  • they say that photography is the art of capturing light. But, in travel photography light is something you can't control. You need to work with what the world gives you.
    My Travel photography on Instagram: / brendanvanson
    On this episode of the photography vlog, I wanted to look at the idea of light and what it means to a travel photographer. In photography, you always hear people saying that the light - above all else - is the most important. And while that's true, when we travel for our photography it's not always possible. Light is something that we are at the whims of. In travel photography, we need to work with whatever light we have.
    Today was a great example. We got beautiful controlled light in the ghost town this morning. But then as we drove throughout Namibia to Sossusvlei we found ourselves in challenging and harsh light because of the fact that the park's gates close at sunset.
    Still we worked with the light and managed to get a really great series of photographs here in Namibia today.
    And tomorrow, there's more photography adventure on the vlog. So stay tuned.

      Sadly, they've moved the parking lot so it's right in front of the classic shot

      I agree. I like learning the background of unique locations, like how the Devil's Playground was formed, and what happened to these ghost settlements.

      @BrendanvanSon  6 років тому +4

      Unfortunately, I think you're in the minority here. I ran polls, questions, etc. Vast majority of people love it for the interaction and community. Moreover, even if I didn't "premiere" the video, it'd be uploaded at the same time. So, there's really no difference. Sorry you don't like the feature . I love it. I wish UA-cam would allow you some sort of notification option where you could choose NOT to be notified of premieres, but only once they're fully live.
