Yep, it’s 2024 and I just bought my second 6D MK1. It’s used for astrophotography only and for that purpose it gives me everything I need. I shoot with a Sony a7RIII for daytime landscape work and while it’s a great camera for that purpose the old 6D just has a weight and feel that can’t be beat.
been 2 years now when I saw this video...
still cringing for the guy
"Ladies, there's an empty seat in the tandem bike of my heart...." That just killed it. XD
those fucking pictures with the smoke machine were horrendous. lost my shit when he was crossing his arms
LOL! luring women with a puppy is priceless.
I've had my 6D for a few months and I seriously am in love with this camera. I will 100% agree it does have some flaws. With a 50mm f/1.4 and a 100mm f/2.8 L this camera performs like a champ.
We have almost an hour of 5D MK III content in our D800 vs 5D MK III series. Don't worry, your fantastic camera is not forgotten.

Always look forward to your reviews. Professional and upbeat. Thank you!!
Loved Marc...hehehehe, cool video, cool Marc presentation and that puppy is Marc`s good luck charm. He loves his master.
Well done, guys! Great review, and very honest. Mark, the video at the end did it for you! Good luck :)
9:27 Is that ghost orb flying at the top right corner? By the way still hard for me to choose between 6D or D610. I need to upgrade into fullframe camera.. Suggest anyone?
God DANG it I love it when you guys release a new video. The balance of professionalism and comedy is genius XD
im looking for an upgrade from my 60D. something that is full frame. video and better image quality for color grading. what would you suggest?
It's not "largely a plastic body." The front and back are solid magnesium, while the top is fiber-reinforced polycarbonate to allow the passage of GPS and Wi Fi signals.
I shoot with a variety of cameras, but primarily with the Sony FS700 which I shot this video with. I have a filmed a number of videos with DSLRs though.
Jordan @ The Camera Store TV
What about color? I have canon 5dmkii and also the 6d and the colour it is so different, what can you tell me about it!´Thanks
Hi buddy what if i want to upgrade from 60D to 6D. Does Morae and aliasing gets better that 60D ?
i don´t know what canon wants with this cam. AF from a 550D, same with the framerate. the only thing you get is the fullframe sensor and the high ISOs, but who pays so much for that? the 70D does this job better with the APS-C sensor.
I just bought this one yesterday in your store,my first FF :)
That's the guy. He's much sturdier lately!
Jordan @ The Camera Store TV
Always awesome reviews
Awesome video! Keep 'em coming!
And good luck, Mark! ;)
this video "TCSTV Live: Our Predictions for 2018 (And addressing the break-in at TCS)" What was it's point?
You mentioned that canon had sealed the body, is it fully weather sealed like the 5D Mark 2?
Between an A7ii and 6D, which is better for AF and low light?
I don't understand your comment about not getting a great sync speed. If you're shooting with a Speedlite then you have high-speed sync, which works at any shutter speed. I get that even on an EOS550D...
Thank you, the first PROPER non-bias review
Love this camera!
At a low light concert, will 6d center cross type only be more reliable than 5dmkiii?
Great work :) I will consider these type of cameras when I buy a new one.
Best reviews so wellmade
Excellent job guys!
The Panasonic GH3, Sony A99, Olympus E3 and E5 are all weather sealed and have articulating screens. I don't think it's as difficult to do as Canon and Nikon are claiming.
I enjoyed the review Chris !
What was the name of the APP used to send the pictures to the IPAD?
I think entry level full frame is actually a very common time for photographers to switch brands. If someone has invested in a few DX or EF-S lenses, they'll need to purchase new glass anyways. That might inspire them to see what's available in other systems.
Jordan @ The Camera Store TV
I like that in can focus in low light. How is it compared to the 5DM3 in low light focusing?
I have a question: How can I fix the moire problem :( ?
Has anyone else got those 6D with yellow tint in LCD? I have returned 3 copies with the same issue, I know Canon said to another customer- that's not a problem. Not a problem? This is huge problem, because you cannot set the white balance when filming or taking pictures and you should only rely on Auto WB. I found several forums with users having the same issue - yellowish tint in LCD (simply all white looks like yellowish, even menu letters). Hm...? Anyone else?
Good I would love too see this on TV!
Considering how many EOS 5Dmkiis are available used, is it still a wise decision to get a 6D?
great review man, thanks :)
i see then any help how i could get a better camera ??
Can anyone tell me how this Canon EOS 6D works with the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L ii USM?? I am very interested in both this body and that glass. I currently have a 650D with my 18-55, 55-250 and 50mm f/1.8 and i plan on upgrading but don't have the cash for a 5D mk3 - but hey who does? I also want to get a 70-200mm f/2.8 with the 6D and 24-70.
The 6D supports EF lens mounts, but NOT EF-S.
I've owned several Canon lenses, just EF USM IS lenses, but I'm never happy with the quality of my picture especially in natural low light situation or speed that I needed, until one day I saved enough money to buy a Canon EF 24-70 mm L F2.8. It takes me years by the way. I like 70-200 mm L F2.8 also, but I can't afford to have both for now, maybe one day. Anyhow, it's all worth it. The old lenses I never use them again. That means the L lens is too good, and I can't go back to regular lenses.
Except for the sensor size, how exactly is 6d different than 60d?
Quite a creative way of reviewing a camera. Nicely done :)
When you say "largely a plastic body" at around 1:05, what are you referring to? The specs I've read say it's largely a metal alloy body with a plastic top plate to allow the GPS to work.
Hi, great review. I own this camera for 2 years, and just love it. Mostly using it with canon 24-105L and Sigma 70-200f2,8 (and just bought brand new nifty50 with STM, great great lens wiht 7 app.blades :) Imagine :) ) Never owned FF body before, just EOS 450D and 60D, both had 2-3 years, so I never missed AF points or did much video. I'm not a photographer, I use it on my trips, and family reunions, "privat" weddings, at churches, all just for fun and pleasure, not for making any money. It's great toy, great hobby and great value for me. Once again, greetings from Slovenia, great video, great review and best luck.
bs
I bought Tamron 24-70f2,8 a year ago, and sold Canon 24-105 f4; It's another world...Never missed Canon.
I Thought you where talking about the camera not the lens sorry about the confusion
LOL. great ad at the end
Canon 80 D or 6D for a beginner???
Best sandisk for 6d any information thanks
I've got the 6d. I've chosen it over the 600d and 60d and I can't be happier. I don't miss the flip out screen, I don't miss the extra cross type censors and 4.5 fps is more then enough for me. Raw files are more the excellent. And connectivity with my HTC One X and iPad is super.
Can the app read raw files through bluetooth/wifi?
Will using wifi-sync with your smartphone eat up on the data plan?
This or D600 for super low light no flash photography?
Hi Chris! Another great review. Always enjoy your input. Would like to see a Pentax K5IIs review... hint, hint.
Thanks for the ISO test
Which transmitter did yall put on top of it? Is it connected with a strobe or a flash???
Hi. Could u please tell me what was the camera u used to shoot this video? Thanks!
Thanks for the review. I am in dilemma between 6D and 7D Mark II...which one you recommend. Usage will be for wedding photography and videos.
Vijai Balaiah For video quality, I'd definitely give the edge to the 7D II, it has much less aliasing and moire than the 6D. For wedding work you'll have to prioritize between the much better AF of the 7D, or the better high ISO performance of the 6D.
Jordan @ TCSTV
This is my dellema as well. But I'm not getting a good enough of a response.
Im having the same picture here. I have an old Canon 7d. Planning on going to the 7d mkII or the 6d mkI. Better low light capabilities and FULL frame or an awesome fast focusing system. Still undecided. I could just keep my 7d I and get a 6d too!
The Caribbean Digger Have you looked at the 80d? Better dynamic range and much better video performance. However the 7d is great for sport photography and more professional shoots due to the custom button layout. It’s a hard decision!
NXN Music yeah I did tried the 80d. Its a very good camera too. The news is that I stayed with my 7d and just got a really good deal on a used 6d. So I have now both cameras. I’m a happy shooter now!
Nice review
I'm still in love with my 5d mkii. I'll probably hold out for the next gen of full frame canons to upgrade.
I might have misunderstood it, but Nikon D4 has a build in webserver you can hook a browser / app / whatever up to and browse, shoot and so on. There are lots of video's on UA-cam showing that
Better than the 5DII? (Stills)
Getting one today!!! :)
Hey great review. I would like to know the IQ difference between canon 6D vs. Canon 5D classic. What has happen since the first fulframe concerning IQ only.
Hi! Can you do a 6D vs 5D Mark III review?
Thank you!
Lovely dog!!
How about nikon d600 vs canon 6d in the next video ? Part 1 to Part 3 ( something the same in the previous video on Canon 5D MK III vs Nikon D800 ) ....
hello
so what kind did you use to record??
Did you mention about the single memory card slot?
Need help guys. I do web design and development and I want to start offering a package which lets them have photos of their business and themselves took. I have the nikon D3200 and it's a great little camera, but I would really prefer a full frame. I really enjoy Astrophotography and I heard Canons are more prefered for that type of photography. Is this an all round good camera for pretty much anything ? The pictures the photographer was doing in his studio is exactly what I want to be able to do. My budget for body only is around £1000. Could I ask what lens he was using in the video ? No doubt the lens was close to my budget for the camera lol.
excellent video
thanks that was very entertaining :)
do you think the full frame sensor makes this a better choice than the 80D? im trying to pick between those two for video and the full frame sensor is really the only advantage i see the 6d has over the 80d for what i will need
I have the exact question, I think the Full Frame sensor is the advantage, but I don't know if that advantage really worth buying it.
By now, Canon could anounce a 6D successor every day... So I wouldn't buy it nowadays
DAVIDed Thinkin' I have the 6D in mind because of its price. For what a 6D2 would cost I'd rather pick up a 5D3
I got the info about the camera. Two years later, I want to know if this guy got married or what... :D
He has a steady girlfriend, which he owes entirely to us. No matter what he says.
Jordan @ TCSTV
TheCameraStoreTV
Haha... Thanks Jordan!
"Get featured on on TCSTV, get a girlfriend, pay us later!" Win-win situation and a viable way to make some money on the side if you ask me... :P
best review I have seen yet on the 6d
Your style is right on time. 3 thumbs up
so I take it this would go great with my 7D?
what's zone focusing?
Hi , I loved the review and hope that mark got a girl , I would love to know which lens with the eos6d would be great for landscape shots ?
Is this aired on TV?
I have a full frame canon 6D, I want at the moment 3 lenses for video: 1 wide lens, 1 normal lens and 1 telephoto lens.
Wide: I would like a sharp and natural wide, for mountains and outdoors.. wich one ?
Normal: I have already have a Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM Lens
Telephoto: wich one ?
keep in mind that I want a cheap as possible, and for full frame camera.
Questions
Can I use a Canon EF-S 24mm f/2.8 STM Lens as Wide angle in a full frame ?
Do you recomend a
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4-5.6 III (fit in full frame 6D?)
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L USM
as telephoto ?
No you cannot use the 24mm, it is EF-S
What lav did you guys use for this?
What if you have exactly $3000 in L glass - you should buy the D600? Does the D600 come with sensor cleaning kits now ;-)
very nice review, i will save for a 5d m3
I dunno, I find the dual card slots pretty damn useful on the 5d 3. writing raw to the CF and Jpegs to the SD. also swapping to video mode and knowing there is enough space on the CF is hugely beneficial when you are travelling and its hard to download all that data.
Yes, they are a very good compliment.
so cool man awesome
nice. keep it up brah!
Well that low light focusing section wasnt right. I have a 6d next to me and tried focusing with a 50mm 1.8 in about the same light condition and it couldnt focus
Did you use the center point? Only the center has this low-light capability if I understand it correctly.
The 50mm 1.8 also just sucks at focusing.
Sony FS700. For my money, the best camera out there for under $15000.
Jordan @ The Camera Store TV
how about the cross type AF? 6D only has 1 cross type AF point right? actually i don't really understand, what's cross type AF point? Is is really affecting the images quality? what's the different between 1 cross type AF point (6D) with 19 cross type AF point (7D) which is really not understandable. thanks all
cross type focus is like its name says it. + type. let me break it down for you. normally cameras have just horizontal ---- type focus points that means they are really good for focusing on objects that are vertical , if something is horizontal like the horizon it will have a hard time focusing but it will be ok on vertical stuff, cross type takes care of this because vertical focusing points are good for horizontal ( opposite ) so if you have both horizontal and vertical ( cross type ) focus points that you have better chances to accurate focus on anything. Its really confusing I know but think of it like a scope in a riffle , it'd be almost useless to have just either vertical or horizontal line instead both. Hope that helps
Good luck Dave!
As always this video is fantastic, best camera reviews out there. In closing comments Chris says Canon should be competing with the other FF cameras at that price point - may I make a video suggestion? A head-to-head of the FF's, low to high end :-)
Nice review guys. Still buying the 5dm3 though.
But this video just stated that it's very good at low AF! Is your statement from first hand experience?
Thinking about upgrading from my 60d to this! Really love the built-in wireless with live feed.. of course full frame and low light capability too. I'll miss the headphone jack and rotating screen though.. may wait and explore other options.
Upgrade already Jeremy to full frame!
Carlos Delgado I just blew away my savings on an Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8! Was going to save up for a 6D.. but I don't think full-frame is necessary for me yet.
Great share
You can get the 6d with lens kit on sale now on photolg.com/newcameras
I had a 60D and bought a 6D Besides the aliasing I love it.
True Videos Tv I've decided to hold off for the GH4 or a Canon 4K competitor!
Hi Chris. I think many people are doing review for this popular dslr. Could you consider doing reviews for Canon G15 or Olympus XZ-2 or Olympus XZ-10? Thanks
Between the Canon 6d or the Pentax K-3, which would you guys pick?
6D no questions asked. Fullframe.
+Aaronatorism advantage of the 6d:
better image quality
better noise performance
better battery (980vs560 shots)
bigger viewfinder
built in GPS
advantages of the k3:
in body stabilization
larger screen (3.2 vs 3inch)
higher dynamic range (13.4EV vs 12.1EV)
two storage slots
more focus points
higher frame rate (8.3fps vs 4.5fps)
cheaper
canon has much more after market toys you can get for it than Pentax ..look at tamron ..Sigma ..Yungnuo ...neewer ..all they have mostly is for Canon and Nikon
I shoot on the D7000 now but had a T3i. There are one or two things I liked about the T3i over the D7000 and one was the flip screen which I didn't think I'd use. I shoot through the viewfinder but there were a few occasions like large family photos in a small room where I used the timer to jump in the photo and the Flip screen flipped around to compose. Love my d7000 but Canon does some better things even on the lower tiered cameras.
like ur review!
