ESPRESSO MARTINI COCKTAIL
The espresso martini has been made hugely popular in recent years due to the addictive combination of coffee & vodka! Make sure you use cold drip coffee - coffee extracted with heat tends to go bitter when not used immediately. Cold drip makes a delicious and consistent Espresso Martini - every time!
- 30mL Coffee Liqueur (1 oz)
- 30mL Vodka (1 oz)
- 30mL Coffee (1 oz)
NEGRONI COCKTAIL
This cocktail resembles the Americano (minus the soda and replaced with gin). Not to everyone's taste though I must admit - try easing into one by replacing the Campari with a less bitter Italian aperitif, Aperol - yum!
- 30mL Gin (1 oz)
- 30mL Sweet Vermouth (1 oz)
- 30mL Campari (1 oz)
APEROL SPRITZ COCKTAIL
The Aperol Spritz is a popular summer drink! Aperol's grapefruit notes and subtle bitterness compliment the bubbly, sweeter style prosecco.
- 90mL Prosecco (3 oz)
- 60mL Aperol (2 oz)
- 30mL Soda Water (1 oz)
BROWN DERBY COCKTAIL
The Brown Derby is somewhat of a bourbon whiskey based riff on a classic daiquiri. A big measure of bourbon is balanced with sweet honey syrup and sour and subtly bitter grapefruit juice. Named after the popular LA restaurant from the mid-20th century.
- 60mL Bourbon Whiskey (2 oz)
- 30mL Fresh Grapefruit Juice (1 oz)
- 15mL Honey Syrup (1:1) (½ oz)
BEES KNEES COCKTAIL
The Bee's Knees cocktail recipe was invented out of necessity, hiding the poor quality homemade, bathtub cut gin that was prevalent during the prohibition-era. Nowadays, good quality gin is in abundance and this is a delicious, citrusy and honeyed gin cocktail.
- 60mL Gin (2 oz)
- 15mL Fresh Lemon Juice (½ oz)
- 15mL Honey Syrup (1:1) (½ oz)
MARGARITA COCKTAIL
Tequila and especially margaritas are party drinks, so instead of serving them up in a stemmed Margarita glass, serve them up short on ice by following this simple simple 3-2-1 recipe.
- 45mL Tequila (1½ oz)
- 15mL Triple Sec (½ oz)
- 30mL Fresh Lime Juice(1 oz)
DAIQUIRI COCKTAIL
The Daiquiri would have to be one of the most iconic classics. It was first created in the 1890's and Bacardi was first call. Originally the drink was served in a tall glass packed with ice.
- 60mL White Rum (2 oz)
- 22.5mL Fresh Lime Juice (¾ oz)
- 22.5mL Sugar Syrup (¾ oz)
GODFATHER COCKTAIL
The original recipe of the Godfather calls for equal parts of Scotch Whisky and Amaretto which is quite sweet. I prefer to increase the Scotch Whisky to 45mL and drop the Amaretto to 15mL creating a less sweet and dryer Godfather recipe. Either way, the Amaretto will smooth and sweeten the whisky into a velvety smooth and tasty stirred drink.
- 45mL Scotch Whisky (1½ oz)
- 15mL Amaretto (½ oz)
MANHATTAN COCKTAIL
- 60mL Rye whisky (2 oz)
- 30mL Sweet Red Vermouth (1 oz)
- 2-3 Dashes of Bitters
BRANDY FLIP COCKTAIL
The Brandy Flip is a simple, 3-ingredient cocktail with a rich flavour and creamy texture. The very first Flips emerged as early as the late 1600s - they were originally created with a mixture of sugar, eggs and spices being added to a tankard of ale before being heated with a red-hot iron poker from the fire. Now, a Flip commonly refers to a cocktail of fortified wine or spirit and whole egg sweetened with sugar.
- 60mL Brandy (2 oz)
- 30mL Simple Syrup (1:1) (1 oz)
- Whole Egg - Навчання та стиль

Lets gooo! And also i love that u say the amount of ingredients in both ml and oz
Both measurements are in the book too!
Love how he smiles when he shakes the drinks.
@Mark:
It looks more like a grimace to me.
*robot smile engage!
Thats so you give a nice tip
thought i was the only one haha.
Totally looks like it's his favorite part xD
Him: „The bees knees. As the name suggests..."
Me: it's got bees in it
Him: „...It's got honey in it."
Me: it's got honey in it
Hahah, no bees were harmed in the making of this video.
@@StevetheBartender_ Would make a hell of a cocktail tho😄
Lol oh shit this made me laugh a lot!!!
😂😂😂😂
@@StevetheBartender_ Wait, you're telling me there are no knees in the bee's knees?? I need to rethink that cocktail...

im in exactly the same position. Scurry

Why is this me rn
You read my mind!
Every time he presents a cocktail he finished he has that big smile and just reminds me of a golden retriever bringing his owner the ball he just caught, so cute!
Lol, thanks 😋
I have to agree 😁
Omg yes
Right? Such a genuine smile. Not fake, not forced, just heartwarming. 😃
Cringe
It's a small thing, but the OZ conversions are immensely appreciated.
Good to hear! I keep forgetting to add them....but will try to going forward :)
Are measurements in the description okay? (like this: ua-cam.com/video/1z5FCi-XpHQ/v-deo.html) or is it crucial to have it as 'subtitles' in the video? 25+ thumbs up on this comment to let me know that subtitles are needed within the video itself >_
I just watched your new video right after this one (UA-cam recommended this video by the way) and yeah, I think the subtitles is definitely a nice touch. But that’s just me. Also, I was wondering as I watched these two videos back to back. What happens to all the drinks when you make multiple in one video?
Except when he constantly does 22.5ml pours which is a UK measurement where shots are 25ml single, 50ml double. Personally it really annoys me when he does 22.5ml shots because it’s so impractical for beginner at hone Australian bartenders
Abelardo Cortez I drink them 😆
I don't know why but it's so satisfying when you shake all the drinks :D
That's because of his smile: that rattle is ear deafening when watched in headphones, but when you see his smile - yep, that's ok man, we can handle it!
Eek! Sorry - the shaker is pretty close to the lapel microphone... I do lower the volume when editing but will do it a little more.
you're forgiven@@StevetheBartender_
That's cause he does it with style. Also he's got great arms
It's because he's yummy.
Steve: add 90ml of prosecco...just estimate it
Me: *pours the whole bottle* that looks about right
Anything that looks about right. 🤍
It is a personal choice. I like mine very light in aperol, my sister likes it dark orange! Do it the way you like it. Cheers!
is there a way not to smile along with you when you do while shaking? lol
Then don’t watch dummy
he was paying the guy a compliment, genius
Good, simple, nonpretentious video. Cheers
Thanks numbers!!
I think you described Australians in general tbh. Lovely country, to be sure. Dunno how Rupert Murdoch came out of it though...

No over the top ingredients, no weird obscure spirits that you use for one drink a few times a year. Simple, tried and true cocktails that do their job. Awesome.
He allways starts to smile when he shakes the bottle. Really handsome dude.
DancingMaskDude I love your Profile Picture. Such a great song and video!
Aww he’s so nice! Most bartenders are so moody! He loves his job x x
DRINKING GAME: Make every cocktail and see if you make it to the end.
I'm in!
That's less than a fifth of liquer, no problem!
Lol that sounds fun as hell
Added rule: All in 12 minutes and 5 seconds!
I tried it. I did not managed after bees knees
Liquors I've actually heard of? Good job
Omg tell me about it. A great cocktail channel on UA-cam is called How to Drink but he uses way too many niche liquors so if you want to make those you need to buy all sorts of shit you've never heard of.
@@chrish3126 agreed, Greg from HTD is a total hipster lol
@@chrish3126 Yeah, I don't like that channel because of that. There is no way I'll have that many liquers at home any time.
I’m a barback slowly learning trying to learn cocktails and this is more informative than the last 2 months of work!
Glad you found it useful Maggie - plenty more videos to come too! >_
You're the man Steve the Bartender. You saved my ass multiple time by now. Thank you!
You owe the mafia drinks or something?
Crazy bro
@@dyerseve07 haha dude i laughed so hard
According to your arms, you shaked a lot of cocktails already!
Lol, a bit one sided from shaking on one side!!
@ΣΠσλμψλδ Δοςμαψ welcome to the joke
"Ideally shake for about 12 seconds" *Shakes for 4 seconds* Dope video though
10 cocktails, 8 seconds each... that’s an extra 80 seconds of me shaking - no one wants to watch that! 😆😆😆 Glad you think it’s dope!

Literally the most charming smile on UA-cam
Shucks - thanks Lulu!
I absolutely love how happy he is each time he finishes a cocktail
When he smiles, I smile
Have been really into watching bartender videos preparing cocktails for the past few days. This is one of the best I’ve seen so far. You really deliver what I want to see, which is explanation +preparation + presentation. Thanks !
Thanks so much for your kind words Marie! Happy to hear that you like the vids.. I try to keep it clear and concise without too much fluff! >_
I've used this video as reference this month for a few dinner parties. I am super impressed by the quality and simplicity of this video. Also, the smile and shake - adorable.
Man...... The way you smile while stiring or giving a shake to your drinks is the most awesomest thing... That shows how much you love what you love to do.... Peace & Respect !! 🙏
Thanks so much for making this video and using liquors/terminology even the most inexperienced would understand
You're welcome Hannah! Glad you like the vids!
The pouring sound is so satisfying
Fantastic no pissing around. No ego just straight forward knowledge and talent.
Totally agree ... refreshing
I love this guys passion for what he does. Some people might think 'can't he do more than making drinks?' but he clearly enjoys what he does, and has a big smile on his face. More than a lot of people can say about their jobs! Keep it up dude, and stay happy
Cheers Rhys!!
What a nice dude
Absolutely love your straight forward explanations. As a certified bartender looking to get back behind the bar,I feel like I have received the refresher I needed. I will be looking for additional videos.
It is always great to have several quick "go to" drinks when friends or family stop by. This list helped a lot. Great Video Steve!
I'm just a glassie working in Sydney CBD and I've only been at it for about 6 months (until coronavirus happened), but I'm so keen on working my way up to a bartender! Gonna try to make some of these while I'm stuck at home hahaha
Love this guy and his positive attitude
Thanks Christopher!
@@StevetheBartender_ hi Steve. Great video, straight to the point super easy. 2 questions: shouldn't an espresso martini be double strained because of the coffee beans the espresso was made with? And on the aperol bottle it suggests a ratio of 1:1:1 for the spritz. Why do you use 3:2:1 instead?
And you made my day ⭐️
I’ve been trying to train myself into bartending for a while as I work in a bar itself . Espresso martini , I used to have difficulty to create that thick foam and some other cocktails with their quantities , (hard to remember sometimes). ... yet I’m definitely going to repeat this video and others as well as it has all the basic / daily consumed cocktails ideas in it . ♥️ thank you 😊 and keep shaking 🍸
I became a bartender recently, and your videos have been a great study! Also, loving your smile as you shake and present the drinks!
I found one of your videos a couple weeks ago and have since watched so many, they’re all fun to watch and learn from. I just made my first Bees Knees and it tastes exactly like I’ve gotten it at the bar, also I love the smile during the shake.
Ok so Steve. Remake this video but make it 20 cocktails and then the most important part...drink each of them as you finish making them😂
A few of my old videos I filmed when I was 7 or 8 cocktails in... starts to get a little hazy and slurry after drinking them within only a few hours! I’d probably pass out befor making it to 20!! 😆
For the Margarita you can add 1 teaspoon / half an ounce of agave sirup (jarabe de agave) before shaking. It adds a bit of sweetness and makes a creamier foam. Its a variation used here in Mexico.
Tommy's Margarita?
That’s how I make it!
One of the best videos I have seen. Beginner here, and thanks for making this really clear, simple, straightforward. Measurements, type of alcohol and suitable swamps, even a guide to how long to shake/stir for!
just came across your channel a few days ago...you have revived my love and passion for bartending!. I have already made a few drinks, working through some new recipes and expanding my liquor cabinet. great work, keep it up!!!
Absolute legend, worked as a glassy for ages and recently got promoted to bartender having no knowledge on basic cocktails.
Genuine life saver this channel has been
Love you provide measurements in both standard and metric systems. Thank you!
Welcome JB!
Totally enjoyed a bartender course I took many years ago. This guy’s enthusiasm is contagious.
I love that satisfying little crunch sound when he slams the shaker onto the glass.
Clear, no fuzz instructions!
Brilliant learned a lot in 10 mins short and sweet Great Job.
OMG!!! Aperol Spritz....... Thank you for the illustrations. Keep them coming.
I like the ingredients and measurements flashing on the screen while you're adding.. nice touch!
1st time watcher! So pumped to try some of these- thanks brotha!!!
Thanks for joining Jamison! Let me know how it goes if you try any :-)
Great video! Would love to see a "HOW TO START" from all the essential tools, syrup etc...
I’ve been making a cocktail a day during this quarantine. Been home over a month now. UA-cam finally recommended this video to me. I’ve been looking for you for one month!
A new fan of yours. I so remember when I took my American Bartenders School final test way back in 1977 when I was 21, we also had to also make 10 drinks in 10 minutes. But we didn’t know which ones they were going to call out though. Also had to take a 50 question written test, half was recipes, the other half safety and sanitation questions, I passed and was a bartender for 8 years from 1977 to 1985 then I met my Husband at 29 and I didn’t feel comfortable being a bartender anymore, so many guys coming on to me when I worked, so I had to stop, not because he wanted me to, because by then I’ve just had it. I did not meet him where I worked at the time, our bar closed at 12 midnight, so for a night cap would go to the bar a block away till 2 am when they closed. The band there was awesome. He was the door man there and the rest is history. We have been together for over 35 years, married 27 years. I still like learning all the new drinks that you’ve shown me on here, combined with all those old standards I learned way back when which you have shown on here. Thank you for keeping it old school & new school. Do you have a Facebook profile? Mine is Anna Paul, I know more than one Anna Paul on Facebook, okay, I’m from sunny San Diego. Ca. I do have some dear friends who live in Hervey Bay in Australia. Thank you again. You have a great smile. Your new fan.
They're all my favourite. Always nice to have a cocktail served with a smile, let alone ten of em. Good list and format.
Thanks! Glad you like the format =)
Bees Knees is my fave. What do you do with all those cocktails that you make for your videos? Scratch that. Silly question! :)
I did the espresso martini with a little of syrup and it was amazing 10/10
good god....all of these cocktails bring back so many good memories of living in Europe...from the U.K. to Spain...loved the vid and of course the cocktails...Saluti!!!!
Great video! Very easy to follow instructions. I love the crystal mixing glass as well.
Super soothing to watch! It's great to see a collection of simple cocktails that don't need a tonne of weird stuff, these are definitely global recipes which will work no matter where you are! I'm a gin lover so I'm definitely gonna try out that Bees Knees one next time I'm feeling in need of a drink - thanks for the tip!
No worries Alexandra! Let me know how the Bees Knees goes down... such a simple and tasty drink! I recently posted a gin cocktails compilation too: ua-cam.com/video/5dBEK79dqhQ/v-deo.html
Nice finish with the Brandy Flip. Loved this 10 in 10!
Such a crazily simple drink but it works so well... tastes better than the sum of its parts!
Stuck In and making the most of it, these vids are exactly what I was looking for..and your Vodka vid as well. Good stuff!
Just started bartending a couple of weekend ago, loving the job and this video has helped me heaps. Cheers!
Okay, that high pour while looking into the camera. Nicely done.
I couldn’t find which one you are referring to 😢

My favorite is a margarita. Thanks for teaching me keep it up. Maybe do a Bloody Mary and a michelada or a old fashioned and a mojito
I also appreciated the Oz translations
My favorite drink is a margarita. However I really enjoyed watching you mix these drinks! 😉 It’s my birthday March 20, and sadly I’m celebrating by myself at home 😩 I’m drinking White Russians because I had the Irish Cream on hand to make a birthday cheesecake for my neighbor. Sad to say she doesn’t drink though. But it’s the first day of Spring! I’m in Kansas USA (please don’t anyone hold it against me that Trump is the President! Not my fault, really! But back to your video, thank you! Great job! I’ll definitely give these a try, even the Brandy Flip with the raw egg! 😁 Happy Spring time everyone! BTW I’m now a subscriber so I’ll be watching more of your videos! You’re never too old to learn! I’m now 65 by the calendar but always 30 in my heart! Cheers! 🍹
I am a simple person, Margarita for me.
Gotta be the manhattan
Very nice vid man, it really made me want to drink something!
Ps where I live we don't consider aperol spritz a "real cocktail" and it's really common seeing people drink it at every time of the day, even in the morning before lunch. And here the price for Spritz (not only the aperol one) is a joke compared to other places, personally if I pay more than 3 euros for on I consider it a theft.
Omg the Bees Knees maybe my new favorite drink... thank you!
This is an older video but UA-cam decided I needed to see it. I’m not complaining.
You know what would make each one of these lovely cocktails even better? Having this charming gentleman making them for you personally. Has he ever posted at which bar he works? There are some mixologists who truly enjoy their work and enjoy sharing their knowledge. It makes the customer experience so much better.
I kinda want to be a Bartender and looking for a good channel to learn a few recipe and suddenly your channel pop out at my recomendation, I really love this video and will check out other one.. Keep up the Good Work Mate!
Thanks Colonel! Glad you enjoyed the vid and welcome to the channel 😁
just found this channel and instantly in love with this totally pleasant guy. cheers!
Thanks Morgan! Welcome to the channel 😁
Woww... I was looking for some easy recipes for my assignment on UA-cam. I love your smile. It makes me feel relaxed and comfy while watching your videos. Oh... Being a bartender is so cool... My god!!!!!!
A natural teacher. Great work.
Flashing that million dollar smile each time he shakes! Lol. Love it!
😎
His hands are huge. He makes the glasses look miniature.
Love your stuff Steve, I do the same when I host my bottomless brunches with the main bottles so I can make multiple cocktails
All of these look so good! 😀 I like that they are all simple and natural.
Don't know who you are, this is the first video of yours I watch, but... i love it!! got yourself a new subby here
Thanks for the sub Diana!

I didn't see no egg shell >_
Nice vid! Was expecting the Moscow mule. That is my favorite and its so easy to make! 😎
I don't get why so many of these vids make their Margaritas without agave syrup... if you're not gonna add that, might as well just do a tequila shot.
Just made a brandy flip for the first time. Perfect nightcap. Thanks for the video
Wow what a legend! Thanks for adding the time stamps and ingredients list 🙌🏻
Wow 😍
I'm in love with that lovely smile 💕... So charming & full of life
All good wishes from India 🙏
Dude your the man! These are really simple, pretty damn affordable, and your charisma while you do your thing is just awesome. Thanks for the amazing ideas! If you read this, do you (or anyone else for that matter) have a recommendation for a good whiskey to try if I wanna dive into the world of the smokey, woody, more complicated whiskeys? I have a bottle of Civas 12 YO and it's a tasty, sweet blend, but I wanna move on haha awesome video again man!
Ted Bagger I recommend you try The Balvenie 12 year old DoubleWood Scotch Whisky. It’s about $90 CAD but well worth the money!
Oh that's about where I set my bar for whiskeys. 75 is like my bare minim so 90 sounds great. I'll give it a shot and if I remember I'll come back to this comment and let you know what I think haha thank you!
This was so informative and easy to follow! Thank you for an awesome video, keep it up 👍🏻👍🏻
Hey Steve! This is really great content! I love the Bee's Knees beverage. Keep in touch! Will enjoy tuning in.
This is such a nicely made video, think the UA-cam algorithm knocked it out of the park on this one. Wonder if the bartender’s ever heard to crack on egg on a flat surface rather than the rim? Keep up the nice work
Yeah - YT seems to really like this one!! Most of my videos are much shorter and the watch time on this video is still consistent.
I have heard that it reduces the chance of egg shell in the drink cracking it on a flat surface but I don’t seem to have any hassles this way. Definitely wouldn’t recommend trying it on a tin - the thinner steel puts shell everywhere but fortunately the Boston glass has a ‘softer’ edge.
Steve the Bartender hope the view counts keep rising for ya! And hey if it works then no reason to change it up
There are two bartender channels I watch. Steve and How to Drink. And I don’t drink alcohol.
You may have done these in previous videos but could you mix a Harvey Wallbanger and a Salty Dog? Cheers!
I love the pdt recipe book in the background. Their drinks are works of art 😍
How cool he makes these drinks. And thank you spent time to make these ingredient list ,description on the screen ,some .It helps me a lot .Thank you very much.
This was GREAT!!!! How to have a cocktail party with easy recipes and ones most people like! Yippee! My favorite is Manhattan but I am so curious to how the Godfather would taste 🤔.
Thanks GG! Filmed another compilation already - just need to publish it..!
The Godfather is great! One of those ridiculously easy drinks that just tastes damn good. I prefer not going to heavy with the Amaretto otherwise it overwhelms the whisky with sweetness..
@@StevetheBartender_ Agreed. Will give it a whirl.
Could you describe a little more the reason for doing certain things? Like how you decide the correct glass for each drink?
Within the video you mean? Sure! 👌
@@StevetheBartender_ Yes, within or separately (or both haha). For example, why choose one type of glass over another? Why do you stir ice with the stick vs. use the shaker? For the Manhattan you stirred it in a different kind of mixing glass. Why? :) I think having the knowledge behind these things makes it easier to remember when trying it at home. Thank you!!
This week, instead of wine my wine group had a cocktails evening. I showed them your lovely video - everyone really enjoyed it and asked for the link, so I think you'll have more visitors. Super easy to follow and very inviting.
My favourite, I think, would be the Margarita tied with the Espresso Martini, but it's a close-run thing 😄
Great masterclass - thanks from us all
Steve, I admire you for your knowledge and competence.
Great Video! Surprised you were able to decide on 10. I foresee you doing a second series as I predict this will be well received. These recipes are simple, not too expensive and as a bonus can be have differing flavour profiles by changing the brand or the aged of the spirit(s) used. (spiced rum in the daiquiri....)
Stephane Foisy wasn’t hard to decide as I was focussed on ease to recreate and what classics I like :-)
I agree - all a good base to start with! What would be your no. 1 out of these 10?
@@StevetheBartender_ That is a hard decision. After a long day anything build in glass is a go to, thus Manhattan, Negroni or Godfather.
Haha, hard to decide hey - that was 3! 😆👌🎉
@@StevetheBartender_ LOL could have been a longer list had yours included boulevardier, rusty nail, stinger, bentley, dark and stormy, and a few others.
A second one would be a great idea!
This is a great list for beginners. I've actually never had a Brown Derby. I teach a different top 10, but LOVE this one! Cheers!
