    i'm 61 and now live in Minnesota.
    Been trying for many, many years to grow a mango tree from seed with no success.
    Tried your method and now I have 2 little mango trees growing.
    However, it didn't take as long - I wrapped the seeds in wet paper towels, placed in ziploc bags and set them outside on the front porch but not in direct sunlight.
    It took only 2 weeks to sprout.
    The tricky part now is over wintering them in the house.
    Thank you for this video!!!

      I’m glad I just saw this; I germinated my seed under a grow light, one of the two began spouting but I fertilized it too early;
      So I took it back out and am letting it sit longer out of direct sunlight, that should germinate it better .. ? And, when you bring it back in the fall I guess before frost and temp drops, would I just keep it planted under a grow light or does it go dormant ….. ? Thanks ; )

    For a successfull sprout without mold, use surround wrap since it is not biodegradable. Paper towels attract mold. Place the seed in a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and water before placing it in a ziploc bag. Nest the seed in the rolled suround wrap and add some water. The success rate on this 💯

      Hello neighbor! I'm glad you found this helpful. I noted in the comments and description to remove the plastic after the seed germinates but also to leave it slightly open for airflow. Remove the plastic from the pot once the leaves emerge. You can also plant the seed directly in a pot of soil, then cover it with plastic with holes for airflow. I hope it works out well for you! Have a great weekend and thanks for watching! Misilla

    • @LearnToGrow1
      @LearnToGrow1  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi! You’re welcome! Yes, bury the roots or they’ll dry up. You have the right climate so you don’t have to cover it with plastic. Mango thrives best in full sun and keep the soil moderately moist not saturated. Just like a wrung out sponge. You don’t want the roots to rot in sitting water. Make sure the soil drains well.☺️
