@@MHTutorials3D i do have one question though if you know anything about it. Whenever i export the pillow into unity it shows up as the blank spread out rectangle instead of the pillow seen in maya. Like, it reverts back to before the play button was pressed. I made sure it was all good and history deleted. But still same issuem if you don't know don't worry. Still an amazing tutorial that i learnt much in.
thanks for sharing this tutorial video. only one suggestion is; if possible please change the sound of youtbe logo drop at 6:14. it sounds very cranky. rest all good. once again thanks and keep doind such great job
I'm not good at English but your video is really easy to learn! I could understand everything you taught. Thank you! This is really helpful and useful video.
Ok this is soo cool.. im a 3d beginner and only just started using maya in university just a few weeks ago and this is AWESOME... very useful... thanks mike
I so love this work flow! I saw you do this before and I remember thinking: "Why didn't I think of this, this is so easy". I've used in Modo and Cinema 4D now too. And it looks so organic, nothing that you'd actually make yourself by modeling
If u will add the ncloth again at the end with less pressure and add a collider object using the Menu:nCloth:Add passive collider, you will have a dynamic cloth for animations.
Is this something specific to 2018? I use Maya 2017, and got to the point that I was able to make the pillow and edit it so it has pipelines, but I cannot seem to reactivate the gravity even after adding another ncloth.
Good tut. Couch pillows are normally flat at the bottom and sides. Could you set up multiple pillows and surfaces and get them to react to one another? Like ouch pillows for example?
Your explanation was very clear and your English is very easy to understand, also for not native person, like me. Thank you very much! I subscribed! ^^
Mine doesn't inflate anywhere near as much as yours. If I up the pressure it just inflates extremely fast. Once I'm done and have a pillow that kind of looks like a pillow but not nearly as good as yours, I can no longer move it around the scene.
hi mike, would always love your way in simplifying Maya tools and ideas in modeling. Would like also to give us idea in how to achieve Red Grape cluster (Modeling and texturing) specially in Arnold 5 shaders and procedures. I would be thankful.
Hello sir ! first of all thank you fot this quick cloth tutorial ! then my question is : can i use this method to model plastic bags , as garbage bags ? thank you
Hello sir, i have a problem, im following your steps, everything is ok until i click play forward button aaaaaaaand, nothing happens. Im trying to restart maya. It didnt work. Any idea what could go wrong? Maya 2020
Hi Mike, Could you please have a tutorial where one can render out a realistic ocean and a boat complete with waves breaking off the hull etc. I have read that you do it using bifrost but not entirely sure. I Use 2017 btw....thanks in advance
Hello mister, thanks for the tutorial, i wanna say, however i have tried to make a pillow or something like a pillow, i wanna use it for a sofa, they always shrink on the sides you know ?! i can't find a solution that makes it pupping up but stay straight on the sides !
I tried a lot to make a pillow like this, maybe you can check it out and tell me how ? (Gleason Chair Ottoman) if you write this word on google and see it, the upper pillow, should model it right ? can just use nclothe to it or to something similar ?
@@phoenixcreations94 Mikhail, the principle is the same and after making the initial pillows you can adjust the shape with ZBrush. Or you can make the whole thing in Marvelous Designer
If I use a sphere as the head and define it as a collider, it just goes though the pillow. Just in case you need inspiration, I can't find any tutorial showing how a pillow would properly deform under the weight of a human head. ;-)
I should have just signed up to your channel rather than pay 20k for a course lol
sad.. but true.. I did the same payment mistake
Pixl Visn? :P
6:14 whoa that button sounds dangerous
LMFAO :)
I really love these tutorials. I've become back to them, time and time again, for the 5 years!
Thanks! 4 years later and you're still helping people! Really appreciate it!
My first hand 30 minutes into Maya and I created my very first model.
Thanks, Mike!
This is coming from a complete newbie (and Blender Hater)
I am glad you like it
And to think that I would have to manually shape the pillow with sculpting...
This is so much more streamline!
Legend!
Thanks
I am new to maya, when I see the title I said to myself "how hard could a pillow be", when I saw what you did... It blew me away😅
I know that's 5yo but it helped a lot so ty :)
Hi Mike, thanks for this. I'm a 3D and texturing student, finding basic vids for props is really helping in the learning curve.
Good, you are welcome
This is a great tutorial! It covers a lot in a short amount of time and showcases one of the very cool features of Maya. Thank you for doing this.
Thanks so much, Mike! I find myself spending more and more time in Maya lately, because it is getting more and more fun! ♥ Thanks to you, of course :)
Thanks Loreen

Srt Tanaka you need to turn thr gravity in the nucleus back to 9.8
Really appreciate learning from you sir
I dont even have to search for you anymore, I can just search for a Maya topic and there you are :-)
LOL

That was quick :D Nice one :)
Thank you
Sir.. can you make a video on hypershade basics in maya 2018 please ,.. i really dont understand the shaders and nodes
Hello sir, i have a problem, im following your steps, everything is ok until i click play forward button aaaaaaaand, nothing happens. Im trying to restart maya. It didnt work. Any idea what could go wrong? Maya 2020

I have actually done videos on all of this. 1 A realistic ocean 2. A boat riding the waves 3. Waves hitting a beach
Aha...thanks....sorry I must have missed it somehow!
Looks like a pizza roll :)

Enjoy
Son of a gun
This is amazing thank you
Thank you sir. It's very helpful for teach
Thank you so much! :)
Thank you so much
How do you scale the cube but still be able to change the subdivisions without the object distorting weirdly?
So what if you wanted to create a realistic indentation on the top of the pillow to make it seem like someone slept on it?
Sculpt in the detail
It will be very helpful for me, thank you!
In your opinion, adding texture before ncloth or after ncloth?
After
Thanks Mike...
its awesome thanks man
you saved my life :0
Thank you!!!
Fantastic bro
Thank you
Hello mister, thanks for the tutorial, i wanna say, however i have tried to make a pillow or something like a pillow, i wanna use it for a sofa, they always shrink on the sides you know ?! i can't find a solution that makes it pupping up but stay straight on the sides !
Add edge loops to the sides
what about the nucleus the 'N' thing if i delete it shows double object
sir please jump to emitter fx and realflow with Maya tut's
Cool quick and easy thanks
Thanks as always !
thankyou so much.

Have you watched the video ?
@@MHTutorials3D of course sir .. i did .. but it doesn't show how to make something like the one i am asking for !

thank u so much bro
YAY THANKS!!!!
Very useful tut. Sir
Thank you
i do the edge thing but it doesnt copy it for all edges. why?
good video
Amazing! Can this be used in an animation ? Will it adapt accordingly if there's a head lying on it ?
Not dynamically but it will react to a characters head if the character is defined as a collider
If I use a sphere as the head and define it as a collider, it just goes though the pillow. Just in case you need inspiration, I can't find any tutorial showing how a pillow would properly deform under the weight of a human head. ;-)
I was searching up a vapourwave song and found this in the results. I have no clue what I am watching, but it is interesting nonetheless.
I was very relaxing listening to this tutorial .. but at 06:14 my heart was going to stop :D :D :D :D when that voice happened
Sorry :-)
