Absolutely love your channel. Btw your videos made me want the n55 b m2 so much more than the m2c. I take delivery of a 2018 m2 LCI in two days. I got the spline white and it already has the MPE from factory, fully loaded. I went with the 6 spd manual. I really need to get ahold of some seats like yours. Where’d you get your seats btw? I’m also getting the CS style hood. It’s lighter and functional. Mine also has a sun roof. Idk why I wanted that but I love how it opens up the interior. The spool feels so good during normal driving but top end is absolutely nuts. Just pulls so hard to red line....like it wants to just keep going.
I have a 2011 135i coupe w/ the 1st gen N55. These came with 1 passenger side oil cooler radiator. By simply upgrading the thermost housing (OFG) to a mosselman unit, u reduce operating temps by 20C. Even at autobahn speeds my car stays below 100C inste of the standard 120C. No extra or dual cooling components are needed for N55. You can also set the radiator fan speed to sport or track, most people just don't know this. The N55 block also has moore coolant channels as comparred to the older N54 design. This video does a great job of listing the additional reinforcements of the M2s N55 variant.
@@collectingms3803 debating if I should get m2 or m2 comp….which is more reliable long term? Like which engine most likely to possibly reach 200k mile….
@@channelgreen5949 Hey bro, both engines will get you to 200k miles, but the N55 is known to be more reliable. Holysmokes. As much as I love the n55b, I thought I was the only one wishing they put the b58 in the og m2 as well. But it was placed in the 40i series bmws shortly after but damn. Maybe if the n55b ever blows up a Frankenstein project b58 replacement could happen. Honestly I prefer the b58 over the s55. My order is like this b58>n55b>>>>>s55. What I don't understand is why they really only ever did different engines in a full m version of a car with this m2. No other bmw did this. I mean they even have an m235i as well. Very confusing.

Awesome video ! Looking to flash my 435 to the bootmod3 stage 0+ m2 tune. But then a part of me is growing skeptical as I learn about the various hardware changes between a regular N55 and this N55. Obviously put in place so it can reliably handle the extra heat and loads

Amazing video man. Question though. I have a 2014 335i with the M-performance(not just M-sport) power kit. I could be wrong but I believe they put the same N55 in these 335i’s that they put in the M2s. Do you know more about this?
Unfortunate for you, no it is not the same N55 between an MPPSK 335i / 435i and the N55 found in the M2 There are 3 main variants of the N55 engine. N55B30M0 - all 35i cars except for the ones below N55B30O0 - M135i / M235i exclusive N55B30T0 - M2, X4 M40i (til 2018) You simply have an N55B30M0 with BMW's M Performance Power & Sound Kit. Sound is the OEM exhaust upgrades, and power is just a BMW OEM flash tune for your N55B30M0. Does not make it a B30O0, or B30T0; those ones have genuine internals upgrades. B30O0 = forged crankshaft. B30T0 = forged crankshaft, dual oil sumps & larger oil pan, and S55 piston heads. While the O0's and T0's are superior in that sense. The M0 N55's are by no means a slouch on the road. There are countless 450-600whp street builds with all 3 of these N55 variations, with plenty of aftermarket support, all fairly reliable for the mpg & power output you get, and all found in some great driving / handling chassis' (minus steering feel)
