Thank you Brendan for such and amazing video. Seeing all the mishaps that you had and how you take it, it really shows me that I have to take it down a notch if anything goes wrong again on my annual visit to Isle of Skye on November. Can't wait to see the next videos. You guys be safe.
Had a similar problem in Williamsburg, VIrginia last year. Flat tire on a Sunday as I was about to drive home to NYC. I put on a donut spare but no way I was going to drive 350 miles on it. Took me all morning to find the only tire shop open in the whole town.
Hope you enjoyed your stay in Namibia man, irrespective of the tyre issue. It's my favourite part of the world. I am there every year (except for this year - things haven't been so good for me this time around). The open skies (day and night) are to die for even for amateur photographers like me. Namibia is a pure gem - I love that country and I don't mind 1600km drive whenever I visit. Hope you enjoyed driving on the right side of the road as well... 😁😁
Thanks for using that brush. I seem to struggle with the brush because I feel that it has to line up perfect. maybe i'm just being to hard on myself. the blending part so It doesn't look crazy seems to be my issue.
Very worried about how Avis look after their vehicles if that wheel had seized onto the axle, clearly not much maintenance!! Thank you for the star photography tips in Lightroom, very useful. Great series so far in southern Africa, looking forward to the rest of the trip.
Not having much luck with vehicles BVS, glad you were able to sort it, but how if you had no spare wheel, were you able to fix the puncture, that night sky is just incredible, wish I could get such a night to be able to make that shot.
Many bumps on the road but gotta keep going!! For that yellow, maybe you could just remove the saturation for yellow in the HSL panel, specially for an image like that without any other yellow.
The Milky Way shots are really awesome, I've never been anywhere that's clear and dark enough for it to show up whenever I've done astro. Personally though (and this might just be because I've mainly focused on doing star trails), I'd composite the image, maybe make a virtual copy and edit to max out the contrast in the sky, and then edit for the foreground on the other copy and blend in Photoshop. It's pretty much a prerequisite for star trails anyway, but I think I'd still do that for static shots. Another thought - lots of people will just tell you to focus on the stars even if you have the aperture wide open, but whenever I've done that, my foregrounds look soft, so I've been focus stacking as well. All that being said, my astro shots tend to look a bit ridiculous as I'll add way more colour to the sky so the trails end up being multicoloured haha. Would love to see more astro stuff in your videos; I've already learned loads from watching you take your blue hour shots too, so thanks very much for that :D
Hopefully thats you had your fill of bad luck BvS and the remainder of your adventure is trouble free. Enjoyed the tutorial and thought the edited imaged looked great
It's interesting to follow you! Keep up the good work :) By the way... You sometimes ask your viewer to take a look at your homepage or your girlfriends channel, but I have never seen you put the links in the description? ;)
Maybe now that you paid your debt you can afford a new pair of jeans :-) When I was watching you kneeing on the sand to change the tire I cringed (feel some love for your knees - you'll need them long term :-))
haha, sue he was fine. If he was bothered he could've used the car floor mats to kneel on. More sorry for him was un-winch the spare from under car. Oh, for as great a clever system it is, does my head in the rare times I've had to use it. :)
Yeah, ripped trouser at knees also make the knees ache every time one knees to take a shot. And usually you do not think about it and your knee ends up in all sorts of bad places :-) You do not think much of it each time but by the time you get to 50 things that were trivial and one was negligent about eventually come home to roost. And then there is no cure and you have to be overcareful not to do the things that trigger the problem; which maybe anything from sitting, kneeing, standing or whatever. 'Youth, wasted on the young' comes to mind :-)))
A day full of challenges and you never gave up. Awesome thanks for sharing.
Loved the editing passage. More like that, please

Desert, deser everywhere! Hi Brendan! Nice photos, thanks for the tutorial! Waiting for more astrophotograpy!
oh man that truly looks beautiful!
thanks for sharing this great content with us

You make star photography look so easy! Sorry about the flat tire!

Sorry I am late today. More astro photos coming in. Happy about that
Nambia isba wonderful place to take Your shots Bro!😊
Brendan I hope you are using Photo Pills app :) must have for astro and to find time of day to take photos from a specific spot.
May you enjoy your stay in Namibia...
Beautiful stars. Thank you Brendan

It was only flat at the bottom, you could have turned it round?

Nice! Will you show how you did the star trail video?
Hi Brendan, seems a fantastic place to take night photographs. Which focal length do you use for astrophotography? (At least in this instance).
Love your vlogs man 🔥 greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Did you use a star tracker?
Milky way pics are my favourite!
06:20 It never rains in Nambia, you know you're tempting fate lol.
Juis! For the Canadian's benefit: Exactly!
Nice bit of editing on the astro buddy
Great image mate. Well done.

Is this an old video? I think I’ve seen this before? Especially that photo of you with the stars? 🤔
Haha. Brand new. I've never been to quiver tree before! Similar to Joshua tree though.
Good to see your editing skills Brendan, I wonder if Jodie will show her tent fixing skills over on her channel 👩🏽🔧
(Not related to this video) Would it be possible to see an example of a "photo story" that you shot and then sold?
What a great adventure - I want to do that myself sometime. But maybe the tent was slight overkill? ;)

Why a separate room from Jodie ? 🤔
😉
Notting is also something
It's interesting that every photographer has a slightly different take on how to edit star photos (including me).

No problem mixing up drones there.
ref. your flat tire: where do you travel in Namibia? - most streets there are gravelled roads, so not paved.
lay on your back and kick the tire with your heel... its just bonded to the brake rotor
I guess bad luck is better than no luck 😬
Brendan I really enjoy your footage but please please change the music!
The music is nice goes with the scenery and I think you have a nice choice in your music
You would get there faster if you didn’t keep making Jodie walk the line to prove she’s not drunk 😊
Kick the tire. It just needs to be let go from drum.
Let’s see under the hat
Second
