- The Tajin rim on this spicy and smoky margarita provides an acidic burst of flavour as you sip through it. The agave enriches the smoky mezcal and is accompanied by a sweet orange accent.

We Mexicans put Tajín on almost everything, from candies, fruits to cocktails and beer 😅
Yeah!!!!
Also just lick our palm and just throw some tajin on there lol
Not Mexican, but I love to sprinkle it on orange or tangerine slices and eat them. So good.
@@dirtybaystrangler mix those two, add Jicama, a bit of lime juice and Tajin, that’s called Xek in Mayan culture
@@TheOriginalPoon y
Tajin is so good with different fruits pineapple, mango, watermelon, jicama, and cucumber. I am thinking a tamarind and tajin margarita could be really good too. Those 2 flavors really compliment one another.
There are better chili powder than tajin on the market
@@rafaela3436 Which brand?
I use the Badia chili lime seasoning on my jicama and love it! Was thinking of using it for my cupcakes but Amazon came through with my Tajin. Now I can use it for my drinks and my food!
Steve, awesome! Sorry it took so long to get there.
Don’t be sorry - huge thank you for sending it to me!! 🙌🙏🎉
One of the nice things about being a teacher on summer break is that I don't have to wait until the end of the day to try this. Thanks Steve!
I like where your head is at Dan! 😋
A 50-50mix of tajin and salt works great as well
Man you're so loveable. You really deserve more subs!
Steve, I never skip through your videos, no matter how much you "waffle"! I'm here for your awesome personality, just as much as your drink recipes. Also, thanks for this Tajin margarita! We love Tajin here in Los Angeles. It tastes especially good on a mango margarita!!
Never heard of Tajin, but it sounds like a great thing to try, thanks!
Greetings from Poland! Keep up your work dude!
It's an early Sunday afternoon in Sydney. Weather is hot. I'm sitting on. My back porch enjoying a spicy margarita. Thanks Steve. I balanced the sweet/sour to my taste but other than that these ingredients are perfect together
Reason why I believe the Dead Man's Handle is so popular, is that it uses ingredients many people have and it's simply delicious, I've made it a few times already!
Cool. Looks great
Always look forward to your videos!!
In my border town of El Paso, Tx we use Tajin on fruit, any fruit. Thanks for great content!
I love all you're videos 📹❤ great cocktails.
YES.... One of my favorite cocktails
Hi Steve! Was looking at the top Australian content creators and you are in that list. Congratulations!
Steve, You were having so muck fun with that shake. I can't wait to see what you do with the LOT 40.
What a great recipe Steve. Tajin is a really good ingredient to combine with fruits, vegetables, and even in drinks. Greetings my friend!
Lovely and beautiful cocktail, and tajin adds fun and flavour. Love it even more when you share some pride with the world from one of my home countries, Steve :) That is very yum indeed!
Brilliant Video, love the absence of sound effects/visual effects! Authentic, informative, cool!
Much appreciated! Thanks Michael :)
Great haul and a fantastic drink. Love the extra byte from Tajin, locally got a similar profile bitters that is my goto for margs.
I just made one of those, it's tasty
Looks so delicious! Thanks for making this Mexican drink!
Yes love these. Fun to drink.
Subscribed at 80k. Mad respect for the growth! Keep it up
Awesome! Thank you!
@@StevetheBartender_ you are a very cool chap
Just what I needed
I just started messing with certain spices in my drinks and around the rim I think it gives it such a unique and awesome flavor. I've been making a devil's margarita and putting a little cayenne in there and it's amazing! Great video as always!
I will never drink a margarita without it! So good!
Tajin is also traditionally used with Palomas and cantarritos
Good video! This Margarita looks amazing! 🔥🥂
It’s delicious!
STEVE!!!! This cocktails looks fantastic!!! I def need to find that Tajin. Great video!!!!
You can find it at Walmart or at any Mexican grocery store.
@@bettyboop7898 Cool, thanks!!!
So happy, that your making a Mexican drink, we love mezcal cocktails and also using diffrents kind of salt, you should try hibiscus salt in a mezcal cocktail.
You can't get Tajin, I can't get Mr. Black Coffee Amaro... this world needs to sort out some shipping terms!
Haha, sort it out world!!
I agree I have the same problem
I second that one! I can't get Mr. Black either where I am
Tajin can be good but Stardust Dipping Powder from Rancho Gordo New World Specialty Food is excellent.
I was able to get Mr. Black by mail in Nebraska.
Your facial expressions are classic 😆 Great videos Steve!
"Must" with Gin is an "angry santa" (Swedish: Arg tomte):
Must is the traditional soft drink for easter (Påsk) and christmas (Jul).
For a little bit of extra heat/pepper flavor, you can add a couple muddled jalepeno slices. Delish.
Lol puttin the jigger the the shakers soo good
You see that's where the trouble began.

That smile. That damned smile.
Hola from México. Tajín is a pyramid site in a state called Veracruz (over the gulf of Mexico). It's a super impressive site, just like the seasoning. ¡Salud!
Cheers!
Que rico!!❤️ Tajin can use too in the "michelada"
Love spicy cocktails! I've done a few and even posted a Spicy Chocolate Margarita on my Instagram Reels!
I LOVE this Umami gin!! I brought some back from France. If you get to France, it is well worth it to visit Audemus distillery. Their pink gin is also fabulous - very popular. can't wait to get back to Paris to pick up some more. Unique and so satisfying in complex flavour!! Their Covert Liqueur is spectacular. The Tajin sounds fabulous!! It's a definite must make. Sounds so spicy - great for the Margarita!! The Mezcal/Triple Sec are delicious together!! I am sooo glad that you got a hold of the Lot 40 Rye, Steve!! It's my go to for Canadian Rye - I enjoy it so much.
Dude this sounds delicious! I really wanna try this now! Need to hunt down some Tajin! 😍
Well done mix... we use Tajin in everything...
Thanks for the recipe. Just came back from Mexico and thought I’d learn how to make my favorite drink. Btw, it’s actually called a mezcalita if you do it with mezcal, which in my opinion is even better! Next you can try it with the traditional Sal de Gusano 🤙
Shoutout to your wifey for her lime juice contribution!!
I agree .. I just took a long weekend trip to southeast Oaxaca , and Mezcal is way nicer than tequila in my opinion . 😅
Holy moly! Record for the fastest dislike on my videos (within 3 seconds of publishing!!).... 😂
If you don't have haters you're doing something wrong my man! Keep these videos coming! 😋
Loved your reaction to the Tajin 😄! I found that it pairs very well to make a spicy margarita cupcake. The tajin offsets the sweetness of the frosting and really brings out the flavor of the tequila. Maybe next time I'll try the cupcakes with Mezcal for more depth of flavor. If you're ever out of Tajin you can substitute with chili lime seasoning! Cheers 🍸!
that umami gin sounds like it would be incredible in a dirty martini. I would love to see you put some gin and vermouth combos up against each other to see what makes the best martini
I love Tajin, keep it up.
The Swedish påsk must goes well with gin it’s made whit juniper aswell . We have it for both Christmas and Easter.
The reaction to tasting the Tajín gave me a good chuckle 😂 Keep up the great work! Cheers
I was blown away with how acidic it was... definitely wasn't expecting that!
@@StevetheBartender_ It reminded me of the first time I tasted it haha.
I wonder how spicy Mayo would be for him lol
@@robibranches9195 mayo already spicy as it is damn.
Nice rim job! And I love that you use mezcal instead of tequila. I have recently converted to mezcal as well.
I gotta agree with one of the comments above. This isn’t a spicy marg. Try adding some jalapeños in the shaker and then some fresh jalapeños in the drink itself.
This is a mezcal marg with a tajin rim. Love your channel though!
The Umami Gin really caught my interest. It sounds so weird, but also, I want it. Though, I'd have to infuse gin myself because I live in Finland lmao
Mmm... Tajin.. 🤤🤤
my favorite beer recipe usung Tajín is Tajin around the top of the glass, ice, maggie sauce, juice of half a lime, Tabasco sauce, english sauce (worschester?) and then pour the beer, a cold corona or victoria, you should try it!
Oh, I love the Bilar (Cars candy) that you got, as a swede it's my favourite. And the must is a soda that we drink at Christmas and Easter, even Coca-Cola is defeated by Must those holidays.
You’re having way too much fun this episode 😂🤣 LOVE the Tajin tasting! And I’m also wondering how this cocktail would taste with the addition of some Ancho Reyes Verde to kick up that spicy factor a bit… Cheers!!
You can also try muddling a couple slices of Jalepeno! Game Changer!
I always rim my margaritas with Tajín , specially with FRUIT MARGARITAS like 🥭 mango, guava, watermelon 🍉… yummy !
Good morning, happy Wednesday!
Wonder if anyone will notice if I put one of these in my coffee cup?🤔
Tajin is the best! They are great for Cheladas
That Swedish soft drink made from juniper (in swedish enbär) and i should try it with Gin...
Cant wait to add this cocktail on my favorites list on the shake and strain iOS app :P
Here's the Essential Cocktails iOS app: bit.ly/essential-cocktails-app
I would love to see you react to drinking different non-alcoholic drinks from around the world, like that Swedish drink.
Hey Steve, there is a habanero Tajin available as well, that does give a bit of a kick off the start. The one I have is in a smaller 1.6oz container. Be happy to pick up a new one and send it to you if you’d like
I keep coming back for the smile :;))
Love the channel have you ever tried green apple Gatorade and goldschlager? I call it the packer shot ( I’m a Green Bay fan) but it tastes like apple pie.
Steve The Bartender > Cocktail Chemistry
We put Tajin on almost anything and everything. We bought the supersize bottle too. LOL This drink sounds right up my alley. DAMN YOU Steve, now I want a waffle.
Every time I watch a video of his I’m always thinking “where is he getting his ice” I really want to know.
Would be a good start if a setup video or gear video!!! Come on Steve
I did not know that påskmust worked with Jägermeister. But påskmust and gin works really well together. Or just as it is.
Must goes very well with Gin since it's a juniper spiced soda. :)
Down here in Texas, the grocery stores keep Tajin on every end of the fruit aisle.
Oh yes! I’ve been kind of obsessed with spicy mezcal margaritas of late. Thanks for pronouncing tajin correctly- this time. Lol. Trader Joe’s also makes a great chili lime salt.
Haha, it's not popular here are all... my friends and I have never heard of it before.
I've played with it a lot with Gin, Tequila and rum. Posted a few in my Instagram reels not to long ago
@@StevetheBartender_ you should put a little ancho Reyes in there too 😈. It’s pretty ubiquitous here in the us- but I’m not surprised it’s not that popular there since you’re so far from Mexico.
@@Barprints it’s a great product
@@TheWeePearl I meant spicy cocktails, haven’t tried tajin yet. But I promise I will! 👍🏽
Love Tajín! Sprinkle some on pineapple, mango, watermelon or cucumber 🤤
I've used the Tajin to rim my glass, but I've added it to margarita salt so you don't get so much citric acid taste.
you should make a michelada using Tajín
If you like the flavor of tajin, look up michelada / mangoneada. Chamoy is another classic ingredient akin to Tajin.
Tajín it is a seasoning product of México,
The company is located in Guadalajara Jalisco; México, where you can get Tequila
Steve! I just noticed you reduced the price of your app. First of all, the app is amazing and I was happy to pay the original price.. That being said, you are one hell of a guy for this move! Any bottles you'd like from near the mexican border of San Diego, CA? Tequila perhaps?
Nicely done! However, I wouldn't hv used the jigger to pour the agave onto it bc how it'll leave a gooey sticky residue on it & not trying to clean the jigger in the drink. Perhaps a spoon would of been best. Thanks again
Anyone recommend a great mezcal? Not really a fan but maybe for making a spicey margarita might be better than silver? 🤷🏻♂️
Hahahah cant believe someone sent you Påskmust 😂🇸🇪
I like you make cocktail
This is quite like a cocktail called 'Fire & Brimstone'.
If you can't get Tajin, I would recommend trying that instead, it's remarkably similar!
Tajin with a frozen watermelon margarita is perfect! Or, cut up watermelon, squeeze fresh lime juice and sprinkle on Tajin for a perfect summer snack. Everyone will fight over the juice left over in the bowl.
Can i substitute Tanteo Chipotle tequila for the mezcal? It's REALLY spicy!!!
I think I would do Tajin and sugar mixed together
Whelp, my secret is out. I had this when I spent a summer on business in Monterrey, MX. I make aaaalllll my margs rimmed with this now.
Beauty
I just realised I shake my cocktail shaker exactly like you do, with the cheeky smile and everything :D
I deliberately turn sideways to whoever I’m talking to and give them a grin while I’m shaking. Not sure if I do this because of Steve or not, but I do it almost every time.
any mango beberage with tajin will send you to heaven
That smile....that god damn smile.....
Excellent! My margarita is forever changed with Tajin rim. Thank you! It’s Taco Tuesday people! 🌮
Steve, what’s there not to like?
That first lolly that you threw is actually Finnish candy
I just bought a bottle of this gin
I don’t really enjoy tajin, but people in Hawaii seem to like it.
