do everything except hold two large guys side by side without rubbing shoulders. I like these machines a lot but let's be honest, they are incredibly overpriced for what they are. They cost as much as a small SUV but don't include unit body construction, HVAC, air bags, crash test certifications, roadside coverage, or any warranty beyond 6 months to a year and are worn out with only a fraction of the miles on them as a modern car.
Nice run love the Canam’s. Those 4 doors have a pretty long wheel base! I’m thinking of getting a 2 seater trail 50” of this machine. Question is do I be reasonable and get the 800, or insane and get the 1000. I imagine in a 50” it’s quite wild
Really dislike side by sides. Make to much noise, ruin trails faster, too many of them to dodge on the trails going at too high of speeds, and this past weekend one was parked near my camp with blaring music till 2am. They give fools way too much courage similar to beer... If the government feels the need to mandate anything it needs to be sides by sides they need to be quite or not produced at all.
Cool school bus to navigate east coast trails. I am sure it meets Can Am build quality but jesus is that thing huge. 👎 And great really low airbox entry for semi-deep water to lubricate your motor. 👎

Comparison between this and the Yamaha RMAX 1000 seems to be in order
Livin' the dream, Andre'.
Anyone else curious about the lack of suspension articulation? Over sprung or anti-sway bar too heavy?
More payload than wrangler or 4runner.
These prices are getting out of control 😐. Or maybe it’s just me.

They had a 5 seater side by side with 4 ft bed. For 14k I thought that wasn’t too bad
That's called inflation. And it's only going to get worse in the next few years.

It would be fun to see some video of it at higher speeds and handling faster trails.

Tires seem a bit small considering the long wheel base and break over angle, but still a pretty sweet UTV.
Did Andre make the uphill part of the trail (including the rocks) in High Range?

I used my xt1000 commander with tracks to pull my f350 out of the mud. I was surprised to find that it actually worked.
You need to compare this to a Honda pioneer!! Would be great to see if the shorter wheel base is worth it over other school bus length machines.

Just like the General Crew and the last generation Commander, it’s too freaking long. Thank you Yamaha for understanding this.
I guess it's depends on what you want, Yamaha (which i love) has no where near the same machine as this whit the same purpose in mind.
