Hi, I hope you or someone will respond me. How do you do to select faces without accidentally select more than you actually want. Like, the radio of "select" in my Maya, take faces that I dont want it to select...sorry my english. Im desperate
Hi. When I make the back of the chair skinnier like you do at 1:52 and move the back in with W, it leaves a flat plane in the back where it was extruded and I can't get rid of it. Its kinda hard w/o a picture, but help if you can? thank youu
Hey theree :) Im new to maya, using the 2020 version but i have no idea how any of this works How did you smooth out the chair @ around 1:54? because i cant figure it out for the life of me Also, regarding the face selection, that little circle thing you used to quick select by dragging, i dont know what that is and how to access it. Sending major kudos your way because gosh this is lifesaving UPDATE: I went through the channel, and found your basics to maya video, it helped me sort out the issues, sorry for the troublee
No problem at all!! To recap, that smooth trick is just pressing 3 on your keyboard and the selection is when you hold tab while holding the LMB. Hope this helped!!
I wish many tutorials are this way, actually explaining and not just "showing off"

hi i really loved the way you thought but 1 thing i didnt understand is how are you making the chair smooth and soft edges
Yes clicking 3 on the keyboard will make the chair smooth. Clicking 1 on the keyboard will go back to unsmooth!

Just select those faces using Q and then click W and move them down!

Why can't i move faces in? When i try to do it the whole object moves.any help?
You might have accidentally turned on soft select! Are the edges yellow? If so click B to turn it off
how did you access the multi cut tool so fast?
I normally hold shift and right click on the object to pull up the menu that has the multi cut tool!
