Very much like something I was thinking about doing. I was going to have a gunsmith Dremel out the top part of a ghost ring sight, so there would be an opening to frame the front sight. I planned on using a slightly higher front sight in conjunction. I might still do that if these new sights are either too costly, or If the opening isn't as wide as I wanted. My goal is very fast acquisition for a defensive sight.

I'm thinking a 3X height front suppressor sight with Tritium and a yellow ring, ... paired with a ghost ring sight Dremeled out to make a "U" shape opening, or maybe a "Wilson Combat Battlesight", rear "U" notch sight. Probably can put that combination together for about $100. While I can definitely see that those new sights are good, I want the rear opening a little larger.
Love my TFO’s, but the hellcat has this front dot and You shaped rear sight. It’s not as specific as this with the post on top so it’s hard to acquire target accuracy. The top post is a great idea. Cool Sights
Iron sights are still actual in competition shooting because red dots are forbidden, at least in my country. We shoot 25m and 50m by pistol and even 300m with assault rifles or carbines.
If you pulled a line from the center of the rear and front sight dots it’s parallel to the barrel. Now go up the rear and front sight an eighth of an inch and you’re lined up with the tops, still parallel to the barrel. The idea is relatively simple but it seems that they executed the design brilliantly.
It works litteraly IDENTICAL with firearms that run a red dot sight and BUIS, "Back up iron sights". Anyone that knows what they're doing is using a lower 1/3 or less cowitness with their irons when using a rds as primary aiming. With a lower 1/3 cowitness the irons only come into the rds window, filling up only 1/3 of the lower portion of the glass. This helps by giving as much sight picture possible with as little impedance possible with your irons. So..... What's happening is that you're not physically positioning the seperate sights by changing the firearms elevation but rather changing your eyes position between the two sights. The firearm will still keep the exact same aiming angle almost as if you have the thing tightened down rock solid from a vice grip.
I still dont understand why we are debating irons vs dots. Sometimes I think there is a desire to simply complain, convert, or justify. Choose one or choose both and just shoot. I understand ammo is expensive, but damn.
Wow! A simple solution. I would try this on an outside carry pistol but, I would be concerned that the opening at the top could snag clothing on my concealed carry pistol.

@@TopShotDustin you know to follow up I reached out to the company to see how long the backorder wait is and they said about two months so that doesn’t sound very confident to me not sure why they’re on such an extended backorder and I asked a couple more questions and they just flat out ignored me after that so that didn’t really vote well as far as customer service goes in my opinion. It’s a shame because I’m extremely interested in these sights since they seem like they would work perfect for astigmatism as bad as mine.. I might just go with a set of Ameriglo ghost ring. Disappointed….☹️
A lot more iron sights would be sold if one would standardize a plate that allows a rds and irons to be mounted on a myriad of pistols. Usually, anythnig ghost ring like needs more sight radius. The last that somewhat had that was the field pistol from FK Brno.

@TopShotDustin I've got a Holosun 507k on my 43x with a plate. If your sights are the same height as the stock glock then they'll be slightly low but still able to co witness. If they're slightly higher, then I'd have to consider loosing some real-estate on my optic window. Are your sights same height or slightly taller?

Nicely done, but it’s too bad You’re not old enough to have competed in the days where Heinies and Warren’s ruled. Speed and precision and a clean crisp site picture. Also the important ability to be able to look over your sites. I don’t imagine these with track through recoil all that great. They would block out a lot of the target at distance also. Still a nice option.
Having carried glock oem sites for 20 years, I've noticed that the only people that say "glock sites suck" are people that either are selling another site or haven't trained with the simple glock sites that have worked for decades....just my opinion.
interesting this is how we have shooting in IPSC with open sight for 20 years. I dont mean the round rear etc - but the idee - just hav ethe fiber inside the rear and you are good to go
There's more aftermarket for Glocks because there are more Glocks than any other handgun on the planet. Not to mention Glocks are by far the easiest pistol to work on and modify.
I prefer irons for self defense. I like and use red dots however they can be hype at times. In a life or death situation I feel iron sights are the way to go for self defense cause why else carry lol.
Those companies need to figure out that glock isn't the only good pistol on the market. I have a couple Glocks but several M&P pistols, wouldn't mind getting a few sets for some M&P's, but apparently, they just want to sell to Glock people!

Every company is gonna start with Glock and expand from there. Glock has the biggest market share, so it makes sense to start there. There are also dozens of different models of gun that use Glock pattern sights, so it really is the logical first step.
Someone re-invented wheel here. This is how the old British partridges sights used to look like ... or their modern clone - Steyr pistol trapezoidal sights
Do these fit on an STK100? It can take a vortex venom, but I think Glocks need a plate adapter to do that. I'm not sure on that though. I plan on puting a glock 17 slide and barrel on the STKs frame eventually, but havent just yet.
Trying and failing to understand the appeal of these... I use traditional notch-and-post irons with a fiber front, and for rapid shooting I'm just tracking the fiber, and I switch to the top edge of the front sight for precision or distance shooting. Oh, and my rear sight is blacked out because I don't need the distraction of even more tritium glowing when shooting in low light.

Yeah, iron sights are harder to use well, and require more training and practice, but they are every bit as accurate if you do the work. I've hit an 8" gong at 100 yards with irons many times. Usually to prove wrong someone claiming that iron sights can't be as accurate as dots. I'm kind of excited if we have an actual development in iron sites here.
I don't understand why people buy and shoot Glocks today with all the great handguns on the market today Glocks triggers suck the sight pic sucks they are squared off it's like aiming a brick they were good in the 80's when they came out but today standards they don't even innovate to make their product better idk they got left behind that's my imo.
Not all of us want tiny guns and not all of us have tiny hands. And many of us are trained on glocks so we'll stick with glocks. Many of us can deal with the shortcomings because we trained to overcome those shortcomings. Glocks have the most aftermarket support and a lot of modularity. You can get easily customize them if you so choose. Their track record still stands and they are well proven. And they're not exactly expensive either. Plus no one cries if they beat up their glock and they're easily replaced. I prefer a glock 30 for carry. I like the chunky boys and I have no issues carrying them because I have the appropriate holster for my needs
I'm not convinced. Yeah, they look great in broad daylight, but the creepy crawlies come out at night. I want a sight picture that is simple, provides a fair amount of " light " past the front sight, and is preferably luminous. I don't shoot for pleasure. Your sight picture at night isn't what it is in broad daylight.

Might need these for my Gen 2 17, the original sights are still installed, just never found any sights that I liked to replace them, I like these.

these are so fast I can acquire my sight picture before I see my target. end up shooting the ground half the time, but I never miss my mark lol
